I need to seriously look at HAL. That is a very nice balcony, and if the food is as good as you and others are saying, we need to give it a try. I agree the decor color is perfect! Can't wait to see your full review of the ship and your cruise!

We have only cruised twice, both with Holland America and our last trip was on this ship. We had an aft balcony and were obsessed with it. So much room on it and the chairs were comfy and we loved the foot stools for after excursion naps! There were just the two of us and we travel carry on only so no issues with storage on a 10 day cruise. TV was wonderful as well - Covid numbers were still an issue when we travelled so after an evening show we would watch a movie in the room. Excellent selection and you can stop and restart movies as needed.

Loved your video! My wife and I sailed on the Nieuw Statendam in November (7 day Caribbean cruise) and loved it. The balcony was extra nice with the foot rests under the chairs. Perfect for hanging out there enjoying the ocean view. Plus the food on HAL is always top-notch.

Hi to both! This cabin is identical to one that we just spent 35 nights in on the Koningsdam. The life jackets lived under the bed, and my 6'5" DH took those cabinets for tees & shorts. We are VERY organized, and this cabin was great... never felt crowded! Loved that bath & shower! We were on deck 7, next to suites, and it was SO quiet. Dined in the cabin and balcony often. Bliss.

The stewards will bring you as many extra hanger that you would like and the little table in front of the couch opens up for storage.

Loved our balcony room on Koningsdam this August. Just as you described. Also there was an umbrella, two blankets for the balcony, two cozy bathrobes and two towels for swimming.

I’m gonna have to agree with you guys on everything!! And yup I’d have no problem staying in that cabin lol I’m 5’4 but my husband is 6’ and I know that toilet would bug him too! But I love the shower and the Elimis high end shampoo and lotions that’s very impressive!! Hope you have a wonderful time!! Cheers and love from Canada 🇨🇦

Glad you guys are finally trying HAL!! Regarding the closet storage - the small drawer size is not common across all staterooms. There is something behind the closet space in that room that is limiting its depth. I had sailed in 6020 which had the same configuration (the left closet had the strange cutout and small drawers; whereas anytime I've stayed on deck 7 it was full size (drawers were large, and there wasn't that false wall behind the safe/fridge)

We asked the cabin steward to remove the bedding in the drawers under the bed so we could put our shoes there & it worked out great!

We brought 8 extra low profile hangers. Between adding those and all the shelving in the closet for folded clothes in addition to the closet and night stand drawers, we had plenty of room on a 17 day Hawaiian cruise back in January. It was the Koningsdam but the room we had was identical to this one. Also the unlimited laundry package, which is a spectacular add-on, means we brought less clothes to start with. We suggest purchasing it, you will be amazed at how your clothing is washed and returned, often the very next day, and they follow all instructions- like "wash inside out on delicate in cold water with line dry", for example. Toilet needs to be mastered, even at 5'4" Lol, but not really an issue.

I have sailed the Statendam 3 times, once for 7 days and twice for 14 days. I asked my cabin steward to empty the mini refrigerator, remove the bedding from the bed drawer and over the bed storage, it was not a problem.

We were in a balcony stateroom on this ship several years ago (RSVP charter). I don’t remember anything specifically negative or positive about it (and I’m a six footer also) other than it being new. The music venues are a lot of fun on these ships (especially on a gay charter!). We have another Holland America cruise booked for the future. You guys have a great channel and I love your enthusiasm and positivity!

Hey JJ. Love Elemis products. Been using since I first encountered in 2016 on a cruise. Nice size shower. That is annoying that the toilet is angled that your knee touches the shower door. Nice soft inviting color scheme and well lit. Great tons of outlets. The oversized chair does look comfy. Balcony blinds a step up with a slightly extended balcony with lounging ottoman. I'm glad you showed this, as we are going on our first cruise on Holland America to Alaska in a couple of months. It does look a little tight to me, and I'm a little concerned about storage because there will be three of us in the room. Was there a third bed in this room?

They are pretty out of the way and close to the wall. You would have to fall head first into the wall and be over 6 feet tall to hit your head on them.

No worries! Cruise cabins typically are quite smaller than most hotels or resorts. The suites may be better option for those finding this cabin a bit small. ☺️
