My favourite stories are the ones I need to read/watch/listen to multiple times before I can fully appreciate them. This episode of Wizarding War falls into that category. When you experience a work of art for the first time, your two priorities are: 1) to figure out what is actually happening and 2) to enjoy the content for what it is. At first, some things in this episode were a bit confusing to me, especially during the Death Eater's raid in which everything happens a little too rapidly, which was frustrating; but eventually I figured it out. Only afterwards can the brain start to interpret the work of art; the experiencing self is shut off and the narrating self flips on. So when you go back to it, your perception and appreciation of the story changes based on your interpretation. Plus, you can sit back and enjoy the story more, now that you're familiar with the plot structure. Especially the scenes with Sirius, Lupin and Lily were much more enjoyable the second time. My favourite scene, though, is when James arrives home. Beau and Francene deliver incredible performances as James' parents (Beau is my favourite actor on the show anyway). This scene makes it so clear why Snape feels so much resentment towards James. Snape never received the love and care of his parents that James takes for granted. Snape always had to figure things out for himself and find the right path through life experience, as opposed to receiving simple answers about how the world works from others. The only person who ever cared for Snape was Lily, and James took her away from him. Now that James' parents are dying, he will finally learn what it is like to lose something. A powerful pay-off to Snape's speech in Severus Snape and the Marauders, as well as clever foreshadowing of a future confrontation between James and Snape.

In this episode Snape has used the Vulnera Sanentur counter curse to heal Remus and had he not done so Remus would have died. Lily is sore with James for instigating the fight with Snape. James comes home and there is a Death Eater raid simply to steal a plant. In the end Sirius is about to transform to a werewolf. They're in the city. This could end badly.

Remus stood with his friends but never actively participated in James’s and Sirius’ bullying of Snape growing up. Snape undid the injury and, years later, made Remus’ wolfsbane potion perfectly for a whole year. After everything, neither liked nor disliked each other.
