THE GOLDEN GATE for Brass Ensemble

An uplifting sense of vigor shines through this piece like the iconic rays of sunlight that beam through the arches of the Golden Gate Bridge. This was a really fun listen, fantastic job!

Thank you for you very descript comment, I always value hearing how others perceive my music since I really cannot objectively listen to my own music and have a reaction like someone who has never heard it before.

Love! The section starting around 1:26 is giving me William Schuman :) I always love the lyrical melodies floating atop rhythmically interesting and unpredictable counterlines.

It’s a necessary textural contrast at that point in the composition. I’ll want to expand this piece and make it longer in the future sometime and develop that section you mentioned and some other parts.

@@AnthonyOTooleMusic You might enjoy Schuman’s “Judith”! There’s some excellent tutti staccato things in the latter half of the composition. :)

This sounds amazing! Flugelhorn should be used more frequently in brass ensemble writing.

I always use it whenever I can in a brass ensemble setting. I need that conical soprano voice.

Great piece, anyway we can get an elongated ended? It just, idk it feels like it falls flat and ends suddenly. I love the music, just not the ending :(
