Very interesting. I hope these are Disney Promises that they can keep and they will not have to cut corners on the content they showed to save money.

We have a Meta2. The first thing I said when we got it was how cool it would be if they would make the theme parks VR so that everyone could experience them. Not all of us can afford the prices to travel to Disney Paris, or Disney Tokyo. Not all of us are physically able to do the parks. This technology has so many useful benefits. Travel being one of them…going without going. Great video brother. Loved your last day of Splash. Very heart felt. Keep bring the best content to us all and sharing your experiences.

One of the things I thought of while watching yesterday’s presentation, was to imagine taking a ride like Pirates of the Caribbean and/or It’s a Small World through this device, truly magic!

This looks so cool! Yes seeing the MSEP on my kitchen counter would be great. I’m so on the fence though.. would be nice to have if my favorite band was not playing locally then I could still see them and have the experience but nothing compares to being there in real life, I would rather be at a sporting event getting beer spilled on my shoes than being in my living room! Again the technology is fantastic guess I’m a lil old school!! 😂

Not totally sure how I feel about Paperclip Mickey, but I would definitely love to see MSEP or Wondrous in my own living room. Thanks for bringing us into the future! Time to start an Apple Vision Pro Fund! 😂

With ESPN moving to cord cutting from traditional cable, this could be really huge to continue to build value with expensive sports programming.

I can't wait to isolate myself even more from others and have more screens because you know we all love screen based rides. Another great thing is that I no longer have to miss not being at home looking at my messy living room... it will always be here, in my goggle world.. When I watch a movie or game with my loved ones we can all have goofy looking goggles on I hate looking at them and having to interact anyways. The creepy Apple demo ad reminds me of the first cringy Star Wars Hotel commercial. Great tech but the wrong use. This will be a specialty device used for things like the medical field or POV game play or military training.

While the 3500 is a huge amount, This also is set out to replace many other electronics. Eventually i could see apple pushing this as an all in one product. Additionally, they are creating a live beta test for devs. Get it out into the world to perfect for a few years. Let the devs get rear world feedback and tune it before mass adoption. I feel this is exactly some of the tech Disney needed to help push forward. So glad Chapek is not at the helm with this on the horizon.

Brickey you speak the truth, but omitted one point. In the What If? Segment we saw Disney put something on the wrist of the user. A bangle if you will. Based on this we will be able to interact with content in a manner that allows the user to “be a superhero.” What we saw yesterday was merely a glimpse of what and where this technology can take us. Apple referred to it as “dimensional computing” but I believe in the case of Disney we are talking about “dimensional storytelling” and that is only limited by the imagination of the storytellers. That’s what’s so damn exciting. Can’t wait. You are right. We saw the future and it was compelling.

I remember walking through Pandora 6yrs ago on my Samsung Gear VR headset using my Galaxy Note 8 & Google Earth. I got it for under 200 bucks. I just love how Apple fans think things are brand new when Apple launches new features and products (Dynamic Island aka the LG notch from 2019 on the LG V10, which my wife owned). Looks nice though. FYI for 3500 I can take an Alaskan 7 day cruise for 4 on Royal Caribbean May 24 2024.

With this video, you’ve just earned a subscriber. When I watched the presentation, I felt like this was bigger and better than apples "iPhone" moment. The iPhone was a big deal and it still is, but I think the reason why the iPhone took off was because of the App Store. You can do all the marketing you want, but the greatest marketing comes from the people around you. So when everyone is making apps and experiences, this is going to blow up! And while Apple is making immersive content, you will be able to take 3-D photos and 3-D video. What trips me out is your standard, mainstream KZfaqr, part two of mature to have vision to see the future of this product and this technology. And all they can see is $3500. they don't realize while $100,000 is a lot of money, $100,000 for a $10 million home is a steal! I’m actually glad that the product is expensive because that means that they are not cutting corners. I just hope that the KZfaqr did a good enough job at swatting away a lot of the people that would buy this and not use it. That way hopefully I can get mine on Day One.

This looks awesome, and as a hockey nerd, I love the idea that real time stats about the game I'm watching could be accessed by turning my head and looking at screens to the side of the game. Of course my first question is how it would work with the immensely stupid local blackout restrictions 😂

The price has some sticker shock but as soon as I saw some of the images and capabilities it seemed as reasonable as a high end gaming or graphics computer. I don’t have that kind of money, but if I did, I would. I do have an iPhone. But that’s it. Lukewarm on apple at best. But this looks clean!!

I feel old, but this reminds me of all the promises and excitement about the possibilities of DVDs - this futuristic, "indestructible" media - where you could pick the angle you'd watch a scene from, take control of everything you watch, all these amazing claims... And yes, sure, a step up from VHS but nowhere near as life-changing as they promised. Sure this tech will show you a bunch of stats beside the action - but they're gonna be 80% adverts and will the info provided be the info you want to know? Customisation is bad for ad revenue. Animations running along what it calculates is a flat surface? cute little gimmick but to me, in the same category as the theme park "Magic shots" - fun, sure, not enriching. IDK, I'm sure there will be some impressive applications of the tech but mostly for the advertising sponsors!

Great job on doing the narrative here! In addition to lower prices in the future, I'm most excited for the form factors. I sweat a lot in the Oculus after an hour and the Apple looks to be smaller. But I'm hoping smaller form factors that we can wear multiple hours come about. Remember the Google Glasses? Those were a great form factor that anyone could wear all day.

With apple vision pro, movie studios can sell directly to the consumer on cinema release dates. Theatres take 50% of the box office so the studios can sell the tickets half the price of a cinema ticket, but mostly charge 70% and it’s still cheaper than an actual ticket. we will mostly likely see a new wave of 3d movies, and I think it came at a great time with with the release of avatar and the announced sequels. I can’t wait for the new possibilities which this can bring.

Speaking of the "future", does anyone think that the future will also be Apple buying and incorporating the Disney Company? There have been rumors in the past and Iger has said that it would have happened had Steve Jobs lived. Maybe a merger is the future as well.

To me the only standout feature of this headset vs Oculus and some of the others is that its 'AR' and not 'VR'. The more recent VR headsets have very useful passthrough modes (being able to see physical presence by use of camera), but others cant see your eyes. With this you could actually have a conversation with someone physically and they can see your eyes and not just a black box strapped to your face. VR has been around for years though and I think this is another case of Apple brining an existing product, making it a bit snazzier/simpler for the general population. Make no mistake this is still largely a Business/Prosumer product though.
@mushieslushie

Ooook so it's not actually see though, it's actually just like any other VR headset with video passthrough and it's actually a display on the front that makes it appear see though.

When I look at immersive vs reality experiences the line getting more narrow but could see people watching Apple vision content than going to movies with friends and going to Disney World and so on but I feel that both experiences people going to want to experience but Apple Vision Pro to justify the price tickets cost travel expenses but I’m curious for example if we can go Disney World with Apple Vision Pro will the price be very reasonable I’m assuming that there will definitely be a cost it is amazing 0:01 but when it drop down to 1999 in very excited to but 3500 I can wait my reason are 1. Price too much 2. Battery life 3. Wearing comfort level after couple hours 4. I can wait for next cheaper model

I say this for someone who don’t like to travel because of , cost, security etc this will be perfect you basically experience what others are experiencing without time cost & security concerns I think once price is right sporting events theme parks movie theaters will feel pressure from Apple Vision Pro you can experience multiple experiences more than your budget will allow you too in real world so why think Apple Vision Pro going be major game changer

The Disney portion of this presentation was some of the weakest blue sky vapor ware bs in an already incredibly underwhelming roll out. First of all, what they showed was a very shallow retreading of existing content. Felt like it was a last minute addition to the presentation. Wow, a big floating screen in my living room. How innovative. Wow, a big floating screen in a virtual room painted like a Star Wars setting. Wow, a overwhelming avalanche of distracting nonsense yelling at me around the big floating screen with a sports event. Wow, now I get to enjoy all this stuff all by myself, hiding behind a digital screen as I sit here in isolated from my family who is presumably doing the same thing a few feet away from my. It sounds like the antithesis of what Walt was aspiring for when he designed the park. Lame is an understatement. Dystopian.
@mushieslushie
@mushieslushie Жыл бұрын
The most realistic portion of the Disney part of the presentation was watching a movie in the Tatooine/Land speeder setting (VR headsets have been capable of this for almost a decade now) and the electrical parade going around on the table (which is something that is possible with AR on your cell phone). Everything else was super pre-rendered/concept looking.
