Even though both the old money (elitist snobs) and new money (ruthless and grasping) are equally horrible, you can't help but admire Bertha's ambition. But in the real world, I'd be on the workers' side.

I loved the first season, and I can't wait to watch the second season! That said, I wish that whomever was editing the visuals for the show would stop doing that in a pitch black room, because lord knows its hard to see some of those scenes clearly, and I feel like thats just a screwup, not an intentional editing choice. I feel like you can REALLY see it in this clip as we go back and forth between clips from the show and clips from the behind the scenes chats.

I thought Season 1 couldn't be topped. I was wrong! Season 2 takes place in 1883. At the same time as a group of people is trying to get from Ft. Worth to Oregon in a certain other TV series. What a contrast. They're only separated by half a continent. But it might as well be a different universe.

What a weird take... I don't even ship them but how are the two things mutually exclusive? Most men of the upper classes had paramours before (and even after) marrying. Marian was planning to elope with someone else herself and Larry knows it. I doubt they would hold these events against each other if they ever fall in love.

I think that this story at its heart is really about the Astors and Vanderbilts, and the society feud was primarily with the women. I doubt the men much cared about old vs. new money as long as they had loads of money, period.
