So, five-star food in a rustic village. The cut song and scenery-indescribable. You two keep outdoing yourselves every episode.

This video was utter magic! I loved hearing all of the sounds… Ripping crusty bread, restaurant chatter, clinking dinnerware, and the sounds of nature! Watching you two enjoy yourselves brought me so much peace and joy! Also I’m so glad you got the gnocchi Jessi and I’d give my left arm for the fried cheese and polenta dish😍🫶🏻😘

I lived in Maniago for 4 yrs. Barcis is gorgeous. The water is amazing. Il Rifugio was hands down the best restaurant in the area. The setting for the restaurant is so beautiful. The chef and staff were always incredibly friendly. Man I miss this area.

It's a must see with your own eyes type of place. If you are in the area head west down the mountain highway towards Aviano and stop at the gold dome church. You can't miss it, you will see it on the mountain side while on the highway. Stop on Aviano and go to Befed's for the best rotisserie chicken you will ever have. I still crave it till this day. There will be a good amount of American Air Force people there eating also. Both of those places are so close to Barcis you should make the stop if you go.

I have a friend that lives in Marsciano in Umbria Region, his name is Alessandro. When ever he travels he sends me videos and pictures, I love it. I would love to travel to Italy and especially would love to go to Cinque Terre, Elba island, the Gulf of Naples where the wonderful lemons are grown for Limoncello, so many places. It would be great to meet my friend in person, we have only written to one another. Thank you for your beautiful videos.

Oh I am so glad you guys went to Barcis. I know I have mentioned in a previous video you guys should go. In the summer if we didn't want to drive to lignano to go to the beach we would hit up Barcis to jump off the bridge over the water. That water is so cold but felt so good. For some reason the green didn't show up on film as much as I remember that lake being. We would drive through Barcis to get to Cortina in the winter to go snowboarding. Gracie for the trip down memory lane.

Maybe you are not familiar with other Italian cultures so that’s why to you it has a Swiss/Germanic vibe. But to an Italian from the Western Alps like me this is just very Northern Italian and I don’t get the Germanic/Swiss vibes.

Been to Barcis many times as my wife Antonietta is from Pordenone. Too bad the blue alpine color didn't show up (looks a bit like Tidy Bowl). There is an amazing gelataria on the lake that makes the famous coppe, different flavors of gelato and fruit with syrups and whipped cream. In any case, it looks like you already had a 3000 calorie meal.

You know, the lady at the cabin made a good point. She said her Italian ancestors went to America early 1900 to work in gold mines. The pictures they sent back were "posed"; sitting on a horse, wearing an alleged "American Indian headress." What if our entire history is contrived? Those style pictures are throughout our history books... everything "posed" as if on a movie set. Think about it.

Yes of course, the nature in Italy is beautiful, the life, the food is wonderful, but when you have to face the italian burocracy, the job market, the taxes , Italy is a disaster. Italy is a great country to live when you have enough money to live in peace, not to grow and to improve yourself. I tell this as italian
