Great for all level of golfers...Been golfing for 30 years (starting in teens) and it's easy to focus on "controlling" your swing, which comes out as a more tense swing. This fluidity is something you see in a David Duval golf swing that appears to have effortless power. I've (like many) get into control, the feeling of having strong hands at impact to ensure power...and to avoid the feeling of looseness that may allow the face to turn at impact. I need to stop all that and return to the basics of what is being taught here...swing re-do...let's goooo

This is awesome stuff man. As a golfer who has similar struggles with tension/over analyzing, this is a breath of fresh air. Amazing content. Would love to see more of this.

Whats crazy is how much he resonates with you. I totally see in yiur swing, when you follow his instructions your swing looks better, vs ehen you "geek" out in your old swing. Those practice swings look smooth.

Evan, you're extremely lucky to have found a coach that really knows how to teach the golf swing. This type of coach is very rare and hard to find. I wish I had one like him near me. Most others are only interested in putting you into positions and moving statically and not dynamically. Kudos to finding a very good coach and kudos to him for allowing himself to be videoed. Cheers.

As a sometime/beginner I think this is a great demonstration of the biomechanics behind a swing. Love it!

That may be the simplest and the best video I have ever seen regarding the golf swing. It makes you 'think' about 'soft right elbow', and more importantly to swing THROUGH the ball.....not AT the ball.

Really liked the video, I swing great on the range and tighten up on the tee box. Can't wait to spring to do this on course.

I started swinging similarly to this about 2 weeks ago after realizing that my best shots were soft-handed pitch shots. So I basically thought "why not try a similar style with all my irons??!". Yep it worked for me, and the round felt more enjoyable due to less stress.

Great stuff - In the past I occasionally get there and keep losing it. One QUERY. The coach keeps saying, this is not the final story, there is something to modify/change in this soft elbow / shoulder softening tory", What is that? I have watched several videos that dont say "beginner video" etc and I pick up something that undoes my "improved" swing version, to drop down into the incomplete or slightly wrong, basic version. Thanks Schaun

I think my coach is simply saying we’re starting with some foundational stuff and as we progress and build my fundamentals up we may work on my inside takeaway getting more on plane, explore different feels, etc. make sense?
@AaaBbb-rs9jz

Yes it makes sense. but if I already have those possible modifications, that he MIGHT intend, built into my swing, how do I know if they are faults to remove, or future things he may want to put back in? Progress in golf is difficult enough without inadvertently going backwards!

A few other KZfaq golf coaches take this approach and I find it refreshing. Positional teaching contributes to manipulation and many bad golf swings.

I was always told keep the arm straight as long as possible ?? This is totally the opposite .. after 4 years of playing I am already close to calling it a day 😅 this game is so hard and confusing

Left arm straight, Josh is teaching me about right arm bending. Search our podcast for the episode “I want to quit golf”… should help!
