What an absolute legend Dermie is, one of the toughest players of all time
@carlmarks8170 Жыл бұрын
@johnnythepr1ck You are clueless. Brereton was one of the toughest and most fearless players ever.
@carlmarks8170 Жыл бұрын
@johnnythepr1ck He wasn't scared of getting hurt,; he constantly put his body on the line and went back into packs; he wore the hits, the knees in the back, the punches in the back of head, and he never took his eye off the ball; never took short steps nor shirked a physical contest. He absorbed more punishment than any forward I've ever seen and he played with numerous injuries. He was a big-headed tool and he was a dirty player too, He cleaned up many opponents. But he was also one of the most courageous centre half forwards ever.

Absolutely love Dermie and that's coming from a bomber. He was a champion player and he's a champion bloke

He did what he was known for . Tough , mean and when he got pissed he let them all know. The fact is he was colourful and great to watch ,and we miss this kind of player now.

The AFL wouldn't ALLOW Dermot Brereton NOW!!!

@@katesatriani If not for the religious fanaticism of the Victorians the AFL would be struggling now . The Kneeling for the BLM , The AFLW ( women stealing the mans game and playing badly ) , and the so called cleaning up the game and all the other woke virtue signalling that McLaughlin has done ( along with his family ) to Once Great Australian Game I no longer watch it and I canceled my Hawthorn Membership as well. The name of the game is Australian yet it is anything but now .

Dermie what a player 5 day and 5 night premierships/flags never get tired of hearing the great stories he tells)

Say what you will but he added colour and flair to the game and he made Centre Half Forward and desired position more than before!

Grew up with Derm at the latter stages of career but he was a Hoot as a character and just got up to the antics on the field. Best Niggler! A great of footy culture and great to hear him tell some of these tales.

Funny thing about this story is that hawthorn were up by 4 points at 3quarter time when this happened in 1988. Dunstall would get his 100th the following week against Fitzroy. I was at the game in question, so Dermott obviously embellished that we were 3 goals down. Love you Derm!

yeah hawthorn was up at every quarter except the first

the bombers and sheedy called his bluff more times than hed care to remember,so he got one in when least expected,? thats how it was back then,i remember as neither a bomber or hawk fan Essendon belting the living suitcases outta Hawthorn both with and without the ball for a long time after 1983,in fact even tho they got smashed in the '83 GF Essendon probably started belting hawthorn up when sheedy arrived in 1981 bout when Dermotts career began

Dermie went on the Fairstar in 1987 with a few of his mates, Had a few refreshments with him. A nice enough sort of bloke. Not that nice that it stopped me throwing a large chunk of ice at his jatz crackers and dropping him like a bag of shite. Yeah, sorry Derm, it was me!

Why is this show better than AFL footy show?
@chrisfi3d5 жыл бұрын
1. Because it is set in a ‘bar’ - this evokes masculinity. 2. There is no female in sight. 3. Aside from Andy’s terrible laughing, they work well together. 4. 7 own all the footage, and this is what the show is based on. 9 doesn’t have the old footage. 5. Well written, well researched, interesting guests.
@michaelmarshall17135 жыл бұрын
Because they have not tried to appease the feminazis and put a woman in there to show how gender loving they are . It is a mans game pure & simple and thats why we love it .
@eoinociarain79864 жыл бұрын
@@chrisfi3d Plus you cant have 3 funny men, it works because they have someone to take the piss out of, like the Footy Show had Doug Hawkins and Billy Brownless. The difference is they could play and radar is the dorky straight man.
