This video aims to describe the physical geography of the beautiful Himalayan state Uttarakhand in India.
Uttarakhand has some of the highest peaks in India, like Nanda Devi and Kamet, as well as rolling grasslands, deep valleys and gorges, fertile plains and even a cold desert.
This video describes the state in two major ways, using its mountain ranges, and using its rivers and their basins.
It gets complex, but, as always, enjoy!

Desert settlers have more love for the himalayas than native pahadis. You ethnic rajasthanis have adopted to the hills very well. Although your bodies are made for the desert, you do surprisingly good in the himalayas. From the deserts of rajasthan to the mountains of uttarakhand such a beautiful journey.

Whenever I find time, I open Google Earth and just scan through the Himalayan Mountain ranges because it's so intriguing to learn about the different valleys, rivers and peaks. So this video is such delight to me, I had my google earth open while watching the video, was closely following up through all the valleys and learnt so much with it! Wow!! Your video is so well researched and well edited like a pro, for a moment I felt like I just have visited all these places myself. Uttarakhand is so beautiful yet threatened by nature's havoc. We need to protect it's habitat and flora fauna from rapidly increasing civilization and deforestation. Please do make more such videos related to western ghats , north-eastern mountain ranges and Nilgiris..... Geography has been my favorite subject during 10th but after watching this well documented video I have fallen in love with it!!

In addition to your depth of knowledge, I am amazed by unparalleled beauty of Uttarakhand. Sadly world does not know about UK in a systematic manner digitally. It was gov duty to document all these. If properly managed, UK has the potential of enormous tourism revenue.
