You can do it! I didn't learn how to play using chords and improvisation until I had been studying piano for 9 years! (I was trained in the classical method, where you started by reading notes).

Sir, l just found out your channel today. I never bored at learning piano. After decades of taking piano lessons from several qualified teachers from learning RCM .Reading note is not my issue the chord symbols are, therefore I preferred to play musics from notes, Sometimes l feel embarrassed. You have answered some of my questions. Thank you so much. May l buy you a cup of coffee. Classical music is my favorite, Bach is one of my favorite composer.

I have a question Mr. León, I’ve learn by ear and by watching others by videos I learn to play by left hand first for a bit and then learning the right and then adding together, but I do I have a question can I still learn by ear and once I learn I learn the song can I look at the song i learn by sheet music and learn sheet music that way?

That would be one way to learn. There really isn't only one way to learn to read sheet music. You may end up learning a song by ear, and then look at the sheet music and discover that some of chords are different, and that's OK. I think a good way to go is to learn to read sheet music (mainly lead sheets) and learn to play by ear at the same time. The sheet music helps you remember the song, once you've learned it largely by ear, but you don't necessarily learn the song just from reading the music.

Hello sir Your videos are so informative. Thanks . Have one doubt. My kid is playing keyboard chords on left hand. But you played in this video on right hand. Which hand is good for playing right or left?

You can play chords with either hand. I start by teaching students to play chords in the left hand so they can play the melody with the right. Then as they progress, I show them how to play chords in the right hand and create an accompaniment for someone who is playing the melody. I also show them how to play chords in the right hand while still playing the melody.
