Gonna be honest, physical media is gonna die eventually. I f**king hate that. We should always have a choice.

I have a PS4 VR game thats a paperweight its called Eve something, a 1st person spaceship game that blew me away. It had an online following for awhile, til it didnt. Im not worried still

If physical completely dies I'm good with the games I own. I have enough physical games and movies to watch for decades! Maybe if something new is AMAZING maybe I will check it out.

In my opinion, anything aimed at mainly all digital is for younger generations, the ones who are not on here watching this, the ones who already are growing up with digital as a norm. Physical media will not go anywhere but become a niche market. Most younger generations will do as their peers do and instead of the digital age on the horizon, it will b reality and 99% of people will b part of it in some form or way.

Or, you could sell the games you dont like. Most collections have games i would never even look at twice lol

As long as a game has DRM and a game don'r work offline - then you don't own those games technically. Support GOG if you're on PC, as most of their single-player games work offline.

I play games for 30+ years and to be honest I don’t see any reason to keep them on physical media anymore. Most of the games I played during this time I finished once and then they gathered dust on shelf. There were games I finished multiple times since they had different campaigns for different races or different endings. What I like about services like game pass on Xbox is that I pay to access a library of games I can simply finish and pick up another one. However I have different approach to owning music and movies on physical media. Especially the latter as many of the films I like to watch are on different streaming platforms. I digitised all my movies and I have a library of over hundred titles. I often go out to flea markets or online and buy used dvds with movies for couple of dollars and rip them to mkv. Same with music I still use my iPod Classic 6th gen with my whole library on it. I also buy vinyl and cds second hand.

Well you can buy into it or don’t, I prefer don’t. I sold my Xbox series X two days ago because I will not ever buy digital games or movies. I don’t even pay into pay services except boomerang. This digital crap is the fault of the people. People caused this and the companies seen that they can get away with it. But I will not buy into it. Piracy is open season now. If the others follow then I will not buy there’s ether. We do have about 70 years of games anyway so I will pirate and buy games from the past and just consider the world of video games is dead. I will relive the Commodore 64 and Amiga era again. Piracy, Piracy, Piracy.
