@BOATIE141 for the newer shows yes. But for the original recording and up until "The Battle Of Los Angeles" he used an IBANEZ DFL FLANGER not a phase 90. It's a night and day difference sound wise too

It made me wonder if he actually learned to play it a long time ago incorrectly from a bad guitar tab/teacher or if he just tried to learn it quickly for this short video without doing some honestly pretty basic research into how it's actually played. Excellent choices. In fact, the flanger and a chorus make: me think of the EXIT… STAGE LEFT version of The Spirit Of Radio Lerxst’s entire sound in 1981 was built around the chorus and the flanger, whereas Geddy was using those Ashly preamps with the overdrive turned way up, but also not oversaturating the bridge pickup on his 4001 and his ‘72 jazz bass, which would have been ran in mono… the Ashly was basically an early version of the sansamp RPM The Edge… there is not other guitarist that sounds like he does. His use of delay and chorus is unmatchable and very unique to him. Even Alex Lifeson made that same statement about The Edge and how he was a great strumming guitarist as well And Geddy still gets mistaken for Bono to this day 😀
