I live in France and I work in a research institute, some time I don't get home until midnight but never ever felt unsafe although it is not my country. I am originally from Lebanon, and we people would never let women go outside alone at night without a man. He has to be her father, brother, or husband. Still if a woman did, she would find the stranger males in the street acting as her guards. That's for going outside, while for living alone, it is not an option too. I would sneak out of my house at night (after I turned 18 it wasn’t really sneaking out, but more like slipping away) usually just to walk around or run to the store just a minute away. I live in a holler with few houses, so it’s really peaceful at night. I don’t believe I was ever in danger here, but MANY of those nights I wandered down toward the main road, especially if I was going to the store. Without a single worry, usually getting stoned while I walk. Usually I was going to meet up and hang around with my bf at the time, who was way too old for me, so I never thought I had much of a reason to be afraid. Especially considering all my neighbors had capable men in the homes and “all I’d have to do is yell” is what I’d tell myself. There’s also times my friend and I would drive back in the mountains, down by the rivers, and just set outside in the dark, alone fishing and getting stoned or just walking around bored. All the times that something bad could’ve happened and no one would’ve even known where to begin to look for us, it gives me anxiety just to think about it. You couldn’t pay me to take those same risks today.

Fell backwards off a ladder. I was not in good shape. Fortunately I was able to move but what if I couldn’t and laid there for days. It’s little stuff that can make all the difference.

It wouldn’t have mattered in this case. It was the security guard to the building so even if she had a buddy he would have eventually broken into that apartment and committed the crime he committed.

She was at home already and she was dropped there by the women, the same way her friends would've dropped her. So even if they had dropped her, he still would've killed her because she was already at home when he broke in.

It take no skill to buy a gun; point it at a couple... kill the guy and abduct the girl. No trouble at all and it happens many times every day. If a girl is alone? She’s toast. What’s even scarier are the unsolved cases. One girl was raped, murdered and then the perp buried her in her car!! He literally dug a hole so deep they found her 30 years later. Don’t fool yourself. This peckerwood got caught but many many others go on to murder dozens and are never suspected.

The fact that they extended their sympathies to the killer’s parents speaks volumes about their character. And they’re right-when a loved one is murdered, the grief affects so many people, including the community at large. Still, it was lovely of them to say so.

I have a feeling that this was not his first murder. He most likely had killed or attempted to kill another girl perhaps. As you can tell he had not perfected this ability to get away with murder because he left his fingerprints and other clues in the apartment. He also let himself be seen on the camera inside the building taking out two trash bags which came from her apartment. So he definitely was not a pro at this but probably had done something like this before or something close to it

And I do believe that she presented the opportunity. There is a tendency: especially in places like Florida for women to ignore personal safety and to attract attention they don’t want. California has a similar problem. Most sexual predators are never caught or even accused. They attack and disappear without ever being suspected. As a guard; I hope it’s a valuable lesson to help you watch your colleagues. Remember what happened here and report strange people you work with. If people keep records of odd behaviour this kind of thing will reduce significantly .

The excitement overwhelms them. I imagine that he fantasised about the scenario so often that he couldn’t help himself. He also couldn’t believe his luck. Remember what it felt like to get a quick feel of a tit when you were a teenager? Or your first actual pretty girl? The excitement can overwhelm people and they go too far. Killing a victim is apparently a heady experience for those afflicted with sadism. The knowledge that you can kill her coupled with her vulnerability. She knows that you could kill her and she’s begging for mercy. His boner could cut diamond at that moment. So killing her is like a climax... it can happen very quickly and will never be something he regrets. It’s inexperience and a lack of iq points that guided his next moves.... and we know what happened there. Killers like this have no remorse. They may regret getting caught. They’ll know that they are hopelessly addicted to the kill. Stalking is fun for them as is the pain and panic of the victim. It’s substance abuse with pain and fear being the substance. You’re not a sadist so it seems foreign... so think about something illicit that you KNOW you shouldn’t like... but you LOVE. That’s sadism. It’s shameful... you would die of embarrassment if people knew this about you... but you can’t help thinking about it regularly.
