Launching rockets is by no means easy, especially when dealing with cryogenic liquid propellants and high pressure gases. After 2 years of design, build, and testing we finally launched one of the most complicated rockets ever built by students.
GoldiLOX is our Subscale proof-of-concept rocket for our Fullscale space-shot rocket. YJSP's mission is to launch a liquid rocket past the Karman line - 100 km above Earth. GoldiLOX uses a lot of the same systems that will be used on our Fullscale rocket. From custom valves to avionics, we have developed the know-how to design fully custom parts and build them entirely in-house.
Everything we have learned from the Subscale Mission will be carried on to our next mission, Space.

A heartiest congratulations , very very happy to see such systems build and designed from ground up . Lox and LN2 and really hard and really tricky to handle . Cryogenic valves are really tricky and even slightest moisture can freeze the valve still ...I learnt this the hard way . How much ever powerful actuator you have you cannot open the valve it's frozen still . The most important aspect of dealing with Cryogenics is to not let any moisture into it .... might be I guess that would have been the issue the valve froze still . Also Cryogenic level seals are really important aspect of the same . TFM seals work great for the same . I would live to know why was the valve freezing and might be some of the guesses I made were the reasons for the same 😬

We also suspected that the humidity had something to do with it. It was humid and overcast the day of the failed test.
