I think it’s hilarious how we saw the fiercest female alliance in Survivor history up to that point blow a 6-1 lead to the schlubby fat guy who ended up winning. Chris D is a legend

Chris Daugherty is one of the forgotten great winners. If you rewatch that season, he had the shittiest hand dealt to him. Overcame a power female alliance that was just picking the guys off with ease and he flips that and then runs the whole game (still as the only guy) to the finish and wins. Amazing.

Chris is one of my top 3 favorite winners. His ability to take things in stride without flipping out while simultaneously gaming literally everyone else in the game is Tony V level gameplay.

Chris is so underrated, he essentially won the game the game himself, edit:well he had a little help but you get it.

Chris's move to narc on Scout/Twila was arguably a good move since they'd already demonstrated that they weren't willing to go rocks so now that it was a 4-3 split they would need to flip someone in the 4 . . . unlikely since they were unable to do that in the previous tribal. With that in mind, Chris needs to cause distrust within the women alliance so spreading that info is enough to pull that off and help him survive another day.

Fun fact: Chris is the only winner to date to attend the first tribal council of the season and receive a vote(s).

What I think is hilarious is how he was supposed to go home at final 7 but because they thought his wife would feel responsible, they kept him resulting in his win. If they were to vote him out at final 7, I honestly believe Ami or Julie would’ve won the season just judging by how the numbers would’ve turned without Chris being there. The girls never would’ve mentioned getting rid of Eliza, then at final 6 Julie, LeAnn and Ami would get Eliza and go to final 4 where Eliza would get 4th, and Julie and Ami would fight to see who goes against LeAnn. There is the possibility that LeAnn wins in final 2, but very unlikely against Ami or Julie

The vote for Sarge changed the game in his favor, it helped him with his connection to the women, I love how you highlighted that. Great video!

I really liked vanuatu mainly because Chris late game coz reminded me alot my times on high school years where my only option for socialize with someone was group of girls with same personality kind like Eliza,Twila or Amy .. I really felt like Chris sometimes

I come home from an operation and see that O.U.A.I. uploaded a Chris video. Seriously, you have no idea how happy this made me while I'm just SITTING here, you KNOW? In the HOSPITAL bed! In all seriousness, Chris' tale through Vanuatu was a truly spectacular revenge story. This man was Inigo Montoya, The Bride of Kill Bill, Chuck Norris, you name it, he's surpassed it in my book.

Great video...Chris winning is a great example of how any "All Something" alliance usually doesn't work well. It's not that women can't work together in real life, I want to put that out first. Any group that is "All Something" will break down and crash in this environment, especially once all the "others" are gone. Our society works well because of our diversity (and that we don't have to vote each other off, so to speak). There is something psychological to this when you watch it unfold. If I am ever stranded on Fiji trying to win a million bucks, I will try my best to diversify my alliance (or voting blocks)...being friends with all the archetypes seems to be the best strategy, so long as you find the balance between being the island's glue and being the jury threat because you're too nice. Chris seems to have this season in the bag upon the re-watch.

I've been waiting for this video. Chris is definitely my favorite winner. I loved how villainous and deceptive he was. I still have memories of watching this season live, as a kid.

I wanted to marry Chris when he said "I'm not real good at the balance beam!" That was SUCH a great self-deprecating joke and instantly skyrocketed his social game (and made viewers like me want to root for him). Definitely in my top 10 list of player quotes.

Chris is my favorite winner. He got a jury of scornful women who didn't want a man to win, to vote for a man to win. And the fiercest women's alliance at them time, was brought to their knees, by an out of shape middle aged dude who at the beginning couldn't get over a balance beam to save his life, but at the end, he dismantles a women's alliance of 6 ON HIS OWN, and for the cherry on top, gives one of the best final tribals ever, schmoozing them all, and it worked, only Scout called him out on his BS

Great player of the game! When he was against the odds he did so well to mix things up and stay in the game. He also did so well at the final tribal council.

Vanuatu deserves better in the Jeffrey-sphere; damn Julie Berry! 😬😹 Really, it and China are my usual go-to's for newbies.. and, Gabon, of course, gotta love a giggle and Gabon has been one of the best locations; Ace's elephant confessional is *chef's kiss* Chris honestly was so fun to watch, he definitely dominated the game play and was just entertaining the whole way through. Him and Twila will be hard to beat as my favourite finalists.

Honestly I feel bad for Brook. Poor guy was just on the wrong side of the numbers. If not for the fat 5 I honestly think he has a decent shot to make it far and possibly even win.

Chris is definitely deserves more credit then he gets. He has kinda disappeared in the survivor shuffle. He is not the greatest winner in my opinion, but he is smart and is always thinking about what is best for him which is a great mentality for Survivor. It would be interesting to see him play again, but I think it would be hard for him. The players of today would be able to see through the BS I think.

I would say though, a lot of what he did was completely unnecessary. Like that Twila stuff . . he was immune. He didn't need to lie and piss her off.

i go back and forth on chris vs todd for greatest jury performance, but i usually settle on todd bc todd was able to win jr's vote and flip jamie's, whereas chris just solidified 4 votes that wanted to go for him the whole time but were pissed and only truly won leann over simply by being that good at bs (like she said he played so well aka he was good at bs).

Chris is an interesting winner. I do think he was lucky that there wasn't one more younger guy on his starting tribe, and he also got lucky that the women's alliance imploded. I think his Final Tribal Council is a little overrated, since it was basically impossible to lose to Twila. I also think blindsiding Julie and Eliza was objectively bad gameplay. But I have to give him credit for taking advantage of his opportunities.

As a woman, even his objectively villain moments come of as rational, likeable, and not [all that] sexist even if they some people might think so (not saying the video was implying that, just anticipating perspectives.) He didn't come off as malicious or dismissive and had a very clear and accurate view of not just ladies but all the people around him; what they motivated by and how they thought. I feel like he must have had a lot of women around him growing up, probably like a lot of sisters, lol.

They needed Chris on Micronesia. Chris vs Parvati and the black widow brigade would have been more fun.

He may have said some baddish things along the way, but he was kinda right. Get to their heart and they'll think with their heart. What happened when his wife botched the immunity? They let him through tribal simply to make his wife feel better.... and then he ran away with it by totally bullshitting and pitting the woman against one another with any little crack he could find. He was last man standing against one of the most dominant womans alliances in the shows history and he managed to keep his temper in check, take things in stride, pull some heartstrings and bullshit his way to his well deserved win.
