Choctaw Stadium (old Rangers Stadium) does get a lot of use. It has the Texas live which hosts concerts and other events. And the XFL Renegades do fill the lower bowl of the Stadium. Also the Stadium hosts a lot of high school football games and once in a while A&M Commers host a couple of their football games there.

What Georgia State has done to Turner Field is a travesty. They have done no work on anything in the stadium, the seats are rusting away, paint is peeling, and more and more seats are being tarped off.

And last, I notice the stadiums that go quick are always ones built across the street except in Arlington. We had that here in Detroit where Tiger Stadium sat vacant almost a decade before demolition and the Silverdome 16 years after the Lions left because both teams moved in different locations and there wasn’t much planned with the location, what I do know is not maintaining a stadium after a year, my as well just tear it down, some of these stadiums sit and they become such an eyesore before finally being demolished.

The Astrodome is still standing, though it has apparently had its inside gutted. As someone who grew up in Houston attending Oilers games, Astros games, rodeos, concerts, and even a Wrestlemania in the building, I would love to see the building re-purposed, but I don't know what that re-purpose would be. I think my favorite suggestion is to strip it to its frame and leave a green-space under the frame, perhaps with monuments to Astros, Oilers, and maybe even rodeo greats.

At least the US does get use out of their Olympic stadiums. Most countries let theirs rot into the ground. Or at least the one's that should never host the Olympics in the first place. So maybe that would be a good reason to just get rid of the games anyway.

Great video! Everyone o talk to that's been there doesn't say good things about Chase Field. I had the privilege of going there while on vacation from Detroit and I really liked the stadium. I've driven by Tropicana when they first opened in the early 90s and even then it looked like a dump. My son and his friends went on a long weekend vacation to Nashville over the SUMMER and he is a stadium geek like myself, so he went to check it out while sightseeing and said it was the worse looking stadium he ever saw and he had been or by quite a few. Keep up the great work

Chase field... I expect that the D-Backs are not going anywhere soon.. oh, they may make noise.. but I can tell you scottsdale don't want stadiums/arenas anywhere near them. The Yotes are having enough trouble getting an arena built and until that happens.. you can forget the D-Backs getting anything done. About the only place to build is Glendale and they pushed the Yotes out...

As its already been mentioned in a few other comments Choctaw Stadium won't be going anywhere. A lot of the offices in the outfield are used as HQ for a few businesses in the area. Not to mention there have been more and more high school games played there recently; both regular season and playoffs (cheaper to play in than Jerry World). Choctaw Stadium is a money maker even without a major pro sports team anchoring it.

I'm a diehard braves fan and while I think Truist is a worldclass ballpark, I like the location better, its closer to where I live and safer too, but If i were in charge i would have kept Turner Field in a heartbeat and renovated it. Did it have too much capacity? Without a doubt. But it had a lot of baseball life left in it. I have such fond memories from there. They used to have $1 tickets in the right field nosebleeds which helped my dad and i go to several games during Chipper's last 5-6 years. I do have a feeling that if the braves still played there, it would have gotten the Coors Field/Progressive Field treatment though... I'm also a casual Rangers Fan. I drove by but never saw at game at the Ballpark in Arlington. It is objectively a more beautiful park than the new GLF... and i wish i could have seen a game

As a Tigers fan it breaks my heart seeing what happened to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, they copied that right field look after the older stadiums which we had at old Tiger Stadium a place still missed 25 years later after being replaced with the bland Comerica Park. If we could only trade for this stadium move it to Detroit be perfect! Lol I know that’s not possible just a terrible waste and unfortunate that the Tigers didn’t build a park like this, the Rangers parked opened in 1995, 5 years before Comerica Park opened. IMO Comerica Park is just a slightly better looking version of Guaranteed Rate Field, both teams downgraded with move. Now don’t misconstrue that Tiger Stadium and old Comiskey Park needed be renovated or replicated, standing still wasn’t an option. The Red Sox we’re going build a new Fenway in the 90s until they decided to keep Fenway.
@Knightmessenger6 ай бұрын
Comerica really needs something distinctive. A right field upper deck would be a nice addition and way to partially make the place appeal more to traditional baseball fans.

The Titans Stadium has never been impressive, especially when you consider that the team left Houston, those great Oilers colors for this stadium. Bud Adams, R.I.P. didn’t do this franchise a lot of favors, before 1993 season basically had an ultimatum team won the Super Bowl or the team would be broken up then threatened leave Houston without a stadium. So Oilers spent the next half decade in a state of flux all for this bare bones Stadium, 2 seasons as lame ducks in Houston’s Astrodome where attendance was so bad the team left after 1996 season, 1997 played at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, the other side of the state in a city that wasn’t going embrace team just using them before moving to Nashville, so 1998 the team played in Vanderbilt Stadium which seated 43,000 because attendance was dreadful in Memphis. The Oilers had talent too, went 7-9, 8-8, 8-8, then went 11-5 and made the franchises only Super Bowl appearance in 1999 their first season as the Titans.

@@franciscodiaz4217 The Rooted in Oakland motto for the A's in a sense was kind of a shot at the Raiders and the Warriors who left Oakland, but moreso the Raiders as the Warriors were planning to move to SF when Lacob took over and announced in 2012 that the Warriors were going to move to SF. It was also kind of a promise from the A's at the time that they were going to stay in Oakland because they were planning to build a new stadium at Howard Terminal in Oakland before things broke down there. I think the A's have since took down that "Rooted in Oakland" signage at the Oakland Coliseum ever since their news of looking to move to Vegas. To your point, yeah, technically the A's franchise did start in Philly, but the A's have moved around since, and Vegas will be their 4th home in their history.
