@olekcholewa8171 I can't say for Catholics but I can talk about Orthodoxy, and they're pretty similar anyways. They say Mary had a sinless NATURE. And she was blessed above all women (Luke 1:42), she was still human so she still sinned but she had a sinless NATURE due to the blessing and the grace of the Holy Spirit God gave her. And she was probably the one woman on the earth who's committed the least sin

@@Pomni740 Yes he did. There is lots of proof of his existance, and marks it left on Earth. If he wasn't alive, Christianity wouldn't have spread throughout Europe and Rome. Also, we found the spot he was buried, and lots more prooving of his existance. One of the things that cause some humans not to believe in God or Jesus Christ is prosperity. When someone has too much comfort or prosperity in their life, they think that there are no consequences to their actions, therefore there is no God. Also a lot of Christianity changed our world. The year right now is 2024 A.D, and A.D means "Ano Domini", and if you translate that into Latin is says "In the year of our Lord", and it started after Jesus ascended into heaven.

@stevemacdonald7438
@stevemacdonald7438 Ай бұрын
There are a few key aspects that could be clarified or enhanced to deepen the theological richness and ensure clearer communication of the Gospel: Nature of Sin and Human Responsibility: The presentation mentions that "humans... all sided with evil," but it could further explain the nature of sin and its consequences. Specifically, it would be helpful to clarify that sin is not only about siding with evil but involves rebellion against God's sovereign authority and law. This deepens the understanding of why sin is so serious and why it necessitates redemption. Holiness and Justice of God: While the presentation effectively communicates God's mercy through Jesus Christ, it could also emphasize God’s holiness and justice. These attributes explain why God cannot simply overlook sin and why the sacrificial death of Christ is necessary-not just as a demonstration of love but as a fulfillment of justice. The Work of Christ on the Cross: The presentation would benefit from a clearer exposition of substitutionary atonement-how Christ’s death on the cross was not merely a battle against evil forces but a substitution for sinners, bearing the penalty of sin on their behalf. This helps make sense of statements like "his death was actually a sacrifice for the evil we have done." Repentance and Faith: The call to faith is present, but the concept of repentance might also be included. Repentance involves turning away from sin and turning towards God, which complements the invitation to trust in Christ. Emphasizing both elements can provide a more complete picture of the biblical response expected from the gospel. Personal Transformation and New Life in Christ: The transformative power of the Holy Spirit could be highlighted more explicitly. While it mentions that Christians have the Holy Spirit in them, elaborating on how the Spirit works to transform us into the likeness of Christ and empowers believers for godly living would be beneficial. Eschatological Hope: The presentation touches on future resurrection and victory over evil, but elaborating on the new creation-where God will dwell with His people in a restored and renewed creation free from sin, suffering, and death-could enhance the eschatological hope that motivates Christian living. Invitation to Discipleship: Lastly, incorporating a clearer call to discipleship could be valuable. Following Jesus is not only about escaping punishment but also about entering into a life of following Him, marked by obedience and growth in godliness. Addressing these points could provide a more comprehensive and theologically robust presentation of the Gospel, which is crucial for both understanding and transformation.

I don't know if you have already covered the subject, but can you make a video or link me a past video of predestination? I don't understand this, such as, if I am a good person that believes in Christ and tries to live a good life based on what the bible says, can still go to hell because I was already predestined to go there? I know that no one deserves Gods forgiveness because we are all sinners, but is accepting Christ and trying to live a Christian life for nothing, if we are already predestined to hell? I'm just confused, not trying to start an argument.
@foofyp3989
@foofyp3989 8 күн бұрын
I'm not that familiar with Predestination either, but hopefully this will get more people coming here and helping us out :) From what I can gather, if you have faith in Christ then that automatically means that you are one of the chosen/predestined people that will go to heaven, because only the chosen people would have the holy spirit to guide them and prevent them from falling away from their faith. If you do fall away from your faith though (or never got it), then that means you weren't one of the chosen :( (because the chosen can't fall away (although they can still have moments in their life where they question their faith, but as long as they keep coming back and believe in the end then they are one of the chosen)) (but that probably doesn't matter to you anymore because now you don't have faith and don't care about God or what happens to you) You seem pretty stressed about this, so hopefully that clears some thing up. Just being worried that you will be damned to hell shows that you are probably one of the predestined to go to heaven because you want to have faith in Christ. Keep reading your bible and learning more about God and hopefully the both of us will be forgiven and get to go to heaven :D

One more thing that RZ left out Jesus came down as well because back in the OT, animal sacrifices must be made in order to atone for the sins that the Israelites had caused, but they had to keep doing it over again in order for their sins to be paid. But in the NT, the gospel, specifically, Jesus came down, died on the cross, and paid for our sins once and for all. We do not have to do animal sacrifices for our sins to be atoned. Believing what Jesus had done, not what we’ve done, is what saves us. Lastly, Jesus is the fulfillment of the law and the God that the people had been waiting all these years . There are passages in the OT that foretell Jesus coming in the NT. But good 2 min video! Keep doing the Lord’s work RZ.

@@Pomni740 Christianity is based on thousands of years of God’s involvement in the affairs of man. The existence of Christianity alone is the evidence. It is based on the historical resurrection of Christ; if it didn’t happen, there would be no Christianity. Moreover, Christianity spread in persecution where people who gained neither status nor money were willing to die for what they saw: the risen Christ and the acts of the apostles. So how do we know it happened? For the New Testament we have 5700 manuscripts in greek, 10,000 manuscripts in latin vulgate, 5000 manuscripts in ethopic, coptic, armenian, slavonic, georgian, and gothic. 20000 handwritten manuscripts were made before the printing press from 2nd century to 10th century. There are greek maunscripts of the entire new testament over 400 pages long. In total there are 2.5 million pages of the new testament and 1 million comments on the new testament from early church fathers: ignatius, clement, polycarp, bishop of rome, bishop of antioch, papias, and many others. 6000+ manuscript copies about Jesus alone are dated within 100 years of His life. That means they're written by people who knew Him or knew those who knew Him. To compare there's less than 10 manuscript copies for Caesar dated 900 years later. ~10 extra biblical sources dated ~100 years of His life confirm Jesus was born a J[...], died on a cross, and His followers and 500 others believed He rose from the dead and then lived transformed lives: e.g. Saul, who put Christians in jail before Jesus appeared to Him, then as Paul wrote half the New Testament The Bible was written by 40 people over 1500 years in 3 languages across 3 continents. - they all say the same thing about the same God and Jesus Christ as the Son of God and savior of mankind; yet they say it different: History, allegory, poetry, or prophecy. Across both testaments there are 63779 cross references. Of the 1817 prophecies, half have been fulfilled, including 330 about Jesus. Science estimates it's a 10^17 chance for one man to fulfill 8 of them. Jesus fulfilled all 300. That number is so astronomically big it’s statistically impossible…unless Jesus is Lord Jesus said the Old Testament was true and He is God (John 8:48-59). Why would a nation who already believed they were chosen people invent a new faith - gaining neither money or status, and facing excommunication and painful demises - about some carpenter who claimed to be God? Either Jesus was mad, and there are more documents written about a mad man than anyone in human history…or Jesus is God and He was seen risen again, and He promised to raise all who follow Him up too. What makes more sense? The answer is plain as day

"The church of Rome once in times of old was for the great glory of her piety, her heavenly doctrine, her divine service, Christian discipline and constancy in the faith against all heretics, most famous. And as the sun in the firmament shines far brighter than all stars, so she shined far above all churches on earth by example of her exceeding Christian piety, that well and fittingly she deserved to be generally called the mother of all churches. But into what and into how great darkness and blindness did she after sink by God’s just judgment, being as it were cast out of heaven and in the same still lies buried and drowned? He that in such great light of the Gospel sees this not is blinder than a mole. Neither is it any new thing, seeing the same happened first to the church of the Israelites, afterward to the churches in the East and to them in Greece." -Girolamo Zanchi, Confession of the Christian Religion, Dedicatory Epistle, pg. 2

I have some questions. You mentioned that, through Jesus's death, that any amount of evil one does is forgiven when one has faith in him. Would this mean that, for instance, a murderer is pardoned of his crime or do you mean that he suddenly becomes somehow incapable of evil? Either way, I have trouble with that. Maybe you can answer that for me?

He’s forgiven of his sin by God, but still has to face justice on earth. Him being able to be forgiven might sound unfair, but no one deserves forgiveness. It’s a gift, not a right.

He is pardoned. Nobody (except Jesus ofc) is somehow incapable of evil, Christians still sin when our faith becomes weak. And that happens a lot more than anyone would like. The price of sin is death, both mortal death and spiritual death (eternal separation from God - because God is a holy God and cannot mix with sin). The good news is Jesus already died for our sins, so he already took the punishment we deserved on himself, declaring that the price for our sin has already been paid. So in your example, when the murderer puts his faith in God, he is pardoned before God, and his faith will bring a thorough change in him.

The gospel is not for everyone, it’s only for those that really try, it’s only for people that can truly love. There’s something I learned over the years, you gotta have the will implemented in you, it’s either something you have or you don’t. Just faith alone isn’t enough for god, we gotta put works into it, salvation just isn’t complete without works. I’m talking about works such as turning away from sin

Hi, I'm still pretty new to Christianity (I was raised a Christian, but only now have I started to actually learn and explore what being Chrisitan even means) so hopefully this will answer your questions or attract other people to correct me xD 1. I don’t really understand what you are asking here? Humans have always had free will, and animals have free will, and God has free will, everything with a mind has free will. Sin and Evil is the result of our free will to choose disobeying God over obeying him. The first sin happened when we chose to disobey God by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil even when God told us not to. We might have been tempted by the snake/Satan, but we still chose to trust Satan instead of God. (Admittedly it was Adam and Eve who did this, but we also choose to doubt God and stray from what he wants for us too. (It just might not be as obvious as with Adam and Eve’s case.)) 2. His resurrection defeats death because he came back from the dead. No one should be able to come back from the dead. When we die we will also be brought back from the dead like Jesus was, so that means we won't have to fear death and death won't be permanent, so death is defeated. His sacrifice/death for our sins defeats evil because he paid for all the sins/evils we commit and have commited. Because our sins have been paid for we can be perfect in the eyes of God and evil cannot taint us anymore, so evil is defeated. 3. Evil is still around because the way Jesus defeated evil is more symbolic than him actually beating up evil demons and defeating them in battle (that seems to come in revelation). The way he defeats evil is by paying for our sins and making it so that we are perfect and unsinful/evil in the eyes of God so we can be with him (to be with God/in heaven someone needs to be perfect like God, but we can't be perfect because we are tainted with sin). This defeats evil because evil can no longer taint those who have faith in Jesus (we still do evil/sinful things because we aren't actually perfect, but those evil things will be washed away and forgiven if we believe Jesus paid for those sins with his blood by dying on the cross) 4. The penalty for sinning is death, so to defeat evil/sin you need to pay the price by dying. Jesus paid that price by sacrificing himself for us so that we wouldn’t have to pay it ourselves. Jesus was also the only one who could pay that price because he was God and he was perfect. We would’ve needed a lot of sacrifices to pay for the sins of the whole world, but God (the most perfect and all powerful being in the universe) did that himself and died instead. 5. Before Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice the Israelites were following the Leviticus rituals of sacrificing sheep and other livestock whenever they commited a sin. Those animals would pay the price of death so that the Israelite that committed the sin could continue to live on and be perfect in the eyes of God. Of course this was flawed because what if someone forgot to sacrifice an animal or they didn’t realise they sinned when they actually had. So I think they would probably also be saved if they put their faith in God’s prophecy to one day send someone to defeat evil once and for all (these prophecies come as early as Genesis 3:15 “And I will cause hostility between you [the snake/Satan] and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head [Jesus defeating the snake/Satan with a fatal blow], and you will strike his heel. [The snake/Satan fighting back but only creating an insignificant wound in comparison]”). Without knowing it the ancient Israelites were also putting faith in Jesus’ death on the cross paying for all of their sins, just like we do now. 6. Being a Christian means that you believe that you are sinful and in need of forgiveness, so you have faith that God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for your sins even though you don’t deserve it, so that you can be forgiven and live forever with God. Acknowledging that you are a sinner requires you to repent because repenting is you feeling regret and sadness for your sins, which then makes you want forgiveness. Being non-repentant, I assume, means that you don't care or feel bad that you lied to your best friend or got mad at your boss and wished he got into an “accident.” This means you probably think that you are perfect and can't possibly do anything wrong, so then, if you're so perfect then you wouldn't even need Jesus to save you. So, are you even a Christian then? It's hard to know, only God knows what those people are thinking in their hearts. If they believe (even if it's just a tiny, tiny amount) that they are a sinner and that they need to be saved by Jesus, then they will be forgiven and saved because God is a gracious and forgiving god. 7. God needed to kill himself/his son, because that would be the ultimate sacrifice. What could even come close to the death of God? Nothing. To forgive the entire world and the many generations to come of all of their sins/evils, you would need someone as powerful and perfect as God to die. Nothing else would've even come close to that. 8. Siding with evil just means being like the person I described in question 6. It’s just being someone who doesn’t believe they need forgiveness or need to be saved because they think they are already perfect. God lets us make the choice between putting our faith in Jesus or in a different god or in nothing at all. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, yes, but if you don’t think you needed him to do that, or believe he never did that, then God will sadly let you make the choice to pay for your sins. And paying for your own sins means that you will die (and pay for your sins in hell), because “the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23 Wow, that was a very dark way to end that… “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 full quote, because this makes the ending more happy xD I hope this clears some things up, make sure to continue reading your Bible and putting your faith in Jesus and his forgiveness. I haven’t finished reading the Bible yet, all I have to go off of is all the children’s stories and random verses I memorised in Sunday school. I’m only in Judges ToT wish me luck! @@foofyp3989 1. Because humans sided with evil (talking about adam and eve and humans generally) its nice you are actually reading the bible, unlike many christians who don't read it yet claim they know it. 2.the problem with his "Death" is that God isn't supposed to die, he his unchangeable and immortal according to 1 Timothy 1:17 NIV and (some) Christians take Jesus as god, even thought when he was rejected he said a prophet is honored everywhere except around his people Mark 6:4 and Matthew 13:35-38 why did he say a prophet? because he isn't god. the more you learn you will understand, hope you get rightly guided! keep up the heat. why can't god just forgive? why need a sacrafice if the heart is truly believing? i mean the sin is paid, why repent then? 3. him getting sacraficed doesn't mean WE get to be perfect (he called the Father because he wasn't crucified on his own admission) what about the previous people? Abraham Moses etc? what happened to them if they can't go to heaven with sin? is it "fade to black" and then *pop* day of judgement? why jesus' blood is the one that pays for it? why need a crucifixtion? 4. but MANY prophets before Jesus sinned, yet they talked to the lord and *forgave them*, i think it's mentioned in the bible. yet they were not Killed, i mean only some sins have the death penalty according to the law Jesus came to fulfill God created us intended to be imperfect, so why get confused on why we sin if we are created to be weak? for the israilites confessions of their entire sins read Nehemiah 9 and that god is gracious, merciful, compassionate etc. the Israilities also sacraficied animals for god and ate them. do some research on what did they do to the sacraficed animal the israilites don't believe Jesus is messiah thought? so that doesn't mean they put faith in him, just don't google what they say about him and his mother (another way of saying google it but don't say i didn't warn you) 6. the non-repentant you mentioned is basically a narccist, someone with high Ego and tricked by the devil into thinking highly of himself, or someone not caring to acknowledge god's existance just a question to know what you think why god accepts jesus' sacrafice? he sent him to teach the bible not die for their sins. 7. but god killing himself for the bible says "God ressurected Jesus" read from acts 2:14 something i wanna note is verse 22, since Peter calls Jesus a man sent by god for the ressurection Acts 2:24 8.its basically a disbeliever/idol/worshipper or anyone not beliving in God. for us every person pays his own sins, how to remove the sins is by doing good deeds that takes away the bad deeds and repent and let go of any evil you did have. funny thing about Romans Romans 3:7 New International Version 7 Someone might argue, “If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?” Paul is arguing, now why would his falsehood *enhance* god's truthfulness? i'm not a Christian i'm a Muslim and was just wondering these questions after watching the video and thinking what do these mean. good luck, may i see you in heaven too brother :) continue learning for the sake of God, and thank you just keep an eye out for seemingly out of place verses. this will explain itself the more you go deeper into the bible.

@@ahmed_hamoda9783 (1/2) Because I'm crazy and wrote way too much, sorry xD Haha, I'm feeling a little out of my depth at the moment xD Maybe in a couple years when I've learnt more we can have a better in depth discussion about this. For now, I'll just try my best... 1. Yeah, I agree with this. Humans siding with evil (giving into Satan's temptations) is what started all this sinful mess. I’m not very familiar with Islam so are all the Old Testament stories the same for you? Like do you read about Adam and Eve in the Quran too? 2. The trinity goes into this kind of stuff I think? Yes, Jesus is God, but Jesus is also human. He's like the human version of God (I’m sure it’s actually a lot more complicated than that, but anyway). God the Father is immortal so he can't be killed. But, God the Son, Jesus, is human so he can be killed and he can die (or at least the human part of him can be killed) I just looked up the Prophet thing you mentioned and I think Jesus can say he's a Prophet while still also being God. Wouldn't him being God make him the ultimate best Prophet? It could also just be a reference to another Prophet like the Prophet Isaiah or just Prophets in general. I don't know how God works, but since he's all powerful I'm gonna assume he probably can just forgive all our sins without having to do anything and he didn't need to make it super dramatic . But he chose to have Jesus die on the cross so that it could be compared to the Leviticus rituals and so he could become like the ultimate sacrifice. (I’ll come back to this one when I properly read the gospels from the New Testament, because I’m not super confident in my answer here xD) Otherwise there’s this weird cosmic rule that sin MUST be paid for in death, but I don’t think God has to follow any rules. Maybe that’s because God is a just god which means he wants Justice. It’s kinda like when a judge gives you jail time to pay for your crimes, God will send you to hell to pay for your sins. But he doesn’t because he loves us and sent his Son to take that punishment instead. Allah asks you to submit to him (I think…) and that’s like a bunch of rules you have to follow so that you can be with him? Again, I know barely anything about Islam, so maybe these are all incorrect assumptions, please enlighten me :) I just think that’s kinda stressful if you have to make sure you pray everyday and not break any of the commandments? Or maybe the term submit just means put faith in him, I don’t know… I guess, yeah, all your sins have been forgiven so you could go murder a bunch of people and then go “Well it’s all good, cause I’m forgiven.” If we imagine it like you killed some people and now you’re on death row and you’re gonna die tomorrow, but then your best friend comes up to you and says he’s done all the paperwork and now he’s going to swap places with you. Wouldn’t you feel bad that your friend died even though you were the one that did the crime? So then hopefully you would live the rest of your life feeling guilty for your friend’s death and trying to do better so that his sacrifice wasn’t for nothing. Paul probably talks about this (just seems like something he’d say) when I get up to that part I’ll try find a verse for you :) It’s still good to repent, because it shows that you realise how bad sin is and that you wish that you could stop. Then the gospel is what turns that guilt into joy because you have been washed clean of your sin and one day you’ll get to go to heaven where there will be no sin. Then you sin again and feel bad because, oh no, I did a bad thing again, I’m a horrible person. And it’s like a loop. Does Islam talk about sin and it getting paid for you or you paying for it yourself through good works or something like that? And do you also believe in heaven, a place where there’s no sin and it’s where we can be with God? Sorry, for most of my life I’ve thought Islam was this whole other religion like Hinduism or something, only recently did I find out it’s connected to Christianity. I’m trying to figure out what parts are similar, and what are different xD 3. Yeah, his sacrifice doesn't magically fix us and make us perfect. We can still sin. It only makes us perfect in the eyes of God. Like if God had a radar that picks up evil things then it would have used to “ping” when one of us came into view, but now it doesn't because according to the radar, we aren't evil, we're perfect. But If you take the radar away, then you can see that we're actually still sinners. Well, if Abraham and Moses had faith that God would eventually send someone to defeat sin or maybe just realised that their sin was bad and wished that they wouldn’t sin anymore (the Old Testament is confusing especially when I haven’t read the New Testament to connect everything together yet), then I’m guessing their sins are forgiven and they’ve also been washed clean. Jesus died on the cross for them too, so they’d get to go to heaven. I think everyone who’s died is kinda in what we would call a coma. Only when Jesus comes back and unites heaven and earth, will the dead come back to life and start living in the perfect world, heaven. It would be kinda weird if Leonardo Da Vinci, for instance, went to heaven and started inventing all this stuff because he wasn’t limited by sin and other people’s greed. Then when we eventually get to heaven it will be this crazy sci-fi place because Leo managed to invent holograms or something. So I think it would make sense that we all get to start at the same time and start from scratch (so the earth would have no buildings or anything yet) Because they’re in a coma it kinda would be like “fade to black” then pop judgement day xD Like how people in comas or when they faint sometimes say it was like blinking. It was Jesus’ blood because then it’s God’s blood (again there’s that complicated Jesus is human, but also God trinity stuff. I still don’t really understand that.) It was a crucifixion just because that was a way Romans executed really bad criminals? History just played out that way. He could’ve been burnt at the stake or stoned or anything else, but it just turned out to be a crucifixion. Then Christian’s went a bit crazy and made it their symbol everywhere xD 4. Oh, maybe I missed the part where God forgives Prophets of their sins or I haven’t got up to it yet, because I don’t remember that happening. I’ll keep an eye out for it :) The Prophets might not have been killed, but they still ended up dying (of old age or of a disease, or whatever else) (except Elijah for some reason, hopefully it makes more sense when I read that part). If their sins are forgiven because they put faith in God then they will be brought back from the dead, otherwise they’ll pay for their sins in hell/spiritual death (I think I heard someone call it that), where they will be eternally separated from God. I thought all sins were punishable by death? I’ll keep an eye out for that too while I read I don’t think God meant to create us as weak or inferior, Genesis 1:27 says that we were created in the image of God. So, like identical to him? We only became weak and inferior because of our choice to disobey/sin against him which kind of corrupted us. That’s what made us inferior to him. But it’s all good because God fixed that by washing us of our sin so that we can be like him again :) Wow, that sounds super blasphemous xD I’m not saying we are actually God!

(2/2) 5. I’m still a little confused about how God is so forgiving and gracious, yet he destroys cities and threatens to destroy the Israelites on multiple occasions during the Old Testament. I have to ask my pastor about that because maybe I need to look at the bigger picture or something xD I guess God can still get angry, but he is gracious because he lets the Israelites off the hook a lot and only takes action when they refuse him many many times. Anyway, that doesn’t really relate to anything you said xD Does Islam have a different view of what God is like? Yeah, Leviticus went into all the brutal stuff they did to the animal sacrifices. I think it was emphasised so that the Israelites could see the full extent of how bad their sins were. Imagine watching your best sheep get its blood splattered all over the arc, then realise that that would be you if the sheep hadn’t taken your place. Parallels with Jesus taking our place, that’s why he’s the ultimate sacrifice. And the priests probably ate the meat because they didn’t have their own sheep or land, so it was God giving them food to eat. Hopefully they cooked it and didn’t eat it raw, because that would be a little weird. Some of Israelites believed Jesus was the messiah, weren’t Jesus’ disciples Israelites? But, I know that a lot of them also didn’t (that’s why Judaism is a thing I think). In Judaism they’re still believing that God will send a Messiah, that Messiah just wasn’t Jesus. The Ancient Israelites don’t even know Jesus because he wasn’t born yet, so there’s no way they could say whether he was or wasn’t the Messiah. All the Ancient Israelites could do was put faith that God would keep his promise, which he did. Maybe they weren’t saved that way, maybe they had to stick to their sacrifices and rituals. I guess we won't know until we get to Heaven. I just think God wouldn’t change the way you get saved, it’s always been the same way, putting faith in him and in Jesus (even if you don’t realise the Messiah you put your faith in is/was actually Jesus) Maybe, if you strongly believe there was NO WAY it could’ve ever been Jesus then you won’t be saved? Wait, do Muslims believe in being saved? 6. Yeah, that was the best example I could think of. Non-repentant is not feeling bad for doing something and I feel like everyone feels bad for at least one thing they’ve done. So the only person who would be completely non-repentant would be a narcissist xD One of our sins could be being non-repentant about most of our other sins or not even realising we’ve sinned. But you have to at least realise you’re bad, which means repenting in some way, to want forgiveness which brings you to Jesus and then you become a Chrtistian. I think God sent Jesus to do both of those things. He sent Jesus to teach the Bible and to also die on the cross for our sins. That’s why Jesus does both of those things. If he was only sent to teach the Bible then he would’ve only done that and wouldn’t have taught about the forgiveness of sins and all that. And if he was only sent to die on the cross then he would’ve just gone and died somewhere and ticked off “pay for sins of humanity”. He preached, did miracles, and died on the cross so he could point everyone in the right direction (which is looking to him for forgiveness), show that he was the son of God, and then make his death become the ultimate sacrifice instead of just some random dude dying. 7. Yeah, this is trinity stuff again. Jesus is God and also Human. I guess Paul is appealing to Jesus’ human side because that makes it easier to understand? I need to do more research on where the trinity even came from (I don’t know how explicitly it’s stated or supported in the Bible) and how to understand it better. 8. Yep, I’m pretty sure being an unbeliever means, unfortunately, you’ve sided with evil. Is paying for your own sins through good deeds, what muslims believe? Paul’s falsehood is like his sin or unfaithfulness to God. This would enhance God’s truthfulness (or how God stays faithful to his believers) because it enhances the message that even though Paul is a sinner, God will still love him and forgive his sins. Paul is asking why he isn’t praised for his sin, since his sin makes God appear so much more forgiving and gracious. Then Paul says in the following verse that that’s silly, sin is something horrible and shouldn’t be praised. Anyone who sins on purpose will find themselves unforgiven. That’s just my interpretation of that, I’ll update this when I’ve actually read that part of the Bible in full :) Ah, I just read your new reply. Do you count as an “average guy?” xD You seem pretty knowledgeable in this kind of stuff, so I’m gonna assume it’s okay to ask you the questions that I did. I do plan on reading the Quran at some point (I wanna read the Bible first though) so I can get a better insight into other religions. I’ll make sure to consult that too as an answer to my questions :) And no, I’ve never heard anything about Muslims or Islam mentioned during sermons or in Sunday school. That’s why I thought it was a completely different thing. It’s a little weird, you’d think it would be a good idea to talk about it since they’ve probably influenced each other over the years. Does Christianity get brought up in the Islam equivalent to church sermons? (mosques?) Also apologies for my massive, pretty much an essay, comment xD But this has been a really fun discussion and I was getting a little too into it and couldn’t stop :D

Here's an important connection. Evil as we know it is simply a perversion of good; while everything God creates is good, everything we create is bad. The bible teaches all throughout that when good can only be corrupted into evil, not the other way round. That when evil meets good, the good becomes evil. (Galatians 5:9 for example makes this stance very clear.) Similarly the Torah is very particular about clean vs unclean things, and that clean things are made unclean by touching another unclean thing. However, what we learn in both the old and new testaments is that God alone has the power to turn evil into good; unclean into clean. In Isaiah's dream, his black (unclean) coal is touched by God's white (clean) burning coal, and Isaiah fears that this contact will turn God's coal unclean. But he learns that in Heaven, in God's upside down kingdom, good uniquely turns evil into good, and Isaiah's coal becomes burning white as well. This is of the same importance as Jesus' actions in the Gospels. He comes to heal the sick, to reclaim the good things from evil. As you alluded to, Jesus turns life into death with the resurrection of himself and others. God gave us good things which we turned evil through our innate sin. The Gospel, at leasr partially, is God turning our evil back into his goodness - reconquering his creation from itself.

The proclamation of the Kingdom of God coming is a major part of the gospel as well. Eventually Jesus will rid the world of all evil, so it's best to repent of your own selfish way of life and turn back to God. The resurrection with new heaven and new earth is coming regardless if you agree with Jesus kingship or not. You might as well align with the king who loves you to the point of death than dying in your own evil ways.

@@mymicrowaveisonfire25 Angels act almost as Gods servants are are described as celestial with wings but it can vary. In Isaiah 6:1-3, they are described to be worshiping God, and in Psalm 91:11-12, they are commanded to protect us people. And finally in Luke 1:26-38, they are described as messengers of God. To summarize, angels have many duties they have to fulfill and act like servants to the king.

1:07 hmm, so, if I get this right, it's good to be bad for a while... because Jesus did the same with death to defeat it? Or in another words: if I want to defeat some evil in my life, I need to be or do that evil until it hasn't any impact in my life anymore?

"ermmm, god has to sacrifice himself to save us from himself even though he's omniscient and all powerful because... erm, reasons. also there's totally only one true version of the bible (the one i read obviously), and no texts left out of it or any changes ever because le god. everything in it really happened despite no evidence for cataclysmic events because erm i have a monetary incentive in this belief system"

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you The Gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, and in which you stand; by which since then you have been saved, if then you kept in memory what I preached to you-unless you had believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: How that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. @@ryanjuanico4498 Amen! Blessed St. Paul's life was dedicated to proclaiming The Gospel. For I am not ashamed of The Gospel of Christ: it is the power of God for salvation to every one who believes; to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "He who by faith is righteous will live." (Romans 1:16-17)

According to Calvinists choosing to do good and accept Jesus don't really matter, because God only chooses you if he wants you so if he already chose you you'll do good anyway.

No bro, that’s not the way! It’s good that you feel horrible for sinning, I wish I could say that, unfortunately one of my sins is not repenting for most of them :( But both of us have been forgiven for our sins! When Jesus died on the cross, our sins were all forgiven. That time you lied to your friend, forgiven. The other time you got mad at your boss and wished they fell down the stairs, forgiven. When you didn’t go to church, forgiven. Even if you tortured and killed 5 people, forgiven. And because all of our sins have been forgiven, in the eyes of God we are perfect. To live with and join God you have to be perfect, sounds impossible. How can I be perfect if I’m never kind to my neighbour and I’m always breaking the 10 commandments? But the good news is that because you know that you are a sinner and are in need of forgiveness, Jesus died on the cross for all your sins and paid the price so that you can be forgiven and so that you CAN be perfect. You CAN live with God because you’re perfect now, like right now as you’re reading this, you are perfect! I’m so glad that you realise that you are a sinner. Yes, it’s good to try to stop sinning and to try and be a good person, keep striving for that. But remember that you will sin again, it’s inevitable for us humans unfortunately. You will always keep sinning, but do you know what? God loves you anyway. He loves you so much that he sent his one and only son, Jesus, to take the punishment you deserve. He died on the cross so that even though you are a sinner and you will always be a sinner, you will still get to have an eternal life with God because now all your sins have been washed away and to God, you are perfect. Joining him isn’t about if you sin or not, it’s about knowing your sin and believing in Jesus to forgive you. You have a lot of faith, keep reading your Bible and I hope to see you in heaven :D
