Man this song hits. I believe in God but I’ve been so angry for so long and I don’t know how to reconcile how I feel with what I believe. The lyric that hit hardest for me is “where were you when everything was falling apart? All my days were spent by a telephone; that never rang when all I needed was a call that never came.” You start to question how bad do things have to get before He steps in and intervenes? How much pain and heartache do we have to endure before we’re rescued? You pray your hardest to no avail and eventually you just stop praying. You get used to being your own savior and that makes it harder to believe in the power of God. It’s okay to admit you’re angry at God. If you don’t think the prophets, followers, and righteous got angry at God go back and read Job 7

I'm shocked at the number of people who think this is an uplifting song about God finding you at your lowest point when it's literally about being mad at God for NOT being there, not communicating or listening during your lowest point. The chorus isn't uplifting, it literally implies suicide and that God approached them too late.

This song takes me back to the moments when I cry myself to sleep -- when I lost a mother, a lover, a job, my masters degree, and I was pregnant. Everything seemed to disappear but God is good. He redirected my path. I just held on to him. Now, I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. His plans are better than our own.

This song reminds me of my son. He committed suicide on December 21, 2016 He was found on the floor with a noose around his neck. I miss him his siblings miss him. He was so loved. He was funny, adventurous and so so sweet. He was just a good person every one loved him. I miss him. The last time I saw him he didn't say a thing to me he just grabbed me and gave me a big bear hug no words. So I hope if you are reading this and you feel like you just want to end your life. Please think of your loved ones. Pick up the phone and call a friend. I miss my son My family is not whole anymore there is a piece missing.
