Mr W , I usually don't nitpick , but I don't think I would have mounted a gas can inches from my cooking area . Not only a bit of a fire hazard but if it does leak a bit it could contaminate your food unintentionally . God Bless You and Your Family 🙏 🇺🇸🙏 .

Guys, the vast majority of the "safety" restraints on products are a direct result of lawsuits from idiots who misuse the product and win a big pile of cash in court for being stupid. Any company that loses or settles a big lawsuit and doesn't follow up with additional "safety" design measures opens themselves up to paying out even more to the next moron who hurts himself. Then there's the special government agencies like the EPA and DoT on top of that. It's a minor miracle we have hand-held gas cans at all, so enjoy them while you can.

For long term storage of fuel you really should buy a good quality metal can because the movement of the fuel (insulator) against the can (plastic is an insulator) can actually create static even a spark igniting the whole can. This is a low risk but worth looking into because it causes a few fires a year where I live here in Australia

Just a note on the first can - what you are calling the bottom is actually the side. They are meant to be twisted connected at the sides and when you hang them, there are two mounts holding the cans on instead of one. They designed it that way thinking one mount might allow for the can to twist. They should have small flats on the bottom and the spout is still in the corner. They are excellent if you have the room to mount two of them connected. The problem is having that amount of room. Also when you orient it so that it’s sitting properly, it gives less chance of falling over because the center of gravity is lower and there is a good handle to hold on to in the center and you can use the twist portion to hold onto. Give it a try in the orientation I’m trying my best to explain and you may like it a little better. I’ve used one on each side of my bike and the thin profile is amazing and it’s only around 40 pounds extra for an extra 4 gallons of gas. ~God Bless

As always, nice review! I've been considering various fuel & water storage options, and honestly, I think the RotopaX seems like a better option than even the Wavian NATO-style steel cans. The RotopaX system has more mounting options, the cans themselves are lighter, and when full are lighter still over the steel 5 (liter/gallon?) cans- and can be a significant bonus depending on the mounting, the strength of the person hefting them, or even a strong individual if said individual is injured or exhausted. Plus, as you showed in one of your videos, the steel cans CAN flake off the inner lining (which can be a real issue), and/or they can rust. Polymer won't do either. Something to consider. Personally, I'm going with RotopaX.

Nice product Cody. Protip, you can spray paint the perimeter of the gas can black to conceal it further.

Rotopax cans are nice. I was looking into them when I had my ATV. That's a slick spot you have to mount them. The stove inside made me pause for a second, but I'm sure you know what you're doing.

I'm probably in violation of Federal Law but...... One of the handy things I've discovered about that particular kind of "UN-SAFE-T" spout is that if you cut off that plastic "Lock - Unlock" band, you'll be left with a spout that simply allows flow when pushed, and stops flow when released. I've found THIS functionality to be VERY handy filling weed-whackers, lawnmowers, and such.

I created a half- cylinder funnel out of a plastic water/soda bottle to help “pour” fuel from the container into my vehicle. The plastic was pushed thru the safety flap in the vehicle.

Cody, honestly if you simply spray painted the exposed ‘visual’ side of that can, a person would never see that can even if you looked on the backside of that tool box. It would just blend in. Cool product and idea. Very pricey, but then again most ‘quality’ products are rarely cheap. Great video and I’m a subscriber.

I bought 3 gallon conventional squatty gas can with what purports to be a modern pouring spout... what you do is Slide a bushing down the spout towards the can and that theoretically opens up the spout to pour... I wound up tearing that part off... I went to the hardware store and got the appropriate size crutch tip and that's all I need... The spout it turns out had an Air Relief straw in it so it pours very effectively without any moving parts ... other than taking off the crutch tip

For a pack can, I agree I very much like the Roto: For fill and carry however I absolutely love the all steel, "Justrite" type II with the integral, steel pour hose...just like what a can used to be....! Check out the brand if you haven't already and thank you again for your channel. 🙂
