Not really. Magneto, even as a villain, did what he did for what he believed was the benefit of mutant kind. He deeply cared for the mutants he recruited and hated fighting "one of his own" because, in his mind, humans were the real enemy. Meanwhile, Ebon only gives a damn about himself. Even before he had powers, all he wanted was to make it big in crime. Anyone he recruits are only there to help make his name known as someone to be feared. He wasn't even above framing his own brother (who was trying to change his ways). Without his powers or his crew, Ebon goes back to being what he fears most: a talentless nobody.

@@megamarsonic Very good points. For me that's where the comparisons stop. But I think like Magneto is portrayed a lot in movies, he's like the final boss of Static Shock. What makes him deadlier is like Magneto, his recruits are down for anything for his cause. I will still stand by my statement of a "street smart" version of him just because to strive in that environment not by leaving it, making it big by being a selfish snake is the way to go. Think about street gangs. They recruit people from broken homes and kids who just want to belong.(Pretty similar to the mutants in X-Men who's parents thought they were abominations or just weren't around that long before Xavier or Magneto approached them) The O.G's were just like them when they were kids so it's easy for them to use the recruits. I feel if Magneto's origin story involved him being from the streets, he would do many things Ebon did.

Well, he's not just a kid's show villain anymore.

Agreed. The first movie's post-credit scene can have Talon and Shiv watching footage of Static stopping the main villain of part 1. They begin talking about how Static could be a big problem if they don't eliminate him right away. Then you hear a voice from the shadows say "Now hold on. Maybe we can convince him to join us. Make the Meta-Breed stronger. We just have to make sure he sees things... our way." As soon as he finishes that sentence, two glowing, menacing white eyes open up in the shadows. Cut to black.

Just about anyone can become Uber level overpowered with such conditions. If you master everything, nothing about you is unique.
