I get what the Reboot wants to be and I can respect that, but I'll always prefer the OG.

All these adaptations bother me, it's as though they know the writing is not strong enough on its own so they need to build it on a skeleton of an older proven IP and get that built-in fan base.

This is a great summary...but the maker overlooks some details from the original show. First of all, Uncle Phil wasn't always a judge on the original show, either; he was a corporate lawyer the first couple of seasons before he ran for a judicial seat. Second, the first couple of seasons of "Fresh Prince" made it clear that Uncle Phil was a registered Republican, even though he'd been a left-wing radical back in the '60s. The original show never really explored *why* Uncle Phil made that switch over the years (although he wouldn't have been the first '60s radical to swerve rightward in the '70s and '80s; look at Eldridge Cleaver or Jerry Rubin). It arguably *couldn't* do that issue justice, since it was, after all, a sitcom. If anything, this new drama provides a great opportunity to delve into that kind of subject matter in depth. It remains to be see whether or not it will. Time will tell 🤷‍♀

I generally like the new show, but they did Hilary wrong I mean she’s super different from her og form except the outfits I would have like Hilary smart but her dream is to be a news woman and she is kind of shallow and rich spoiled but she’s also a mean girl, or something like that oh and I would like the jazz likes Hilary but Hilary doesn’t like him and thru the show they would fall in love

This has a biase racist undertone. Down playing sidelining the discrimination parts and Treated as nothing and that show who real is doing this reaction to a really good African American Drama. Fresh Prince is the Past Bel Air is the Future.
