THANK YOU! Fixed my issue with your guidance. Used a tiny safety pin to unbend the Reader pins without taking apart the Switch. Used the dock as a stand. Used my phone flashlight to get a clear view

Thank you. Just fixed my sons. Found 2 flat pins. Fixed with a pick set. Didn’t have to take apart. You are the man. Saved us a $130 repair bill

Thank you man, I am a legend in this house and I got a new switch! My brother had gotten a switch 3 years ago and it had this problem and we went to GameStop, a few tech shops and they couldn’t fix it. I thought about it and wanted to see if it’d work. I came home from school, searched it up, clicked on this video and, put in earphones and now I have a switch! My sister is getting my switch lite so we are all happy out. My brother got the Oled after they said it would be €350 to get it repaired!

@Everydayyouarentrunningrattatuilleonlygetscloser same here, my son's oled was his Xmas gift. Today it's not working and it's because one of the game cards had a broken plastic tab and messed up the card reader now.. good thing we kept the light.

Dude! Yours was the first video I checked because my Pokémon Sword/Shield edition Switch Lite stopped reading the game cart! I watched your video and... it turns out... the bottom left pin had been bent down. I got it fixed without taking it apart, also using my cell phone to get a good look! Thanks man! Also, super glad I got it fixed because it has a 1TB SD card, about 60% used with games and saved data, that I was trying to get moved onto a 400GB card.

Thank you!! This totally worked I looked inside the game port and one of the wires were bent down!! So I used a sewing needle without taking the console apart and bent the wire back up. I’m good I know 😎 😂 appreciate your video!!!

TYSM for this vid! I've been playing Switch with headphones a lot recently and the first solution of putting a headphone jack in as I put the game in worked for me. I never would have thought of that on my own. Hopefully it stays working.

I was crying thinking my switch needed to be sent in for repairs, but I need it for my work so I can't go without it and I couldn't efford to get it fixed. I had tried everything but then I saw your video and I looked and two of the pins were bent! I got a needle and bent it to make a hook and then with a torch in my mouth I spent like 10 mins carefully trying to get the pins unbent. Worked instantly after this. Thank you so much!!

thank you so much for this genuinely. this was straightforward and very useful. it made me not go into panic. i used a long small screw driver and it worked perfectly just pushing the pin back into place

Thanks for this, my Switch hasn't worked with all my game cards for years. For some reason Mario Kart 8 and 2x copies of Super Mario 3D All-Stars didnt work. Putting headphones in the jack and all of them now work. Bloody weird! I was close to going out and buying an OLED Switch but didn't want to waste £300 on another switch.

The triangle screwdriver is rare. Which makes it easier for people to just have gamestop or Nintendo do it for them

Yo, so my cousins came in with their switch and a pin is missing. I've fixed my 3ds with the same problem (Bent pin) but there was no missing pin. So i wonder if there's a remplacement for it. Edit: after further examination there are TREE missing pins. please help

I think I have a bent pin but I don't have any pliers small enough to get in there and find out for certain. Purchasing an $8 screwdriver set and I'll find out soon enough.

My son said yesterday his switch stopped working, he looked scared to tell me. He said “IT WORKS”” but.. The games won't.... Play...” I instantly was like, “ur good, it's bent pins. Bring it over tomorrow” he was just like steamrolled, kissed his mom sent him on his way, turn around and in my head said, “he wouldn't have made it long with a game boy or snes.” Couldn’t fart on a wood floor without the game cart glitching. Thats when I realized I’m old.

My switch has no bent pins but still will now work if I insert Minecraft. I’ve tried all things on the official Nintendo help website but nothing worked. Any advice?

If nothing is damaged and you bought your switch under 2 years ago, your switch is still under warranty. And if there is no damage to the game card reader, it's still under warranty, and you can send it in to Nintendo. However, if there is something damaged and if it didn't happen randomly, then you have to have to pay for the repair. Also, you need a receipt to prove that you have bought the switch before the warranty expiry date. (Warranty automatically starts as soon as you buy your switch from a retailer, I don't know about 2nd hand)
