Karbear, same here. Raised JW and planned my life, as a youth, around the WT interpretation of Jesus' prophecy. Oh, how sold I was on the "this generation" lie they told! I wasn't as smart, as a teen, as you were as a child!

Heres the thing. All you truly need is faith that through Jesus, the Lord has acomplished His promise of salvation in your life. Everything else you learn, learn it with this in mind and as your filter. Some things have multiple possible meanings, including historical things and prophesy. There appears to be a recurring theme of pattern in prophesy. Even the ancient traditions given to the Jews by God were meant to be heralds of what was to come (Jesus). It appears that there will be multiple fulfilments of prophesy that act as heralds of what will come. For example, the end of days will be like the days of Noah. It is all self reference all throghout the scripture, especially in prophesy. Like Jesus said, birth pains. They feel like you will give birth but then jts gone… then its back even worse then gone again, and each time it feels like its gonna be the final push, but its not. It is out calling as christians to first and foremost trust that salvation was achieved by Jesus and that God wants us to be saved, and secondly, to await and be vigilant because we dont know how or when it will happen. We have clues, but just as the jews expected their Messiah to be something entirely different than what he ended up being, so too must we be vigilant, by being faithful to the Lord. And how do we know God will save us? Imagine having a child you love with almost your heart. Every accomplishment is a celebration and disobedience is fruatrating and anger inducing. Now imagine that child’s life was in your hands. Would you want to save them even though they at times fail you? The lord loves us more because He is the full expression of love. In his rightful justice he deemed it fit to have mercy on us and postpone our judgement in order to give us an out and HAVE us. My friend, the Lord wants to have you with Him more than you could ever want to be with Him. You ARE SAVED. Trust this and ve vigilant not to fall to docrtines outside of Jesus. Remain faithful to Him so that He finds pleasure in you despite your flaws. Just as David was pleasent to the Lord even though God knew he would eventually fail. Be of the same heart as God and worry no more about things that you may not understand at the moment. Pray and God will give you more and more understanding, but align yourself to His will above all else.

LOL! I learned the hard way not to put my understanding of theology on men no matter how "good" they think they are or sound. These men like myself have little understanding of Gods revelations and even then we are so corrupt that we input our own thoughts or ideas in the teachings which leads people astray. I've learned that the Holy spirit will never lead me astray and he will teach you all things as it says in John 16:13. I pray in Jesus name you seek the Lord and ask him to reveal to you true understanding of his word. Bless you in Jesus name.

I feel the same. We know the most important thing. Be ready. Be saved and daily filled with the Spirit. I would be happy having Jeff as a pastor, even though I have difficulties with preterism. I'll keep studying as best I can, and I know that in time it will all be made clear.

I wouldn't let eschatology bother you too much. It is interesting, and it can effect the way you react to events... but overall, it's not a salvation issue. Eschatology is far less important than the doctrines of grace, that's for sure.

(Woops). Does not Jesus say when we see the signs to "look up, your redemption draws nigh ? Does the word not teach that we shall meet him in the air ?". @@brianallen2372It means for me as a 12-year-old, I got a revelation of Jesus Christ. Being saved is Christianese, obviously. But in retrospect, and hindsight being 20/20, God saved my butt from certain death many times. There have been a multitude of times I have cried out to Him, and I was "saved". But ultimately, the saved I'm referring to is being saved from the wrath of God and spending eternity with Him. When I was 12, God chose me for His purpose. I walked every day to church in the hot summer about 2 miles to hear His Word. But my brain became clouded due to so much untrue doctrine throughout my adult years. And no, my trials have not ended. I almost died in February this year. I struggle every day to provide for my family but I'm a doer of the Word...I work 3 jobs! And certainly, I find myself struggling with many different sins. Are you saying you don't? If you do, I will call you a liar! So being saved to me 45 years ago was answering the call of God on my life. Plain and simple! I can't tell if you are judging me or if you are simply curious about my faith! I hope it's the latter! Jesus also spoke of being "born again!"

He's just being consistent. He has always said that everyone needs a local congregation. The bible prescribes being part of a local congregation. You aren't able to fulfill things like gathering, church discipline, communion, etc without a local church. Now obviously, places that allow homosexuality and abortion aren't churches. Theyre social clubs who lie and say they are Christian. But I would be hesitant to call people heretical because they closed or wear masks. How has it passed? A generation in Jewish traditions is 70-80 years. 70+1948=2018. 80+1948=2028. So no it hasn’t passed yet.

@@mikeremington7063 It doesn't really matter anyway. What you are talking about futurism. Pastor Jeff talks about how Revelation is suppose to be viewed with partial Preterism. The "great tribulation" happened in the first century under Nero's rule and then God promises he will return to conquer death for all mankind in the last portions of Revelation. If you are hung up on futurism then you probably haven watched this series like I'm prompting you to do. It doesn't make anyone less of a Christian if you believe future of past tribulation. This is more about having a bulletproof theology in the Bible when applying "end time" interpretation.

Some food for though. In Jesus parable of the wheat and the tares, it is the tares that are taken first. The wheat is left. Matt 13:24-33 The wheat represents the believers. The tares represent the ungodly. Both are allowed to grow together and then the tares (ungodly) are taken and thrown into the fire while the wheat (believers) are left.

The Tribulation is not the judgement, but the threshing that sorts wheat from chaff and tares. Noah went through the flood and was kept from harm because of his obedience, he suffered some but not like the world.

Being caught up with Him in the air is not to escape hardship. It is to escape God's judgement against Israel (Jacobs Trouble) and the nations.

The phrase "...shall be offended..." in Greek is: skandalizo. It means (per Strong's) to entrap (trip up, stumble, entice to sin, apostasy, make to offend).

I completely agree! But in a recent video he talks about the first parts in Revelations and builds a case around why this happened in first century Christianity. John in Rev. writes, 1:3 “time is near” 1:7 “look he is coming on a cloud, and every eye will see him those WHO PIERCED HIM” these are keys that supports Pastor Jeff’s view that Jesus came in first century and not in a secret rapture. It’s a compelling argument. I’ve change my eschatology because of the 13 part series. Listen to the case Pastor makes and then hopefully God will lead you and many others to understanding.

There is a 3.5 year one that "coincidentally" lasted exactly the amount of time the Romans besieged Jerusalem before they destroyed the temple. Jesus preached the inauguration of the Kingdom. It has been in progress for 2000 years.

Did the disciples disobey Jesus? John was stuck on an island was he not...? Jesus clearly stated after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darken and the moon not give it's light along with 1/3 the stars removed from the heavens.
