Ironic. The Camarilla doesn't believe in antediluvians and yet they are the ones that fear thin bloods.
@HellGod674 жыл бұрын
It's a facade, they fear and believe in antediluvians but admitting there are forces above them will undermine their power or will expose their sires that don't want to be known about and have control over the vast majority of kindred and kine from the shadows.

It is also because of the masquerade, if a bunch of young sireless vamp that look like humans go about exposing their society, even having babies with humans, then the Human Inquisition comes knocking.

Actually killing Caitiff hastens on Gehenna since killing all those Clanless and Thinbloods ripples through the bonds between the vampires right into the Antedeluvians themselves and therefore awakens them.

Yes and no. The thing is due to this abandonement, apparently somehow the blood runs a bid wild and so new powers can more easily manifest. And for the Camarilla they represent the coming of the end times and to somehow cover that up they rather drive them off or kill them.
@HellGod674 жыл бұрын
@@inotaishu1 Imagine creating a separate clan that has kindred with all imaginable major clan disciplines, it will officially expose the secrets that Giovanni, Tremere, Setites, Tszimishi and so on were guarding all this time, do you think these clans will allow it? Most certainly not! And I imagine that cell of kindred society will be wiped out even quicker than if they were just lost strays under Camarillas watchful gaze. But undoubtedly it would be the most powerful clan after establishing a financial foothold and their own social hierarchy. A Hogwarts for vampires idea comes to my mind )
@inotaishu14 жыл бұрын
@@HellGod67 Having access to clan disciplines (which btw. Caitiff may have but may as well not) will not expose secrets of those clans you listed. Especially not since necromancy and thaumaturgy are not disciplines in the standard sense and almost anyone can learn fleshcrafting. So I am going to pretend not to have read this nonsense of yours.

I once played a Caitiff that became a Deputy to a very corrupt Sheriff that wanted to kill the Prince and claim Praxis. My character, with the aid of an important harpy, helped set the Prince up, but also set the Sheriff up so that both would die (Sheriff killed Prince, then the whole court killed the Sheriff) and the Harpy became Prince and I his Scourge. and a lesser Harpy. For starters. My Setite mentor was very impressed.. oops, I guess I shouldn't have mentioned that last part.

Ha, well you imagine all Caitiff to be of a lower generation? ;) It can surely bite you back. Also, for generations 12 and above the childe swap diablerie is a thing for theese purposes, no need to search and target a supposed Caitiff and surely, it's much safer of a venue.

My most successful protagonist in VtM was a Caitiff in the Anarch Free State of L.A.. Our weekly stories consisted of other vampires abusing my poor kindred. His position, however, gave him political freedom to achieve things that those with clans could not. After many a nights, the Caitiff viewed clans as a disadvantage rather than an advantage. His disciplines became an extension of his personality manifested. It was a truly fascinating way to play VtM.

What clan was Caine again? Or his childer? The Antediluvians weren't even part of a clan in the beginning. They also all had a much easier time developing Disciplines, too. You neglected to mention that Caitiff can often create their own Disciplines with ease. I never really bought into the concept of a Caitiff-created Discipline only being available to a Caitiff, though (which I'm pretty sure is stated in the Pariahs book, which the Caitiff are discussed). I figure if they wanted to teach a non-Caitiff one of their Disciplines it wouldn't be any more difficult to learn than any other Discipline. Finding someone willing to teach it would be another matter. Probably no different than a Tremere willing to teach Thaumaturgy to someone outside their clan. Why share your secrets with someone who'd just as soon kill you?
@angelusumbra57416 жыл бұрын

That is the subject of the "Time of thin blood" book. It takes a very interesting take on the 14th and 15th generation vampires. From their mentioned abilities to survive in daylight and to procreate the mortal way, their occasional weak metabolism to seer abilities some of them acquire as they lay dead for a day before the blood changes them. It also contains info on the week of nightmares when Ravnos antediluvian woke up and stirred some serious shit up. I highly recommend it.

Nice video! You can make interesting campaigns with caitiff, since they feel much stronger than other vampires that it's them against the world, they have many "under the radar" freedoms that vampires belonging to clans don't have and got larger incentives to stick together and, for some, diablerize older vampires. After all, what do they have to lose? Btw. could you be so kind and tell me what version of Lux Aeterna did you use in the intro? Thanks!

I've found that running Caitiff usually ends up with the powergamers of the group picking up the clan -- it's nigh perfect for their goals. As long as the other members of the party handle the political stuff, Caitiff end up being absolutely godly out-of-the-gate combat machines.

Do they ever explain what happens to a Caitiff who diablerizes a lower gen Vampire? Say a Caitiff diablerizes a 5th generation kindred in Torpor somehow (staking him or performing the ritual of the bitter rose with a group for example) obviously he would increase in generation by at least a couple notches, but I don't remember seeing anything about whether this "removes" his thin-bloodedness, would it be possible to have a real powerful 9th or 10th level ancilla caitiff? Or would the diablerist start taking on the traits of the clan of the kindred consumed? What if he diablerized various kindred of lower gen of different clans? Would he become a new bloodline with his chosen disciplines instead? *shrug* always kind of confused me how that worked. Seems if playing with a group who has a Caitiff and diablerizes it could bring up some interesting storyline hooks

@VirisSang9 жыл бұрын
ZarathustrasCrown Not all Caitiff are Thinbloods, and not all Thinbloods are Caitiff. The two are different conditions that may or may not overlap. But to answer your question, a Caitiff who commits diablerie isn't going to suddenly take on the clan of his victim. He'll remain a Caitiff even if he drinks his way down to Methuselah status. Additionally, what makes you think there aren't Caitiff Elders skulking about out there? Sure, it's been only in the past 100 years that the Caitiff population has exploded... but there were Clanless back in the Dark Ages, probably even farther back.

I don't understand how a Cainite can be clanless, if clans really are inherited like 'genetics' rather than taught? I imagined that Caitiff were simply unaware of any clan-specific traits they were developing, so that perhaps the development of those traits would happen more ambiguously without, like, a role model, but that the disciplines that were passed down to the Neonate would still evolve to match their sire's clan? Otherwise I don't understand how disciplines are acquired. It wouldn't make sense if a Neonate would be embraced by a Toreador and then somehow develop, let's say, Dementation out of nowhere? Has this question been settled? Because if so, I'm not aware, and I'd like to know whether clans are a 'nature vs. nurture' sort of debate.
