Did you notice the coral carpet in the bedroom at the top of the stairs? Probably for his granddaughters. I hate the bold yellow with the soft green downstairs. Hate the couch.

After witnessing Geoff doing this incredible project successfully, he is truly an inspiration to many coming through this pandemic! Now everyone instead of believing in life and always saying 'I cannot' believe in yourself and learn to say, Yes you can! An Incredible home, furnishings and commentary. I envy you living there Geoff I really do , enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Geoff you are bold and gentle, truly you are the Godfather of construction and design, who can not fail. Thank you for the entire information of laying the foundation deep into the earth instead of the piling up suspension like they do in Florida is absolutely genius. This video will help me to implement my coastal home building in the near future.

an inspiration. a man has a goal in mind and he goes for it despite how unconventional it is. in the town i live in they are building on the historic floodplain with no thought to the inevitable. our culture could do with more great ideas like Jeff’s.

I don't understand the avoidance of a couple of extra columns under and knock off $100k+ on the price. Perhaps it was those %(*$_)$))# planners? Better still raise the land and build on a hill. The view gets even better.

That house may be flood-proof but I don't fancy the chances of that glass in really high winds. It's going to get really hot in there in the future summers without some serious additions, like green rooves, shutters, passive coolling, etc. THREE loos??? That's a LOT of water wastage. Where are you going to get enough when demand outstrips supply? You'll need water butts to collect a LOT of rainwater.

The weather and murky waters around his new home will depress me. I live in a sub tropical area with a lot of sunshine and colourful plants. His house is very impressive, but may not withstand the rise of the sea eventually.
@ergo6381
@ergo6381 2 жыл бұрын
Even Conservative estimates of rising sea levels will have his ground floor under water in the years to come. He won't be able to sell that place. Sold my house by a river threatened with future flooding. Property value dropped nearly six figures because of the report on projected sea level rise over the next few years. But you take the hit, better to sell when I did than wait any longer than I did.

silly man. He did it complicated and WAY overpriced. We have to do this stuff down in Florida. One simply puts down the concrete pilings (which don't experience upthrust) and next a monolithic dome on top. You put NO living spaces at ground level (that's just stoopid) but garage and cars.

Let flood plains be flood plains! Leave the flood plain alone! It may be private property but it's impact will be at a whole public level!
