@Vikingr4Jesus59193 жыл бұрын
Don't forget he's a Captain facing a Trooper - sure, an Elite trooper of sorts, but still towers over Wrecker by rank. I don't think Captain Rex is as hot-headed as Wrecker that he'd fight him head on, but he can definitely bring Wrecker down by his report as Captain if it came to it.
@needle4153 жыл бұрын
@@Vikingr4Jesus5919 true but they were just in a "fight" with Jesse and we know the bad batch don't really like to work with regs so I'm sure between wrecker and crosshair they would want to fight lol
@warhawk95663 жыл бұрын
@@Vikingr4Jesus5919 The problem is, while Rex is an officer, he's an officer of a different unit. He has no direct authority over Wrecker. Yes they're on a joint operation and yes Rex outranks him, but as is often the case of join operations, Rex can't actually order him around the same way Hunter can. He can write a report about wrecker but it's up to Wreckers officer (Hunter or any unseen superior above him) to actually determine whether Rex's recommended punishment is carried out. It would be like an army lieutenant giving orders to a marine, it doesn't really happen. This was all a really long winded way of saying, they're on more even terms than you think.
@Vikingr4Jesus59193 жыл бұрын
@@warhawk9566 A fair observation. I do wonder, how do you know an Army officer would not give orders to Marines? Just wondering. And then, I suppose it remains to be seen. We may never get to see such a scenario again where Cpt Rex is challenged by a guy from a different unit. But seeing as the "Bad Batch" Unit 99 is a rather unique one, it would be interesting to see which would stand stronger: The word of a Captain from the battle-hardened and later on even considered elite 501st Battalion (regulars) which has a Jedi General (Skywalker) against the word of a Sgt. from an elite though irregular unit which does not even have a proper Jedi General. I know many fans like irregular characters as they definitely add up to the story. But in strict military terms, the word of an experienced Captain with a Jedi General stands quite strong against a Sgt. of irregulars when you consider the military supporters they do/don't have - Jedi Generals, amount of men under their charge, overall battle reports, opinion from Republic officials and possibly Senators...yes, a lot to think about, and rather waste of time if you'd ask me. But I do think Captain Rex would come out stronger if it came to such a debate.

Poor Rex... he had such a legitimately strong belief in what he was doing and had zero clue that it was all for nothing the entire time until it was too late. All that fighting and sacrifice and his worst fear came true anyway... The sheer depression from that would absolutely crush me to dust. But even after all that Rex still found the resolve to fight against the Empire into his elderly age. Much like how Obi-Wan is an example of a pure Jedi, Rex is the perfect example of a pure warrior.
