As we’re starting to wrap up the season of metal detecting old homes and move over to farm fields we have a few more houses left on the list. Today we visit 2 new properties, one has a house built in the late 1700s and the other from the mid 1800s. Between the two we were hoping to find some really cool relics and some amazing old coins and before the day ended we did just that! All day digging at some really cool places and we even got extra lucky and found THE GOAT!

The churro maker is actually a top for a inkwell bottle from what ive been told. The groves held the quill in place.

I have that exact photo pendant of my youngest son... ...he was born in 1992. I think yours is probably from that decade. The photographer would include it with a package deal. Great digs guys. 🎄👍

Rich's find could be a garter clasp rather than a suspender clasp, especially since it's so small, light weight and decorative. Pretty piece. Love the half cent, Jason. Doug's Model T Tootsie toy is awesome. I sure was great to see Charlie again! Happy Holidays to each of you!

The charm with the baby's picture is from a Sears portrait studio. I worked in one in the early 80's. 😁👍

Back in the 70s, Sears had a promotion in their photography studio with what they called charms into which one could put specially sized photos. Just FYI. :)

The “excrutor” piece is actually the lid/top to an inkwell. Come in a few different shapes. Great find!

The charm with the child is from the 80’s I believe because I had one with my daughters picture in it. They came with photo sittings.

The Ford is a Cabriolet model! There was a Librarian in Kentucky that drove a 31 Model 3 window coupe until the mid 1960's! The Merc is my born in year and I'm still hunting! The dark color is very close to the ones I have dug in Paducah, near the Railroad Shops that were built in the steam age. Coal smoke and ash with high sulfur content caused the stained color! That piece you found after moving to second house(after Rich got 3 wheaties) is an ink well cap (it was a 50s signal)not an "extruder"

That round piece of brass isn't a cookie extruder it's actually an inkwell lid, I dug the exact same one last year. Merry Christmas and happy new year. Your videos are great and the ball busting is amazing, cheers fellas!!

I found a beautiful old detective badge with name and number and rank on it in Elwood Indiana it says the Elwood detective company Elwood indiana . I put it on my keychain twenty years ago wore off all the silver plate now it’s just copper but still solid .one of my favorite pcs. Robert H.

A good way to tell if you have a matron or braided hair is the line under cent on the reverse. Braided hair LC’s do not have the line. Only matron and classic heads do. Great video fellas!

I am new to watching this and find it to be really enjoyable. Was thinking, and maybe you do it, but perhaps before you start a hunt that you draw up a plot on grid and mark where all your finds are and what was found. I think it would be especially cool when searching around a property like that. 🙂👍 What did the owners think of your finds?

Watched Digger Don dig an 1829 half cent from a corn field and that is the only one I've seen until yours. Great find!!

Rich’s cameo with the baby is probably from the 1980’s to 1990’s. My children had pictures taken from JcPenny’s in the late 80’s with the exact cameo.

that part that you didn't know what and you thought was for a meat grinder, it was for an Inkwell bottle top, I found many of them at older homes.

I can't imagine how cold it's gonna be up there this weekend. Gonna be in the teens this weekend in SC.....and windy. Metal detecting is not an option for me this weekend. Lol. Amazing finds! I woulda been happy with the wheat pennies, but a large cent AND half cent......killer man!

The strange looking button that Rich found with the swivel tab in the middle looks like a canvas tent flap button ( maybe military) but, civilian also. It would have had the disc part sewn into one tent flap and then a button hole on the opposing flap for the swivel piece to secure. Agewise would be before we widely used zippers. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE WHOLE GANG.

It is a harness buckle still made and on some of the harnesses I own. It is for a pairs or team harness.

Nice condition on that large cent. It's a little older then you thought though. That's a coronet large cent (1816-1839). The line under one cent gives it away. Great video as always👍

Another entertaining video, good job! Maybe you figured this out already, but the large cent can't be 1848, it has to be older than that. Matron Heads only went up to 1839. Also, it has the line below One Cent on the reverse so it has to be 1839 or earlier.
