Thanks for doing the distance test! It drove me crazy that nobody else was testing that. I watched several videos on it but this is the only one to actually gave me the information I needed. Subbed!

DJI lav sounds impressive. It's a keeper.

Great recommendation for travelling. I'm still in the hope of upgrading to Sony Mirrorless and this would help if I go that route.

It won’t solve all of your audio problems, but you will be hard pressed to find a better option when it comes to travel and quick rip recording! I’m glad I got my hands on one 💪🏼

Great review, but you now leave me wanting to see the " How I make the 'processed' audio" video as it's cleary a lot better :) Does this exist on your channel?
@ScottSalvi3 күн бұрын
Nice video Dan. When you say "processed" what exactly did you use? I'm assuming a compressor, Limiter & EQ? I know with my Rode, I barely have to process anything. Normally I just check levels. It would be nice to have a much smaller mic and no cable!

I purchased this mic also...but, I have to say your lavalier tie mic sounds much better than ECM-M1 to me, why? M1 is very expensive and usually it sounds worse than the mic used for the reviews.. Many thanks for the video :)

24bit 4 channel is a killer feature.
@danvirchowАй бұрын
That and the auto gain on here are reasons enough to get one!

@@danvirchow Out doors that's indeed my go to mode, but I think I'll set it manually indoors to avoid potential noise floor. Should be tested though as it might work perfectly.

Multi-interface shoe came out around the time the a6000 was introduced in fall 2014. It has taken a long time to properly develop proprietary accessories for it but it was introduced because the NEX-7 was using a minolta (Sony-specific) hot shoe and people wanted the standard hot shoe. Then they added pins to it to make it more useful.

This is good info! Thank you for sharing.

Actually, it started coming on Handycams in the late 2000s, way before Sony entered the Photography game with its Alphas. My SR-11 had it.

Great vid, I wanted the rode one aswell but one con for me is that for vlogging it only picks up in front and not behind you. In my case I needed for vlogging

I just took this little mic to Europe for 40+ days and was amazed at the quality! Used it in auto the entire time.
@stevievlogs_Ай бұрын
Quality was on point, was the handling noise loud while moving and vlogging?
@danvirchowАй бұрын
@@stevievlogs_ not at all from the footage I’ve reviewed. I was amazed at how well the auto gain held up during concerts. Perhaps I’ll make another video with some of that footage.

Waiting to consider the ECM-M1. Most reviews nailed it so watching yours as well. Let's go. By the way.. is the Mic 30bit flow or 24? That's why we are called Sony!! We are in our own galaxy.
@danvirchow3 ай бұрын
The sound quality definitely won't blow you away, but with some processing you can get a lot out of it. And it's SO SMALL. Easy to take with you everywhere!
