Saw this last night. Very exciting. Lots of action, car chases, murder, back-stabbing, double dealing, you name it, it was jammed packed. And for 20 million bucks to make, it better be a best seller.

It was terrible. Very trite. Characters were one dimensional. All action was unbelievable. Dialogue, especially at the beginning, was laughable. I didn't read the novel but my wide did. She explained how the movie ruined it.

Errm. It actually cost $200 million dollars to make! Crazy. I think that’s why it’s partially causing so much division between movie fans. That’s a lotta cash. Cue Netflix subscriptions going up by 30% 😂. Glad you enjoyed it though. Gonna sit down with a beer this weekend and see what it’s like 👍🏻

Totally concur it was awful Chris evans character was ridiculous. Despite all the action scenes it was unbelievably boring.

Honestly, I think they did a great job with. And it was not out of character with the storyline from start to finish. Meaning, "random" magical arrivals and random acquiring of information was not in the movie. They all referenced logical pathways to how the entire story transpired. Really well done.

It was great fun. It’s a light funny action movie (and John wick wasn’t my thing). Loved the dialog, and Chris Evans as mustach twirling villain was priceless-if you want character depth, don’t watch an action movie.

Looks good. What worries me though is the production team behind this. I think it’s gonna be non stop CGI. The other day I watched the first Bourne film. Realized what I missed in modern action films nowadays. 😂

@@interdimensionalsteve8172 Yep but that's a Marvel film. It kind of fits. This is a spy/espionage type film and I always think overblown CGI just doesn't fit. Seen atomic blonde? That's a great movie. Not just because of the story but also because so much of it is real. Anyway, I'll reserve judgement until release. Fingers crossed its not one exploding building after another. Lol.

I still can't figure out, how movies made 20 years ago have way better CGI than a lot of today's movies? How in the hell does that happen. It's like saying that twenty years ago they had better and faster internet service.

Having read the books, my only concern is that they haven’t actually given The Grey Man character more than half the bad assery vibe in this movie that he’s actually due! 😆😆😆

just finished watching this movie and i thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Outstanding action, great fight and gunfights of various kinds, crisp (and at times displaying a dry humor) and believable dialog...interesting story with plenty of twists and turns!! Throw in some very unsavory characters and you have a first rate action movie!! Whats more....the ending seems to hint that there could be a part two!! Ryan Gosling is great in this movie! Very believable and yet....displaying a kind of humility about his character!!! The key "bad guy" in the movie ( i don't know his name)...almost steals the show ,so to speak!! he's ruthless, skilled, competent.evil..yet possessing an effortless dry humor about him!!! In conclusion............first rate thriller to be sure!!

A $200 million movie just to be watch on tv at home and smartphone screen. You will never get the cinematic experience you got from theaters like Inception and Tenet, James Bond series, Jason Bourne saga, Mission: Impossible series,or John Wick universe.

Well, the book was written by Mark Greaney in 2009. It was a huge success and influenced a lot of other movies. Note that Mark Greaney also wrote 7 of the last Tom Clancy books.

@@BottegaVendetta This movie is based on the first of 11 books. The author, Mark Greaney, also co-authored books with Tom Clancy and Rip Rawlings. He literally finished the last 3 Tom Clancy novels after Tom Clancy's death and wrote 4 more Tom Clancy based books. However, The Gray Man series of books is rather different from the typical Tom Clancy spy novels. They are more action-packed, violent and political. They are about a former CIA operator, Courtland Gentry, that became an assassin for hire after the CIA tried to assassinate him. The first book came out in 2009 and influenced a number of other writers. The book is a mix between fiction and the real world. In the real world, shit happens.

I was very excited about this movie now I hope I'm wrong with what I feel it will be. I'm a huge "6" fan and honestly I don't think they cast him correctly at all. The gray man is supposed to be you know "GRAY" he can slip in and out of any situation, and Ryan Gosling is not that (the goatee is just bad) I just hope they don't butcher the story, out of all the books this book was the best.Talk about Bad Ass! only one I think who could take 6 out would be Orphan X :)

I just hope they dont mess this up like they messed up Mitch Rapp in American Assassin. Courtland Gentry is such a complex character and that's why its more thrilling when he goes on the offensive. But here, again, they are only focussing on what they think that people will like, i.e. action. Fingers crossed!
