Personally I feel that the batreps are stagnant. I’m seeing the same armies over and over. There isn’t a lot of variety. Also I think you should do same more comp. games. Reach out to ITC team Canada and have them come in and do some Comp games explaining ITC rules for those of us that would like to get involved. Or even a in house tourney. We all like the kill team and blood bowl matches.

Why not do patreon. Like a dollar is a thank you $5 has your name show up at the end of the show and $10 has a model named stuff like that.

Seeing the reduction of in house painting etc was fairly clear that things were a bit tighter. As a silver vault member I'd say it's incredibly good value! I've spent far far more on these hobby games as a result of your fun content than I spend once a year on great vault content

Would love to see more Math-hammer videos, comparing units in the same codexes to consider best value, or strategies for fighting strong units or common lists etc, utilising new rules to design new lists etc

Appreciate the transparency!! Have you tried searching for new video platform providers? Maybe look into AWS (Amazon Web Services) to host your own video platform? AWS can be expensive too so you would have to specifically plan for the cloud so you avoid those pitfalls

When you talk about lack of growth in subscriptions, what is your retention like? Are you gaining new vault members but losing older members, which creates the illusion of stagnation? Or are you simply not gaining new members but keeping all of your current members? If you're not retaining members well enough, perhaps consider minor rewards for a year of membership or a free trial for silver if you're a bronze member? I've been a member for 5 years and it's kind of frustrating sometimes to see the giveaways of content to drag in new members, but no real reward for loyalty over the years. These kind of incentives could also help tempt new members in too, give them a reason to keep their subscription on after the free trial, and then encourage them to keep it on longer and longer.

I've only recently discovered you folks and I really hope y'all are able to get through this and keep on doing this thing you obviously care so much about.

Honestly, I don't expect MWG to read or respond to this, but I figured i'd throw my $.02 american out there. A great friend of mine had an amazing anecdote for his small business that's kept him alive for over 20 years.. "If you don't grow, you die." Perhaps part of the issue is the content. Battle reports are cool, but that's pretty much all you guys do now...and yes, narrative campaigns are battle reports, just with a theme. At this point, 90% of content is created for a single type of customer. I remember when vault content was a bit more diverse. There were Battle reports sure, but there were terrain tutorials, painting tutorials, the variety shows (Dave's animated shorts), LoaWG, the live shows from content creators, etc. Today, it's Battle reports, themed battle reports in the form of narrative campaigns, and some behind the vault, with an occasional smattering of other content. Painting tutorials died years ago in lieu of quick tips, to now nothing (because you guys sponsor painting studios in trade for advertising). Terrain tutorials died ( because you guys trade terrain for advertising). Heck, even Dave has pretty much fallen of the face of the earth with the Banter batreps. One of my favorite contents of the Vault back in the day was the pie challenges....hilarious! The other thing to consider is missed opportunities...when you guys were building the bunker, you guys used an epic amount of 3d printing..and honestly I had though that you guys might take that opportunity to maybe do some wargaming 3d printing videos, or heck sell the .stf files you guys used in the bunker to customers....nope none of that and yes I suggested that via e-mail, comments on vids to no response. Which ties into why I left the vault. I left the vault years ago when the focus shifted from a broad scope of topics surrounding wargaming including batreps, to batreps, with a narrow scope on anything else. Couple that with the surveys that went out for a few years that apparently fell of deaf ears and I sadly stepped away. I genuinely hope MWG makes it through this as I enjoy the YT content, unfortunately for me it will never be more than YT views as long as that content stays in it's narrow lane of batreps.

Simply dont want to pay for yet another streaming service. I'm all good on those and there are plently of other people out there who do the stuff they are doing for free so I dont see the point.

I just joined the vault 2 days ago and already love it, was watching you for a long time. I hope your Ideas are a success.

Would like to suggest some things. I was a vault member and found that even though I was paying for the content I still would choose to watch KZfaq content. Reasons are listed below: 1. I watch AOS only and there is not enough vault AOS per month for me 2. AOS content is not great, aside Luka content was not to a standard I believe was better than other KZfaq channels 3. Website even with update seems dated. Can’t sort to find Sole AOS vids, cant download to watch rather than having connection, if away for a while unsure which vids I have/haven’t watched as it doesn’t say on the vid which would help, no app. 4. Comments on videos on vault didn’t get replies even when asking for your thoughts making it seem like commenting was not worth the time I feel like these fixes would make a huge difference 😊

Hoping for the best. Between keeping me in the hobby while I was isolated, to even getting a chance to work and film as a team member, I want nothing but the best for you guys! Move battlereports that are 2-3 years old out of vault and into KZfaq. I don't think vault members will care for those old battle reports and you will decrease vimio traffic, don't know by how much but maybe it will help. Good luck on fighting the good fight. Vault member for life, literally. ;)

The main reason i dropped my vault subscription was because the video player didn't seem to work at all on mobile devices, which is where i would watch/ listen to the videos

Honestly this is my most watched 40k channel, I have only recently joined the vault, and I have to say i adored your shattered imperium campaign and I'm always looking forward to the next narrative campaign, I hope you guys can continue making videos.

I've seen this coming some time ago when channels like Striking Scorpion, TabletopTactics and winters SEO started to explode. the main difference with those channels is, that these guys know the rules and play the game according to it (sure a mistake is made here and there). but miniwargaming as fun as they are don't play the game (40k that is, dunno about AOS) according to the rules but play a mish mash of remembered rules. this is a major turn off for people who want to see the game played "right".

Im so sorry that your expenses just skyrocketed, you are just amazing all of you, proud vault member for just about 3great years. Never tried the store but chtistmas is coming so i would gladly make your products a big part of that. I have a suggestion that i already know you probably think is bad is that give vault members the options to pay more to support for a shorter time, please think about it because you guys revolutionised the online battlereporttrend. As a Silver Vault member, Twitch Subscriber, and huge fan. This. Studio. Is. Worth. It. It’s rare to find a long term studio that keeps churning out content they enjoy. I’m not saying they don’t burn out, but they have the staff to move around to keep everyone having fun. If you haven’t at least tried the vault, please do yourself a favor. I can’t begin to imagine where my models would be without the Quick Tips. The Painting Auxilium is fantastic. I would pay more money for my vault membership if I could!!

Vimeo *increase* is rather space rocket. That increase is more MORE than unfair. Try maybe more often tours around vault(if you can) give paint lessons army & strategy lessons etc. Maybe open vault gift shop or something? Maybe add some ads to tv or newspaper around nearest towns to attract more people. Hang in there guys im sure you gonna make it! Edit: I almost forgot! Maybe add to merch store t shirts or something? Just resubbed. I let my access lapse a year or two ago because I no longer had time to sit down and watch nearly as many videos as I used to. That hasn't really changed, but you guys are the trailblazers in this field, a genuine inspiration to so many of us, and you deserve to keep doing the good work. My friends and I came up this past summer. We were hoping to see their battle report go up. They did a 4 person free for all with Steve. Figured I would throw that concern up here. We did have a lot of fun at the new bunker and would suggest it to anyone. Though I would like to add there seems to be a noticeable increase in editing errors like the one that made me skip watching Skarred cast's last battle report on your channel. Hope thats helpful. You guys helped us get into the hobby and I can't thank you enough for that.

It opened up a new door that I never knew existed. I'm a avid gamer and working towards a game design degree and really enjoy your content on here. Not sure if someone has mentioned it (lots of comments), but when White Dwarf magazines dropped in numbers they changed the content, added new elements but also brought back old elements that readers enjoyed. Why not try something like The Tale of 4 Gamers with different armies not seen on the channel. Or bring in professional gamers to showcase beautifully painted armies / very beardy armies. I will be joining today however as you guys rock, and I really want to come to meet you. Hope to see you soon.

Saving costs ideas and attraction drawing ideas: - get more armies covered! No one is playing drukhari, harlequins, sisters of battle; people like them - get the rules right especially vito. I personally dont really care too much but seen bunch of comments that they stoped the video cause there were 5 mistakes in 3min - cut very old and low view videos to save on data - keep the nothing but narrative stuff going! Gets people in who dont like watching 1 hour videos - instead of 2 days per week with 40k videos have 3 days and mix it up: 1 day conpetetive itc lists, 1 day pure fluff armies (iron warriors, blood axe clan etc) and 1 day regular ones. 40k is the biggest thing and you have to get every fan - offer slightly better bonuses for silver vault membership to get people to upgrade - if you have a guest that stays like 2 weeks, dont release every video with that person in a row. It gets boring to see 6 batreps with the guy and almost the same list (looking at you carl with the colorful tau)

Have you guys considered revisiting doing more competitively focused content? Miniwargaming has awesome production values, beautiful armies and terrain, and great personalities. The one thing missing, in my opinion, is competitive content. I think the new diceless battle reports would be PERFECT to create bite-sized videos where the focus is on tactics and strategy with competitive missions and lists. If I could watch a 10-20 minute video to see how some of the different meta lists play and understand their tricks and abilities, or to just see it played in the hands of a great player, I would watch several in a row as part of tournament preparation. Perhaps inviting some of the big names in the competitive scene would help attract viewers as well.

Well, I have been a subscriber since the first Gorkamorka campaign and needless to say I love the work that you make at MWG, its thoroughly entertaining and I always look forwards to seeing new videos by you all. Now, I am no expert on KZfaq, Vimeo or business in general and I cannot in good faith give you some kind of learned and sage like wisdom to improve matters and I can only talk as a consumer and come up with a few suggestions to try and help: • Reduce the length of battle reports: As much as I enjoy your content I really don’t understand why you are uploading battle reports that in some cases are over two hours long when it feels like a lot of that content is just rolling dice and moving the models around. The meat of the content, the banter, the pivotal dice roll that saves a character, the ‘Ten Part Plan’ stuff that makes your content really fun to watch feels like it gets buried in the run time. Maybe try a few battle reports where the final video is most of the biggest moments or funniest bits? It might not seem like a big idea, but I had to stop one channel because the could spend an hour or more just going through the army list and whilst you aren't that bad a little more pace might spice things up. • Have a greater variety of content: I love AoS, I love 40k, but that’s all I am really getting from you guys these days. I might not have played them but I enjoyed WHF, Blood Bowl, This is Not a Test, Necromunda, D&D and some of the other games you done promos for whose names escape me but I don’t see that stuff any more. I understand the cost of doing them can be prohibitive, you need to pay the content producers, it can be hard to get guests to play those games, I understand that, but would it really be so hard to do one game a fortnight, or even a month of a non-GW/GW Specialist Game? Sure you can’t do that for D&D and some of the games I listed but for others it could be worth it as a pilot to see what people are into, see if audiences for these things have grown since you last tried them. Could do it as ‘Specialised Saturdays’, do them every other Saturday when there isn't a narrative campaign going on. • Upload old Vault Videos to KZfaq: I don’t understand the bandwidth stuff, I am a technical idiot, but I can’t image that its worth while to keep videos from five or more years ago in the vault where no one is watching them. Sure, it might be a little jarring to see the content creators that are no longer with MWG or younger versions of the current ones, but I can’t imagine they are bringing in that many Vault Memberships at this point. Sure, you might make a whole penny from ad revenue on putting it on KZfaq but it’s better than nothing. • You need to drop Vimeo: I know that goes without saying and that you are trying to find an alternative and it would take time to switch over to another service but for a lot of people Vimeo can be really temperamental and I imagine it puts a lot of people off keeping their memberships once they try them. • Sort out the editing issues: I know you have a new editor and they are trying to get used to doing it all but the number off graphical and audio issues in some of the past battle reports have been really annoying to sit through. I can shrug off rules mistakes and more often than not you guys catch them and mention it in the video either at the head of a video or during it so that’s cool by me. But when a 30 minuet video has close to two hours of blank screen at the end of a video, the wrong audio plays in some videos and there are random blank screens where turn graphics should come it doesn't make for a good advertisement for the Vault. Those are just a few off the top of my head. Again, I love what you guys do, you are one of my favourite channels on KZfaq and I want to see you continue to make content for years to come but I feel you need to make a few tweaks to get people subscribing/re-subscribing again. I tried to be as objective and fair as I could because I don’t want to step on any toes or anything so I am sorry if it feels a little samey or if anyone else has said this. Best of luck with it!

Two things: 1.) It seems the number one complaint is with you guys not knowing/ playing the rules correctly. (easy fix) 2.) Perhaps you offer too much content! Reduce the volume but crank up the quality.

I have been a vault member a couple of times, but I always end up canceling because I can't stream the vault videos to my devices as easily as the free ones. Is there any work around for this? Is there a vimeo app or something similar that is compatible with vault videos? I mostly watch on my TV.

I this it would be awesome to see some BFG (Battle Fleet Gothic) battles move into 40k battles.

I think a 24 hour livestream might generate some short term cash, whereas moving forwards perhaps a serious look at sponsored content and general ads running in videos I feel as a silver vault member I would see as a fair trade off. I think I will treat myself to some merch for Xmas and if you do a live stream then I will jump onboard and give....perhaps running a tournament would also be a viable option

So, I love everything you guys put out there. I was a member for the longest time, however funds got a bit limited. I will be re-subscribing when I can. The videos that I would like to see are more tournament level games with highly competitive lists and ITC or similar rules. Seeing some of the lists that are not entirely optimized makes it a little less enjoyable for people like myself who enjoy watching armies at their peek. Otherwise, I enjoy all the different personalities that you guys offer. Keep it up! You guys are gonna make it!

Well im so so unhappy by this video, i love the channel and all the people who work at MWG. I have been watching MWG for about 9 years,a silver Vault member for nearly 4 years and a twitch sub for 6 months and i have never looked back. Best money i spend each month. I really really hope people do sign up so you guys can keep up the amazing videos. I know this may not be a popular idea. But i wouldnt be put out if you decide to increase your prices for the vault. I would be happy to pay 25% more each month. I would now if i could. P.s really appreciate that you have always been so transparent when MWG have had big changes (closing of the store, people leaving, the move to the bunker etc) Edit : i know someone else has suggested it. Have you considered amazon web services as a hosting site. I do have a friend who works for them and could ask him if he knows what sort of prices they charge and deals they do

I was, on and off, a vault member for the past 10 or so years. Usually, my membership depends on the content interesting to me. Lately, i cancelled my membership, again. There's plenty of reason, but here's a few : - Smaller games. I realized i don't care much for games under 2000 pts, and when one pop up at 1500 pts, i'm just not that interested. - Army involved. I'd say that's a twofer. first there's the fact that after awhile, some army are boring to watch. Second, some army composition are just so... predictable, that its almost boring. When watching the first 5 minutes tells you how the game will end, its hard to get motivated to watch it, and even worst to pay for it. - Content creator. I don't want to aim at anybody, but some people in MWG are better than other at making interesting content (which is just normal), and It feels like you lost some good creator in the past years. - New website. Ok, that was the last straw that made me cancel my membership. I HATE the new website ; it doesnt make things easier to view, its actually the opposite. Now, what can be done to improve interest in vault service? It's hard to say. To me it would be somethings and for others, it most likely would be other things. So i'll just list what would make "me" more interested ; 1- more content. A 1k and a 2k games each day? i don't know. i know more content means more people which means more expense... 2- more "various" content. I know some people play only one or two army, and probably you do not own all the armies, but still. Haven't seen that many Ossiarch Bonereaper, or City of Sigmars battle report. 3- New stuff about... new stuff. Sure, the reading of new books is interesting, but what about new models? unboxing, painting, etc? I'm probably not the only one who loves to watch someone build and paint something before i do. 4- more contributor (?). I think you used to have something like thins a long time ago, where people could post their video on your site or something similar. External contributor could help, i think, add more variety in content creator, armies, and hell, even terrains! 5- A community. Now in the age of facebook, community isnt what it used to be, but its something taht is always interesting to have, when you pay for a service ; feeling part of something. With the forum death, i doubt you'd revive it, but there's got to be something to make it more community-like. I truely hope you guys stick around, because you are pretty much the go-to channel for AoS videos.

Business 101, if the old model aint working, don't try beat a dead horse. Adapt, change you practices, listen to your customers (all those suggestingons from interested parties below).

I am already a vault member, I am sorry to hear about your difficulties guys. I hope you can find a way to achieve a way to balance the books
