There is a gamerule in 1.20 that allows lava source conversion like at 4:30. The world icon being the same could mean it is a practiced run for the set seed category. The basement as Linkus said only generates in igloos which do not look like that on the inside, the also never contain more then 1 potion/apple. The portal room is also a dead giveaway.

Some quick things I noticed from watching this: 4:30 You can actually make an infinite lava source in vanilla, but it requires a gamerule which is most likely not allowed for this type of run. 5:00 If you pay attention you might notice that Runner#2’s skin has changed mid-run, which I’m quite sure you can’t do mid-game on Java Edition, even then you can’t do it secretly I don’t think 8:48 Unless there was a cut in the video, I don’t think you can change where the platform spawns, and it respawns every time someone enters the end, so it being wide most likely them attempting to make it easier I guess? I’m honestly not sure. Ok thats all I noticed, some others may have already noticed it but this is what I found so yeah thanks for reading. Edit: grammar

For lava it's now possible with a gamerule He can't use a custom mod that easily due to his Badlion

4:36 There's a gamerule called lavaSourceConversion which can be turned on to enable this type of behavior. I don't think it's allowed regardless.

Actually... Infinite lava source is possible in vanilla... It is a "More World" option where you can find "No Fire Tick", "Random Tick Speed" and "Keep Inventory" stuff... But yeah, that isn't modded :) Just as information for later videos in case you do see that again

This one wasn't a fake one, but it was an idiot, they went to creative, started the video after the world was loaded, then built a nether portal, and did /kill. They weren't joking either, they legitimately thought that was qualifying

The infinite lava thing is a gamerule that was added in 1.20. I think it was something like lava source conversion and there is also one for water with which you can basically disable infinite water sources

'Fake' speedruns are now probably more popular than actual speedruns. Things have gotten so awkward that people actually fake fake speedruns for the clout/exposure.

The infinite lava source is a gamerule that you can select at world creation. You can also turn off the infinite water source in the same menu. However it's not a part of default Minecraft so it's not legit for speedruns
