The second half of this is "The Ecstasy of Gold". Metallica uses the original Morricone track from the soundtrack as their intro music. A few years back, I saw them at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, and they played the whole scene from the film while the music played. Standing against the front edge of the stage while the movie scene played on a 52-foot-tall screen while the music blares through a stadium filled with over 40,000 people in a rain shower??? ....That's how memories are made.

I watched an interview with the two vocalists.Tuva Semmingsen AKA the Wa Wa Lady, as she has been called by the tube, actually likes being called the Wa Wa Lady. She couldn't believe how this performance took off on the tube. Christine Nonbo Andersen is the solo vocalist in the audience. This was her first performance with the Danish National Orchestra. Both ladies nailed their performances and added a stunning element to this Ennio Morricone masterpiece.

Hello Jamal, I am a professional musician and I would like to demystify some of the instruments used in the video. The wooden flute is called a recorder, it can also be heard on "Stairway to Heaven". The odd looking, egg shaped instrument is an ocarina, or sweet potato. The percussionist is playing a slap stick, which is used to simulate the crack of a whip. Film music is full of these types of instruments and even more unusual ones. I hope this helps.

Funny parrot story (true). A woman owned this parrot and would allow it to sun on her porch. She went in the house for a moment and came out the parrot was gone. Under US Law parrots have to have a band on their leg to prove it was bred in the US, not imported. You have to have a vet certificate if it has to be removed. Someone located the parrot and they wound up in court. The judge claims there is no way to prove the parrot is hers since the band is gone. She says "Yes, your honor there is. He can whistle the entire theme song to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly". She starts off and the parrot serenades the court. Judge gives back her parrot and the guy is found guilty of the theft.

Ennio Morricone was a composer of film soundtracks, where he used instruments and objects that are not normally used in an orchestral ensemble. Electric guitars, basses, ocarinas, bongos ... but also whips, gunshots, gusts of wind. Entering Morricone's work is a complete immersion. A moving tribute for fidelity down to the smallest details is what the Spaghetti Werstern Orchestra did to him.

they did two pieces to be exact first one is often just referred to as "The good the bad and the ugly" with Main theme added to it as it's the intro score for the movie, the 2nd piece they did ( 05:25 ) is indeed titled "L'estasi dell'oro" meaning as you indeed said "The Ecstasy of gold"

My dad has dementia and I sat on his bed yesterday and played it to him, the reaction was very much like yours and because he won’t remember next time I see him we can do it all over again, the power of the orchestra is spectacular, so many sounds from everywhere it’s overwhelming then Christine Andersen pops up soprano like on the balcony and takes it to 11!! The weapon she has just blows me away every single time. It’s pure beauty from one of my all time favourite movies . Spread that s*#t like confetti 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
