this is a review and discussion on my GBH910 backhoe attachment on the back of my 2018 new holland boomer 24.

I seem to watch a lot of compact and subcompact tractor videos and reviews. Your thoughts on the backhoe was one of the best I have seen and I totally agree with you. Backhoe attachments are not mini excavators. The price you pay for backhoe is ultimately convenience. Very hard to put a price on convenience! However your example of the 1000ft trench was perfect. In one hit, not the ideal machine but an hour or so each night after work totally plausible. (Probably relaxing after work too!) And finally with some of your other examples of use I would add: Backhoe sure beats a shovel every time!

its great for light duty stuff, just make sure when you add a hoe to your tractor, it is ready to accept it, you can break your tractor in two at the bell housing if its not ready. Personally, i tracked down an old case 580 commercial hoe with extandahoe and would do it again. Best thing out there and only 5k. The project I have done are ridiculous, draining a 3 acre swamp into usable land with a 7 foot deep 300 yard ditch that can be mowed down to the bottom, raking rocks from a creek side and bed to make a 4 foot tall 12 foot wide 150 yard long dam.

Just bought the same sized tractor, but passed on the backhoe. Was cheaper to just buy one of those Chinese mini-excavators. Good luck!

I have a boomer 24 with the backhoe amazed how much work it wil do been pulling stumps and digging drainage ditches

My tractor is a New Holland boomer 24 but knowing LS mfg this and other tractors for New Holland I saved a bunch of money buying LS attachments , like my 5 ' tiller thru New Holland was 3200.00 thru LS it was 1400.00. I bought the tractor with a 72 ' belly mower thru New Holland 3200.00 thru LS it would of been 1200.00.

Look into mini excavators to peice compare, these backhoes are expensive, if you can get a excavator within 5k I'd shoot for the mini ex, if not these are fine and work good enough

Don't worry about the seat Machinery like yours holds its value because of its functionality, not so much what it looks like

@@townsendliving9750 Your new Holland tractor can get beat up and old and as long as it works as it should it doesn’t matter about things like the seat being torn or the metal body being dented up. It will still sell for just about 100% of what you paid for it If you end up selling it down the road or upgrading
