I wasn’t planning on posting an update this week, but with everything going on at the minute I figured it would be good to have a bit of normality!
You’ll be pleased to hear there are no reporting cases of Coronavirus at either Buckdale or Ponden!
In this video I’ve run all 19 engines currently residing on the railway.

As I don't have room for a model railway it is nice to see them on You Tube especially ones like this.Love all the sound effects,scale speed and seemingly endless wagons full of coal on the goods trains.Very realistic.I used to spend hours making scenery for our set when I was 13/14 years old in 1963/64.

Amazing! Phenomenal amount of work. Sound effects including ambient birdsong, shunting, grass growing through the sleepers, the dry viaduct valley, even the coal bunker at the station like the one I remember from over thirty years ago. Everything so rural and beautiful. The shot at 10.00 could be mistaken for absolute reality. Your art and dedication is awesome. Thanks so much for a real treasure of a channel.

Thank Lewis - Another lovely video to cheer us oldies self isolating. (Thank heaven for my Critters and model railway+hubby's amateur radio). Greg is right - these must take you hours to put together. The sound tracks are syncronized SO beautifully. Suppose we can't expect you to hire a camera helicopter for every video - but we SO appreciate and honour your work to entertain us. Looks as though our beloved Mid Suffolk Light is preparing to perhaps close for the summer! Is Nene Valley? Keep safe Lewis - Teresa & Paul, Findhorn Light.

Thanks Teresa, and Paul! That’s it, if you didn’t have your hobbies you’d be going insane! That’s a shame, but for the best given the circumstances. The Nene Valley is closed until further notice as well. Hopefully they can keep some donations coming in. When they will all reopen is anyone’s guess! Keep safe as well.

You forgot to add Mallard to the list. You have 20 engines altogether. That stinky box on wheels needs replacing by another gleaming steamy. I have a story idea I hope you will like. The Yorkshire Dales Railway had undergone a gleaming make-over. The one grimy box on wheels had broken down and stopped dead, he couldn't move at all. His motor had rotted away completely. A shrill Swindon whistle, echoing in the sunshine, made Mouldy Raspberry jump half a mile. Rood Ashton Hall and her gleaming Shakespeare Express train took off from Ponden Station. The clean set had NEM couplings that the gent realised he dare not remove. Kelly wouldn't be too pleased. The young lady, having appeared like magic, worked hard to make everything sparkle and shine. The rickety ramp crossing was replaced by a smoother one. If a wheelchair user needed to cross, it would be better. Last but not least, Kelly did away with all the Kaydee couplings. The engines and rolling stock were glad to get their original NEM couplings back. They felt more like their British selves again. "Phew! We thought we'd be mistaken for American engines and rolling stock forever," they sighed with relief. Mouldy Raspberry learned that in order to tell a Hornby engine apart from a Bachmann one, NEM couplings were best on them. Mouldy Raspberry never used Kaydee couplings again. The NEM couplings were better in more ways than one. Make no mistake. The diesel was done away with. Kelly had him replaced by a gleaming Jubilee engine named Bahamas. Mouldy Raspberry was more fond of pristine steamies than grimy boxes on wheels, which were always coming apart on him. He said so. It's better to have NEM couplings on your models. Having them mistaken for American ones would never do.

Thanks very much! I did have an 8F, but I sold that that to my friend Ross. Had to keep the collection from growing too big!

Mouldy Raspberry thanks for the update. 8F’s are one of my favourite locos actually but I’m sure it’s in good hands. I model 7mm myself and have a small shed layout (Newton Grove 19F) and my pride is my 8F: 48773. Keep the videos rolling in. Love your layout!

Excellent modelling! I'll certainly be watching more of your videos. I'm curious about the sound; do you record steam engines at restored railways, or are all the train sounds pulled from some other source? How much time and trouble is it to match the sounds to the video? You do it quite well!
@MouldyRaspberry

Thanks Michael. Yes, I either use the audio from things I’ve filmed, mostly at my local heritage railway or other people kindly allow me to use the audio from their clips. I don’t find it too much trouble, but I guess it depends on how accurate you want to get it. You could faff around with it for hours if you wanted to.

Just a little problem here with the continuity; at 3 minutes and 46 seconds the diesel-hauled goods train pulls in to Ponden station and at 3 minutes 56 seconds it passes Pondon Station signal box!

Great bit of entertainment for me, especially now I’m in isolation. (Don’t worry I’m fine). What happened to Bude? Did you sell it on? Great video mate keep up the great work. Cheers Ross.

Thanks very much Ross, hope you’re coping alright! Yes Bude moved on to pastures new! I’ll probably end up getting another Bullied at some point though.

Mouldy Raspberry aha, coping barely. Luckily I have the trains to occupy me. Shame bude has been reallocated, if I was to recommend a bullied it’s definitely gotta be a merchant navy. Particularly the rebuild they’re great loco’s. I have many bullieds but my model of 35004 Cunard White Star is my favourite. But my unrebuilt Clan Line is also very nice and a very smooth runner. Anyways 2 days of isolation down 12 more to go.... looks like I’m binge watching KZfaq lol. Have a good weekend, Ross.

Well remembered! 44762 I traded in, I think for the B1 or the K1... same with 34006, the 8F and my other Standard 5MT. Rather than amass a big collection I’d rather just sell somethings occasionally and try something new. The B17 doesn’t have a motor so doesn’t really count!
