The Lord told Joseph Smith as to why not all of his revelations had come to pass. The Lord responded and said, not all revelations come from God. Some come from God, others may come from man being personal inspirations and strong opinions and some can come from the devil. I think most of Brigham Young's ideas were not revelations but personal opinions as well as many others during that time-frame. I feel that they all got carried away within themselves and with their own imaginations and some were way out in left field including the Black issue. Their was no curse upon the black man that was a racist made up idea that many in that day believed in and perpetuated stories to keep it alive as doctrine which it was not only a practice that they chose to uphold in the church.

I know this doctrine well, my brother was named Adam Michael because of this teaching, which was alive and well in the mainstream LDS Church in the late 70s early 80s. Spencer W Kimble was the Prophet I can remember the best, as he was the first prophet I was aware of as a child. I have seen that Kimble changed the LDS teachings into something they never were, were commanded never to compromise with the world and this prophet Kimble changed much of what was originally Unchangeable, but then suddenly It's not anymore, the call BS on one of the groups, either the early Church Prophets or the later, and Mormons are tricked into not knowing what their faith truly teaches by a doctrine that" A live prophet trumps a dead one". This is blasphemy at it's best, that the leadership of the Corporate Church of today has the power to overturn all previous prophecy of all Prophets, this makes them Infallible, which we know can't be true. So what to do with this information? I would suggest that all Mormons listen to Jesus's words only from the Bible, and study the Bible much more than they do. Another thing is that I know that the leadership knows all about the Fallen Ones or the Book of Enoch. They know it, use it, but never teach it, and will deny it, but they were into the occult( this simply means hidden, often referring to hidden teachings, it's neither good nor bad) and are Masonic, so they know but don't teach it. This is a high crime to all LDS of today as they think they know most of the story, but in fact haven't been taught rightly about history, wether it be Old Testament history or Church history, the leadership lies with impunity and without a second thought if it will support the Church System itself and not the Members. This is so obvious to anyone who was in the Church in the 70s or earlier, the Church of today is all but unrecognizable. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not. Hello MrmemyselfandI, many mormons are kind people, I too grew up surrounded by mormons and siblings that are mormon, but most of their actions is cause their trying so desperately to earn heaven, because that is what they are taught in order to be worthy, but a great majority of them are so empty and confused (i’ve seen with my own eyes) because no matter how much we do we it will never redeem us from sin much less earn is heaven. If they so much faith in the book of Mormon and the others they have, my question is? Why don’t t they have faith in the Bible 100%, it is inerrant and authoritative. But what I see here is that they have put their trust in men that have interpreted Scripture to their liking, more then trusting Scripture alone. There is much more I can say but I have to get to doing my HW.

@@richardlusby8949 Thank you for your explanation on Ezequiel 37:16-17, According to biblical history, this portion of Scripture has nothing to do with Mormonism, but everything to do with the nation of Israel splitting into two kingdoms because of the disobedience of one man, King Solomon. This here Scripture is prophesy for both these kingdoms that will come to pass in the future. God will join them back together to be ruled under one king, (Ezequiel 37:24) and for purpose, to serve God and to be of one mind. Nothing to do with the Mormon church. I do encourage you to read the book of Ephesians (in the New Testament). It has blessed me greatly and has illumined me to understand that I am saved by grace through Christ and that the center of my salvation rests in him only. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. The bible has everything to do with the church. Without the bible, there would be no Book of Mormon. Ezekiel Chapters 33-39 deal with prophecies of the restoration of the Gospel. As 2nd Thessalonians 2:3 states, there would be a “falling away”. In Acts 3:21, Peter speaks of a restitution(restoration) of all things which God hath spoken. Chapter 29 of Isiah speaks of a book being given to an unlearned man (Joseph Smith), then a marvelous work and a wonder would proceed among the children of men, look what has happened because of the prayer of a 14-year-old boy, the church is indeed a marvelous work and a wonder, Genesis 49:22 prophecy’s that Joseph (sold into Egypt) is a fruitful bough by a well whose branches (family tree) run over the wall. (lead all the way to what would become the America’s), fruitful indeed. The restitution of all things spoken of by Peter has and is happening and the Book of Mormon is part of that restitution of all things, confirming that Jesus is the Savior of the world! It’s neat that in the old testament Jehovah is the Lord. In the new testament, Jehovah is never mentioned. Jesus Christ is the Lord. He is the Jehovah of the old testament. Merry Christmas!

In Canada we also have fundamentalist Mormons, too. The difference is that Americans, for better or worse, do things on a bigger scale than Canadians. In Canada a fundamentalist Mormon might have 5 wives. In the USA they seem to have 15 wives. In Canada a fundamentalist Mormon might have 15-25 children. In the USA they have 40-65 children. In Canada if fundamentalist Mormons have a dispute they say nasty things about each other. In the USA they shoot each other. The government cannot go after fundamentalist Mormons for polygamy; unless one of their wives is under 15. Right now Canada is getting immigrants from Africa and Asia that are polygamous. For political reasons no government can jail people for practicing polygamy.

In Jacob chapter two the Book of Mormon is very specific about how God feels about polygamy. He, Jacob who was a prophet in the Book of Mormon, tells us that it is a crime and an abomination to God. I realize that you are not Mormon and don't accept the Book of Mormon but I do. I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he did translate the Book of Mormon from the gold plates just as he said he did. Brigham Young, in my opinion from the things I have learned, committed much sin and crime and framed Joseph Smith for it. He and his cronies even changed much of the church history to make it look like Joseph said it was revelation and commanded Joseph to start polygamy and other things contrary to God's desire. The events surrounding the Mountain Meadows massacred defined the Mormon Church because of the way Brigham Young acted before and after the murders. JEM Seven if you see what other authorities have said about some of Brigham Young’s beliefs you will find that even they discounted a lot of what he taught. A prophet can mess up and still be a prophet. King David did many miracles through Gods power, yet he committed one of the worst sins known to man, murder and then adultery. Doesn’t mean he wasn’t a man of God. If you are a Christian then you, too will know that even the very elect can fall and make mistakes. In fact that is pretty much the theme of the story of mankind from the beginning until now. It hasn't been a waste of time to see people realize the Mormon church was lying to them. It hasn't been a waste of time when they report finding a Jesus in the Bible far more glorious than anything the Mormon church had ever taught them. It hasn't been a waste of time when they report freedom and forgiveness that allows them to live without a "Mormon mask." What seems like a waste of time to me is griping about someone answering the accusations of the Mormon church. We back up our claims, because we believe no one has anything to fear from the truth, but liars. If what we're saying is untrue, prove it. Life is short and eternity is long. You and all those like you will one day know the true and everlasting God of this earth and of the the universe! One day you will confess that Jesus is the Christ and Joseph was his prophet! All this time and effort to try to "prove" someone else's beliefs false is such a waste. You can't prove to me or anyone else anything! You know, what if I am right?... Where does that leave you?... What if Joseph really saw God the father and Jesus Christ?... What then...? He very well could have. Who are you to say he didn't?... Why would you deny the true revelation of God?...! I believe he had every right to ask God for understanding for which direction to go in his life. Joseph asked God Which Church to join. He didn't ask, "is their a true church in the world", he assumed one had to be, and he wanted to know which one. You see Joseph Smith was or liked the Methodist sect the most but was confused as to which church to join... Why?... Because they all taught conflicting doctrine and he reasoned he could not settle the argument as to weather who was right or wrong be appealing to the Bible. Why?... Because the different ministers and teachers interpreted the same passage of scripture so different that it destroyed all confidence in simply reading the Bible and getting his answers that way. When Joseph read James 1:5 he said that never did a scripture have more meaning than this did to him at this time. He was struck... This was the answer to his prayers. So he did as James directed and prayed with real faith and real intent on receiving an answer. As he tried to pray he was ceased upon by some unseen force that literally bound his tongue so that he could not speak!... For a time Joseph thought he would be destroyed... Then when he thought all was lost he saw a pillar of light directly over his head and it descended upon him until the light rested upon him. The light he thought was fire, for he said when the light rested on him yet nothing consumed... he thought it was a great fire. Then the heavens were opened for the first time in at least 1000 years Joseph heard a voice call him by name and pointed to the other saying "Joseph this is my beloved Son, Here Him"! This glorious event I can not deny. Why would I?... God the Father introducing His Son in the last dispensation of time. Giving Joseph the knowledge to restore those things in our Christian faith that have been lost or changed. The Truth about God and our relationship to him. This is glorious truth! I will shout it from the roof tops. You and all the powers of hell shall not make it otherwise! God has spoken to us again in these last days and those that reject that message are like those that say, a Bible, a Bible, we've got a Bible and there can't be any more Bible,... Who says God can't speak from the heavens? When and where did God say he would not speak to Man which he created? No my friend you prove to me that God could not and did not speak with a Prophet of God Named Joseph Smith. God has left evidence that he not only spoke to Joseph once but through him restored the gospel, the true gospel of Jesus Christ the One and only Son of God. God commanded Joseph to translate the record of the descendants of Lehi and also those of the brother of Jared. These writings were kept by Prophets of God on this the American Continent and compiled by the Prophet Mormon. This Book contains the everlasting gospel of Christ along with it's saving ordinances of baptism and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Also the Priesthood of God was restored through Joseph Smith, which authorizes those to preform those sacred ordinances. This book is proof of Joseph's divinity as a Prophet of God. To me it is more of a miracle to say Joseph Smith, by himself with no other help, with his face buried in a hat, with no other books, notes, or reference material dictated the Book of Mormon in 65 days with out any revision, at the age of 23-24yrs of age, with no formal education above the third grade. Then find someone that has enough money and convince them to mortgage their property to put up the money to have the fictional book printed. Than to say what he has said all along, that God commanded him to translate the golden plates, that Moroni, Mormons son delivered the plates to Smith and that Joseph translated them by the gift and power of God. Either way It's was a miraculous. I advise you to pray as Moroni directs and if you pray with real intent, having faith in Christ, he promises you will receive your answer to weather the Book of Mormon is true, by the power of the Holy Ghost and by the power of the Holy Ghost you may know the truth of all things. I add my testimony to Moroni's that if you truly seek and pray with real intent, God will manifest the truth to you just like He has to me. I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and that the true church of Christ has been restored to the earth through Joseph Smith and I leave you with this testimony in the Name of our Savior Jesus Christ. Your church says in its standard works that all other churches are wrong - - all our professors are corrupt and all our creeds are an abomination (Joseph Smith History -1). In the same section it specifically says "Presbyterianism is not true." We don't whine that you're "Presbyterian-bashers" or "anti-Presbyterians;" we're making truth claims and we back them up. Rather than try to back up its truth claims, LDS tell us "contention is of the devil" and call us "anti-Mormons" and "Mormon bashers." For all the games you may play, truth matters. The only true church is that which has been redeemed through Jesus Christ, who died and resurrected on the third day by the power of the Holy Spirit. Now when you say “the only true church” does this mean that the apostles and prophets of the Bible were excluded? Cause they weren’t LDS? Mormonism originated in the early 1800’s and the Apostles of the Bible were from the first century and there writings (Bible) have stood the test of time because it is the true inspiration of God’s given word to mankind. I choose to believe in the church that considers the Bible as the only source of guidance for ones life and also choose to believe that what is written therein is truly God’s inspired word.
