I’m just glad Marion dodged a bullet and didn’t get married to a stranger. So glad this got a second season!! I’m excited to see what Mrs. Russell will do next and if Peggy will get to see her child

The story is like downton abbey, although very subtle, amazingly you connect. Acting characters, script everything balanced. Especially the black society depiction feels so true and i want to see more of their stories.

I've been critical of this show but I believe in giving credit where credit's due and the last episode kicked ass. I felt like everyone suddenly felt comfortable with their character, with the funny clothes they have to wear and just let it rip. Hopefully, this will carry over into the second season.

At least they didn't make Tom a supervillian.... some people speculated that he stole Marion's fortune too.

Thomas Cocquerel, Mr Raikes actor, has an unfortunate name. Cocquerel means cockroach in French.

I didn't realize Louisa Jacobson who played Marian is Meryl Streep's youngest daughter. I did notice her in Oscar 2009 where she was just 18 years old and beautiful. But Meryl's two older daughters are not particularly good at acting. They are just... so so and not pretty as their mother so I don't care much about the last. But Louisa turned out to be really good! She played Marian so well. I just found out that she took time to finish her education (Yale's Master of Fine Arts) which is exactly the same as Meryl's. "The Gilded Age" is a good start for her and I expecting to hear more about her.

A bit disappointed with the ending of Marion's storyline with Mr. Raikes so far. The stakes would have been much higher next season, had they gotten married against her family's wishes. There would be intrigue as to how they would navigate life in NY and society given their decision. Someone here wrote about a theory that secretly Marion is rich and Raikes hopes to get his hands on her fortune by marrying her. That would be intriguing to as I also got a sense that he is the kind who would marry for money but also keep affairs on the side. Or at least if they didn't get married, it would have been much more interesting to see how Marion dogged a bullet not because someone told her something about him but rather she would come to the truth on her own by some incident. I don't know it just felt like it was all worked out in a way that she got fairly easy off when I think in reality there would still be some consequences. The ball was beautiful and a great ending to the first season, tying up the plot lines. I really enjoyed although you could see that the dance part was not a strength for some of the actors. Like when Marion starts to dance with Larry,, if you pay attention, when they enter the center, they bump with Oscar and Gladys.. Anyway, looking very much forward to season 2 but I would ask that we do not have so many subplots if they do not turn into anything affecting the whole plot. I don't mind the supporting cast storylines but they need to evolve more than for example like with Mr. Russell's valet, who has some connection to a wealthy lady he just keeps starring at or Mrs. Armstrong, who has a terrible and very difficult family life with her mother....which was meant to show us that she is harsh because of her own troubles but her attitude towards Peggy and others is in no way understandable.

AAAH, I was rooting for Mr.Raikes! Really wish he could give his love to Marion and prove to all people that he's not a gold digger.

The actress is only 41 ,but Bertha character looks a much older lady of 50's because of costumes and attitude!

Ending was just, not extraordinary. Marian's elopement blew over pretty quickly 😑. Then there are speculations about the Brooke shares in Mr. Russells hands, thus making her way rich (i wish that happened 😁)! Speaking of Romance, Marian reminds me of Marianne in S&S where Tom is Willowby 😢

Why are they not airing the final episode 9 now that the season is over. No podcasting wanted. Big issues with HBO/Max streaming on many platform. Google continuously redirects payment over and over. You Tube single episode payment...epic fail. Why must you go through another pay vendor...Google Pay and then fight with removing the debit card . Netflix was the best platform for 2022 Gilded Age, now there's older works . Very disappointed in the need to sign up and find the last episode as aired.

while the show was great the ending was disappointing - the way I see it now, do we really need a season 2? I don't feel the connection between the two season. There are a few things unsolved from season 1 that can migrate to season 2 but nothing big, challenging.
