The Future NBA Superteam That Nobody Talks About (Houston Rockets)
In this Video I will be explaining why I believe the Houston Rockets may have one of the brightest future of any team in the Western Conference and NBA in general! With the Rockets Jumping all the way from the 8th overall pick to the 3rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery, they will certainly have the basketball in their court as far as their future is concerned! With Emerging Stars like Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith Jr., Cam Whitmore and a surplus of NBA Veterans like Fred VanVleet, Dillon Brooks and Steven Adams who will be led by Head Coach Ime Udoka, the Houston Rockets could be and NBA Playoff Team Next Season in the NBA Western Conference... Hope You Enjoy!

Reed Sheppard. FVV has a max contract this year and next year is a team option. Stone set this up so he can come off the books when JG and Sengun end their rookie contract. Reed under FVV for a year would be great if not 2 years. This 2 years can be done by trading JG for future assets and a backup big, then move on from him and just resign Sengun is an option that I like. I agree with your take on Cam Whitmore and I would love to see him be the starting SG by the second half of next season. All this is a bold move, but Whitmore would be a dominate 6' 7" 2-way SG, who is a very efficient scorer. JG is a bucket and very inefficient. There is also a logjam at SF and by moving Cam to SG will free up some time there. I would also move on from Tate. This will define minutes and roles at PF, SF and SG. Here is my ideal Starting lineup for 2025. PG - VanVleet SG - Whitmore SF - Brooks PF - Smith C - Sengun

Most Rockets fans seem to want Reed Sheppard which I’m not against because he’s a fit and elite shooter, but I like Topic (I know he’s had injury issues), Castle, and Buzelis due to their potential

Them trading Green would be a worse move than the Texans trading prime DHOP
@NOJSIP
@NOJSIP 2 ай бұрын
@@jacobrapportkingreyes4413 Well, Green could become a great player and he showed some promise of turning the corner second half of last season, but the Rockets will have to make a cap room decision on who of the core 6 they keep. JG and Sengun's contracts will expire after this season. They will have to choose a direction sooner or later. JG is very inefficient for a SG, plus he has been very immature and his personal life is a ?? mark right now. The Rockets have Whitmore who has been splitting time at SG & SF and that makes JG expendable. Drafting Reed on a 4-year rookie contract makes JG even more expendable and extends the new core 6 longer. Besides, DHOP was never going to take the Texans to the promise land and he didn't take Phx there either. I loved watching DHOP play, but the reality is he has no rings. I see that JG is exciting too, but he is not efficient enough to lead a team to a ring, which makes him a valuable piece player. I say, cash in on his value while they can and move on from him. I also say...That the Rockets should sign me to a max contract and let me ride the bench a couple years.

I really like Shepperd for the Rockets. He answers their most glaring offensive fault with his shooting, imo. Sengun's defense aren't as bad as people make it out to be. Rockets were a top 5 defensive team when he was healthy. He is not your typical shot blocker, rim protector but he has great hands and very good instincts. If he improves his three point shot and his free throws and continue to hold his own defensively, he is 3rd team All-NBA next season, at the very least.

I agree Houston is slept on. we will experience a simular rise like OKC had this year in our next year. while flying under the radar we have drafted very well and now we have a coach who knows how to extract that talent. this journey back to respectability hasn't been all peaches and cream. watching some of the growth has been painful, but necessary when developing young players. we may be slept on right now, but next year we are going to wake some people up. as for the #3 pick I think we should take Castle or trade it. I prefer to trade it for something we can use now.

Totally agree with that! It’s great to hear this from a rockets fan’s perspective! I’m assuming you are because you said "we." I couldn’t be higher on the future of this team. I think whatever Houston does with the pick is fine because it’s almost like a free asset to begin with lol they are just rolling in great assets and future studs! Love the feedback and insight, thanks for taking the time to leave that comment, you’re a legend and your team is going places! 🙏🏻💛🔥

No, Castle can’t shoot and the Rockets are one of the worst shooting teams in the league. If the Rockets are going to draft a guard…it should be Dalton Knecht.
@samueldeblaw9677
@samueldeblaw9677 2 ай бұрын
@@slickrick8046 I like Dalton, but 3rd is to high to take him. would consider in a trade down. shooting is something we should trade for or sign in FA. we shouldn't rely on a rookie to fix that for us. Castle can't shoot now, neither can most of the prospects in this draft with Dalton and Sheppard being the only exceptions. what he does bring to the table is DEFENSE. I think the shot will come around especially since we have time to groom him
@slickrick8046
@slickrick8046 2 ай бұрын
@@samueldeblaw9677 No it’s not. People are just sleeping on Knecht. I just saw a mock draft of him going at the 7th pick. I won’t be surprised if he continues to move up. Knecht is the most electric player in this draft *and the Rockets are near the bottom in practically every scoring category.* Castle has the make up of Amen…who we already have. Also, the Rockets already have a top 10 defense. It was our shooting that failed us this past season. We need someone who can dribble, shoot, score, and can consistently iso when needed. Dalton fits that mold.
@slickrick8046
@slickrick8046 2 ай бұрын
@@samueldeblaw9677 If you look at the Synergy Offensive Play Type Rankings...the Rockets are 29th in Isolation, 25th Off Screens, 23rd in Transition, and 21st in Spot Ups. They are 4th in Hand Offs which is great, but they only do that 4% of the time. *Those numbers are SCREAMING that the Rockets need a shooter.* Having a point guard whose shooting isn’t respected, like Castle, isn’t going to solve those issues. Defenses will just back off him, stick with their man, and dare him to shoot. Which isn’t going to help the other players because most of those dudes have issues with their handles (especially Jabari).

@@DeHave You're fine. Great video, by the way! The problem with Tate is that, yes, he's a hustler and a workhorse, but he's generally overrated. He's pretty inefficient, which is pretty obvious, but his defense is massively overrated as well; he's decent at best on that end and gets consistently cooked on a nightly basis. None of it would be that bad if his shot diet wasn't so horrible; he shoots like he thinks he's MJ and CONSISTENTLY shoots us out of close games. Jalen did the same, but he is a rhythm shooter and expected to take that many shots; Tate does it and messes up the offense + Green's rhythm while getting cooked on defense at the same time. It's just super frustrating to watch him do the same dumb things every night.

Ahhh okay I see. I definitely know the type, very frustrating to root for a player like that. Thanks for putting that so well and concisely! Someone as a sixers fan I can definitely compare that to is like Tobias Harris but for almost opposite reasons. In Toby’s case he was so hesitant to take shots and be aggressive that he would just disappear in big games. He’s a talented player and has a lot of great qualities but like you said with Tate, so frustrating to root for. Very interesting! Thanks so much for that info, I totally understand it now, and I’m really glad you enjoyed the video, it means a ton! You’re a legend 🙏🏻🔥

Hate to be a Rockets snob, but did you do any research or did you get the cliff notes from Bleacher Report? Reed Shepard (a PG who can also play off ball) has been touted by scouts and multiple sources (with video) as being a REALLY GOOD DEFENDER with quick hands who gets tons of steals! Smart defensively too. Don't be just another stat-reciting podster. We got enough of those. Do some analysis. You can do better.
