@@phillyphil201hi again, Philly! 😊. Wanted to back you up here. The family going against their Rabbi is like an extremely devout Catholic going against the Pope. It just doesn't happen without extreme anxiety and possible isolation from their entire community. Don't get me wrong, as a Jew raised in the Reform tradition, it infuriates me. But from my understanding, it is consistent with what most Orthodox Jewish families would do. As I wrote in another post, any Modern Orthodox or Orthodox Jews reading this - please feel free to correct me.

As a married woman I’ve realized that a child will not fix a relationship and the moment your partner admits to cheating , you can forgive them but you don’t have to stay with them. Anger issues as well and verbal abuse is a reason enough to leave them.

@@phillyphil201unless cheating was involved. Cheating was involved. You are correct though, when religion is the reason you won't divorce someone. Even when infidelity is obvious. A lot of people obviousely feel like the marriage can be saved if they try harder, be more attentive, dress better....its sad because once the cheating starts it rarely stops. Nothing you do will ever be enough to stop someone from cheating because it has nothing to do with you. Its all about the cheater.

@JBrodo
@JBrodo 11 ай бұрын
@@phillyphil201not necessarily. I don't know if Shele and Rob were practicing modern Orthodox Jews. But Reform and Conservative Jews, who make up 80% of the Jewish population in America, are not against divorce. In fact there is a specific clause in the Jewish marriage certificate (the Ketubah) called a "Get". The "Get" allows both people in the marriage to initiate/receive a divorce under Jewish law. Our Rabbi was extremely insistent and read over our Ketubah very closely to make sure my husband AND me as a woman would have no issues under Jewish law to obtain a divorce. Not because we plan on divorcing! But because he was also a Modern Orthodox Rabbi, and knew the trouble women could have getting a divorce. (Edit: I am a Reform Jew, we were married in a Conservative synagogue). Which could be the case in Shele and Rod's case, I don't know! I just wanted to weigh in that not all the "Jewish people" don't believe in divorce. Final edit: If any Modern Orthodox or Orthodox Jews read this and have any corrections on if "Gets" are indeed included for men AND women in Ketubahs, please enlighten/correct me 🙂

Rod's mentality is like that of a highly spoiled bratty teenager. He seemed to have something against hispoor daughter. Debra only told on him because they broke up. She entertained the idea of him murdering his parents and the things he had planned for his daughter, otherwise she would've done the right thing and reported him long before they broke up. Had he got his greedy little hands on that 5mil his wife worked so hard for it would've blown right through it and his kids would've been left with nothing. What a disgusting little jerk. Even his parents didn't like him. I hope he never gets out. I hope his kids see their father for what he really is.

Yes, Debra is no hero here… she only told on him because they broke up. She may have declined to partake in the murder plots prior to the breakup, but the fact that he continued to come up with plot after plot while she did nothing to either report his actions to the police or to get him psychiatric help (which would have lead to him being arrested as well, eventually - but “getting him help” would have at least meant that she did not tacitly approve of his plans and actions) just goes to show that she cared about neither the woman he’d already murdered nor about his own parents to whom he posed a real and compelling risk; she cared about being dumped. To be clear, I’m glad she told on him. I’m happy he was unable to access his ex wife’s money, because his children would never have seen a penny of it. But at the end of the day, Debra is no hero. If he had not broken up with her, she would have stayed silent and pissed through that inheritance right along side him.

This is exactly the kind of case that proves that sometimes murder is the answer. Rob needed to be murdered, when you have someone so abhorrent and repulsive that they are ruining your life and no matter what you do, they won't stop. Cops cannot arrest them. Nothing stops stalkers except death. If he had died instead. Then the world would be a better place. The kids would have their mother. Both families would be happy. Good for Carol & David calling out their POS son and looking out for the grandchildren. Debra was pissing me off, at lesst she redeemed herself in the end. But it was almost too late. My heart breaks for Anna. I hope she realizes the truth soon. I cannot believe she would want anything to do with him. Even if she thinks he didn't kill her mom. But all the other shit he tried to do to her and make her do..... WTAF!!! Wake up girl. She still has a brother and her grandparents, she needs to not ever speak to that POS again.

I hear what you are saying. I work around law enforcement. There are times I wish laws didn’t apply when someone acts in such an evil manner. I refuse to put murder on my conscience or my karma. I personally am convicted in my belief that God will judge us all. It is one thing to kill another in self defense. It is another thing to plan and kill a human being because you know they are evil. I don’t think it is okay to take the law into your own hands.

I’ll start by saying no one else is responsible for the victim’s death but the POS that killed her. That said, there’s a bunch of other steps to take before jumping to murder. Could have moved, could have evicted the POS from the apartment she was paying for, hell, the kind of money she made, she could have paid for a security audit and turned her apartment and cyber presence into Fort Knox. Again, it’s no one’s fault but the POS’s that she was killed, I’m just refuting your statement that murder was the only answer.

Thank. You. Really super tired of the "all lives are equal" thing bc some people MAKE it not true for themselves and they really do need to be culled but instead we "rehabilitate" them (give them time to figure out how to not get caught the next time) and set them loose in society to just do it again, often in escalation of whatever crimes sent them to prison to begin with. Humanity is tragic.

This case reminds me of a murder in my small town a few years back. While I had only met her once, she was good friends with 1 of my best friends. He had to testify in her trial. I'd love to see you cover her case. Our town is a small town, everyone knew her abusive ex husband had killed her even though it was chalked up to unaliving herself at 1st, despite evidence of a struggle and the fact that her ex was abusive. Her ex husband was a cop, so there were some allegations of cop looking out for cop. He ran and was eventually picked up in Arizona. No one has ever covered it last I looked, other than dateline and news in the area. Her name is Cassie farrington & her cop ex husband was named Bradly, in silver city nm if you're interested. I do hope you'll consider covering it. Thank you 💜

I have saved hate for the worst of the worst and teaching both children to lie about rape, stealing their college funds, beating and planning to kill your parents more than one. He was not just obsessed with the destruction of his kinds, hard working wife he was obsessed and would do anything to get money he did not earn. That Rabbi just might be taking money for his opinions regarding Autopsy in a very obvious murder. The Police were right to drop it right back on her parents for arranging the exhumation and autopsy then saying "Oh never mind." On the other hand it is disturbing to have the cause of death officially listed as "undetermined" when the Police can say "we deemed it an accident, just disregard the "official cause of death.". NY Policeman and precincts sadly have a history of excellence peppered with blatant corruption for money or political pressure from above. The Detectives who studied Anthony Weiner's laptop for his crimes and uncovered one or more snuff films under the file "Insurance" had an unbelievable death rate following the case being handed off because NY politicians and Top Police Brass would kill Cops rather than prosecute the perps.

my Aunt was killed by her abusive boyfriend on new years eve too. I’ve heard it on numerous stories. Might just be noticing an imaginary pattern, but i think there could be a connection. My aunt was gearing up to leave that loser once and for all. I think the Abusers see this as a chance to rob their victim of a fresh start. There’s also probably a higher likelihood of victims making “new year’s resolutions” to cut the abuser off, leave them, take legal action, etc. I do not know if this is a known trend, but i think its possible that the Hollidays are a particularly dangerous time for victims. Cold weather alone(greater isolation and time alone with abuser) is a known risk factor, but my aunt lived in Arizona. I think Its can be the holidays itself.
