I was like - how the fuck are you going to get all those songs out live - it was about 10 pm. Then they played and I didn't realize most of their songs were 20 seconds to a minute long. lol. I remember during the MySpace era, Seth started taking meds. And in an interview when asked about the meds he was like "I actually feel normal. For the first time in my life, I feel good" That broke my heart. He started a blog around this time posting his old pictures (from like prom n shit) and wrote his thoughts and feelings on them. You'd never guess it was him, it was some super normal person stuff (the Seth we all know would call himself a f**got in those prom pics) Then he died.

@@mistersudz102 Ok. So, here goes. They played June 22nd 2001 at the Big Fish Pub in Tempe, AZ. I went there with my ex wife. She sat on one side of me at the bar before the show started and about 30 mins later, Seth himself sat 2 chairs down from me at the bar. I think I asked him how the tour was going and he said something to the effect of "getting effed up every night, just the way it should be". I just left it at that. He started ordering shots by himself at the bar. There were 3 bands on the bill and I don't remember the other 2. One was horrific noise with trumpets and horns and feedback. It was terrible... so they fit right in. Seth proceeded to get pretty wasted at the bar. I walked over and got one of the "Defenders of the Hate" limited tour edition 7" at their merch table, which I sold just a few years ago. Probably shouldn't have sold that thing. As Seth is getting messed up at the bar he keeps saying stuff to the female bartender but I can't hear what it is. Finally, after awhile of this, I hear her motion to the huge barback/security guy "Get this guy the eff out of here! Do you hear what he's saying to me!..." Apparently he was saying some outlandish things he would like to do to her. The barback kicks Seth out the front door of his own show and they don't know who he is. They think he's just a random drunk. Seth walks around back and hangs out with the bands getting ready to load gear in and he starts loading gear in with them. They don't notice that he basically snuck back into the venue but through the back door. That's all I remember until AxCx takes the stage. Seth was SUPER effed up by the time they started. He fell into the crowd once and people helped him up and back on stage and 2 times after that he fell into John Gillis drum kit. By the way. The dude they had on that tour on drums.... was phenomenal. Definitely the most talent AxCx has ever had in the band. His blast beats were super fast and surgical. I remember his performance more than I remember Seth's lol. Look up a video from this tour in 2001 and you'll see what I mean. There's a video from the Cali show right before they came here to AZ. You will see a post from me in the comments there from like 4 years ago also. So. That's my AC story. Nothing too crazy but it was funny seeing Seth get kicked out of his own show and sneaking back in.

At one of the Wetlands shows Seth asked me to take a walk with him to find food, it was a pretty desolate neighborhood after dark and he was picky about food. He ended up passing out in a doorway and I couldn’t move him, so I took his jacket (which always served as his wallet) and headed back to the club to get someone to help me move him. Folks were pissed I left him there, but really?! Haha. Those shows were always great. One weekend we were there for one of their shows (or to see Carnivore) and a day later Six and Violence played a matinee, he was jacked, he loved them. No matter how messed up Seth got, every show I was at, he’d get off the stage, find me and ask “how were we tonight?” Like I was the only one he trusted to tell him the truth. Miss him like crazy.

A story that needs to be told. Shortly before him and Don Decker passed (Anal blast). We saw them play at the sets( no longer exists). Lead from a.c. borrowed equipment from a local band in AZ. Dude was being reckless and almost knocking over that equipment constantly. Before show the started. He taped the hell out of mic connection because of constant helicopter. During all this one of the local guys. From that band was very loudly voicing his thoughts about how speakers and equipment was being treated. My band had the pleasure of playing with AxCx and I met the man. The guitarist was super nice, don't know how he put up with Seth. I thought the guy was all jokes from listening to AC for forever. No...well...yes and no. He really did love the Village People and didn't really hate gay people...but he was not fond of jewish people. This was around 2005 and he had the cane. For the three shows we played with them...the dude was perpetually fall down drunk. Like, I'm an alcoholic(sober now, who fuckin cares) but I was functional...he was a barely functional drunk. And he was always angry. Always. I got into an argument with him about drugs vs alcohol. He had quit heroin saying that booze was the way to live. I was like...lolz. You're gonna die! He was not amused. In fact, for all my silly offensive humor...I could not make him laugh nor did I see him smile ever. He liked to talk to people...more like...argue with them. He would sign peoples shit and they would be like 'we love you' and he would just respond 'you're gay, get fucked.' He watched like 2 songs of my band the first show. I asked him what he thought. He said I had a weak scream and my band sucked. There were like 15 grindish bands on the first show...Circle of Dead Children were co-headliners...and AC played at 2am. I wondered how he would do so fall down drunk. I also thought...with them having like 300 songs under their belt I wouldn't recognize any of them. Wrong. Even with a cane, he became a beast on stage. They played all my favorite songs. The crowd went insane. And there were some emo kids who all of a sudden realized they were in the wrong place. A giant dude picked up this 15 year old stick boy and hurled him like a missle. He hit me in the knee and dislocated it. Me not being a pussy punched it back into place and kept on enjoying the show...the pain fueling the awesome. One of the best shows I have ever seen. He was a magic man of hate. He said offensive things not to be funny...but because he was legit angry and tried to hit people where it hurt. Not a good person. I'm sure outside of a scene setting he could be a regular human with those he cared about. But...he was definitely a legendary person and I am glad I got a chance to meet him as well as play at the same show even if he thought I sucked. It's kind of a badge of honor.

This was exactly the kind of edgy shit I was into as an early high school kid. Any band with an offensive name and/or lyrics was fair game. I used to think that the more fucked up and strung out a frontman was, the cooler the band...while I don't judge artists who use, I no longer think that automatically makes them legends. Still, I gotta give it to AC's song titles...As someone who was used to various edgy metal and hardcore song titles, and really into the idea of freedom of speech (especially within art), AC's titles were some of the only ones to actually make me go "NO FUCKING WAY! LOL!". AC isn't exactly my shit these days, but, I still appreciate the way they made me analyze art and artists who were "not exactly mainstream" and even openly anti-social.

I remember the edgelords name dropping AC in AOL chat rooms in the 90's. They thought they were so kew knowing a shitty band nobody else knew about/listened to.

No I was the little boy trying to make older and more mature friends because I matured so much faster than the other kids at skew. That's how I eventually joined NAMBLA.

I met Seth at the Philly show, the first one he had standing up after his coma. I have never felt the need to meet anyone famous following this, the man was too good for this earth, which is fucking gay

Met him in 95-96 when my band relocated to boston. I think AC was in BRS too where we reheatsed. I met him a few times and had totally normal, musician type conversations with him. Guess i got him on a 'bad' day lol

Went to two concerts when Seth could no longer move properly. Both of them ended with him collapsing. RIP, Seth. 😢

I saw them in 2008. Him and the woman who was with him asked me to find him "big boy drugs". This was after the coma.

I’m somehow related to this guy Seth by marriage, not that I ever met him or knew him i any way I just heard from one of my cousins that he was her cousin. She would send me music by AC from Napster when we were kids. My cousin Ashley is dead now I miss her.
