I was on base at Fort Hood when this tragic incident occurred. My unit had just returned from Iraq and we were spread out across the base attempting to recover equipment that had recently returned. This created a huge problem in regards to acquiring accountability of every Soldier. Additionally, when this incident occurred, movement was restricted. The base was locked down and a large cordon encompassed the readiness center and Darnall Army Hospital. Some Soldiers were on one side of the base and could not return to the unit. There was a lot of panic, confusion and fear. Family members who lived in on post housing were locked down to their quarters and were burning up phone lines, wondering if their Soldier was dead or alive. If I remember correctly, we were sheltered in place till about 6 or 7 at night. I’ve met LTC Kesling. She is a very no nonsense, by the book commander. She is evaluates strictly on performance and doesn’t play games. I never met Major Hasan. However, the Army wanted to know every patient that he ever had seen. They dug very deep in that area. I also had the opportunity of meeting Michael Cahill. He was an outstanding human being and did an excellent job for the Army. My heart goes out to all those that were affected by this incident either directly or indirectly. It is something that should have never have taken place. RIP Beloved. You are never forgotten.

That closing monologue was perfectly worded. This is pure speculation, but he probably sees being executed as a death which would grant him access to his heaven under the guise of carrying out Jihad. The only empty peace that can be granted to survivors and their loved ones is knowing that he won’t be getting the death he wants, and will instead die unceremoniously just as you described.

Yes , that’s true. My lifelong hobby is to study Islam , so I’ve studied Islam and Islamic history for decades. A Muslim who dies while doing jihad against unbelievers will go immediately to Paradise , have acess to 72 virgins whose virginity renews , have the virility of a hundred men, and have fruits, wine that doesn’t make you drunk and have couches to recline on while young boys ( as guarded as Pearls) serve them food and wine. Islam is a works based ideology, where what good works you do determines if you get to Paradise . But Muslims can never be sure if they have done enough good worlds to offset all their sins. I’m assuming this creates a lot of unconscious anxiety. So one of the reasons dying in jihad and becoming a “ martyr” is so popular/ desirable is that it’s a “ 2 for”…..You get to kill a bunch of unbelievers who rejected you religion and offended you god, AND you get a golden ticket an express trip to Paradise and all those virgins. Jihad against unbelievers is defined as fighting ( using whatever means available) against all non Muslims. The fighting against unbelievers isn’t becaise of what they may have done….its simply because they ARE unbelievers. Muhammed says “ I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify there is no god but Allah , and that Muhammed is the messenger of Allah, establish prayers, pay the alms tax , and beieve in everything that the prophet brought. “ Muhammed is saying he has been commanded to fight people until the accept islam. If anyone is curious about what musmkms believe , and why they believe, as a beginning I recommend “ It’s All About Muhammed” by FW Burleigh . This is an unbiased biography of Muhammed. It’s an scary and fascinating read. I can promise you will be surprised by some of the things in Muhammed’s life. There are other biographies of Muhammed but it’s very hard to find one that isn’t written by Muslims and is biased, or is written by a non Muslims but leaves out some of the more “ unpleasant” parts. Why a biography of Muhammed? He invented Islam and Muslims are commanded by their god to obey Muhammed without questioning , and since Muhammed is the perfect example of a Muslim man, then all Muslims should copy the things Muhammed did. In my opinion, Muhammed’s life is the first place to start in order to understand Islam.

I grew up living literally right across the street from Nidal, and his family. I went to school with his youngest brother Eyad. Nidal and Innis ( the middle brother) used to come out occasionally and be all time quarterback for our backyard and street football games. I knew them and their family very well. Had dinner with them a few times and was in their home often just hanging out. They were all well liked, sociable and friendly to everyone. When this shit happened it was crazy. I never would have thought in a million years he or anyone from our small town would be capable of this. We used to laugh about how Vinton (town in Va where we lived) was like damn Mayberry. Still crazy to think about from time to time. Just goes to show you never really know someone.

Anyone who shoots a pregnant teenage girl begging for the life of her unborn fetus is a psychopath of the lowest degree. She was Hispanic. Maybe he had it out for the Hispanic nationalities since Day 1. Either way, be careful where you eat your outside dinners. Apply your experiences. Good luck and watch your back.

@@Presca1 I hear you, but. . . I mean they can’t really shut it down. I lived 3 blocks from Tank Destroyer Gate, from 2021-2023, And for those 3 years, we had a murder rate of Baltimore, not even all of it connected to fort hood, but like, for instance, we had a house 5 blocks back from my apartments, In one night there was a quadruple murder. The first month I was there, someone was shot outside of my door. Several people were bodied in that apartments complex. Killeen and Cove encapsulates fort hood (now Cavazos). And both are high crime towns. There’s a lot of high crime towns in Texas. We just don’t talk about it. Because crime is something that “only happens in those liberal cities full of blacks,” The reality is, red state cities dominate the crime and homicide statistics. Always have.

I’ve quoted this on one of these religiously motivated atrocity videos before, but it seems particularly relevant here: "With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil, that takes religion." ~ Steven Weinberg, American theoretical physicist and Nobel laureate in physics. Why on earth wasn’t he immediately kicked out for his grossly inappropriate behaviour when he started proselytising PTSD patients? I’d be horrified if a psychiatrist started spouting religious nonsense at me, idc which faith they’re hooked on; how are you supposed to recover when your doctor is patently unhinged? Hearing all the facts of this case (brilliantly laid out in this video btw!), this monstrous mass murder was totally preventable at so many points along the way. I’m left angry at so many people for allowing this to happen.

he didnt really show narcissistic tendencies. more like he was never allowed to develop his own ego and was essentially raised to act as a servant, so when his masters (parents) were suddenly no longer around, he opened himself up to manipulation from people who are well versed in finding and exploiting people like him. pretty much the same reason why anyone supports conservatives or people like DT

y'all talk about identity politics as if it effects one side of the political spectrum or the "victim class" when it doesn't, identity politics is as equal as problem on the right as it is the left. I didn't see anyone going on about identity politics when multiple white men in the military were arrested with ties to white nationalist/ white supr!macst hate groups or when that guy leaked US military documents to his discord chat. Military vets and leaders regularly fail to report and intervene on people who are showing obvious signs of either being radicalized or needing help mentally and they get away with little accountability for failing to act and endangering the public.

Deported to where? He was born in the US. Pay attention. And yes, all religions are a bunch of BS written by men who want to control other people. The basis of the religion is that men come first and women are only there to serve men. How convenient for all those men to write the religions that way, huh? And why wouldn’t his parents be able to own a bar and grill? People of any religion could go there. I guess it’s just strange to someone like you to hear about someone not expecting their religion to apply to everyone. Take your nonsense somewhere else.

"as, like many religions, Muslims don't put a high value on women"--yikes. there are nearly two billion Muslims in the world with a wide variety of interpretations on women's role in society. same thing for Christians. same thing for Jews. i have listened to every monsters ep, and i appreciate when you clarify the difference between an individual's actions and the beliefs of the group with whom they identify. my edit to this section is: "It likely didn't help that this supervisor was a woman because he was a misogynist who didn't place a high value on women."

Simple - no one reported the obviously insane, terroristic behavior because they didn't want to get in trouble/be demoted/be tagged a racist, etc for alleged "Islamophobia". Even calling out actual terrorists resulted in massive issues for normal people, so no one complained. It was part of the actual findings whrn this was all examined and reported - just not discussed much for some reason.
