The movie is set right after WW2 - Michael is still wearing his uniform - so it starts around 1946.

I’m a godfather. For Catholics, A godfather and godmother is someone you bring to the baptism of your children and ask them to entrust to help raise your children in the Christian religion and guide in their spiritual guidance in case anything happens to you. So its a big ask to ask someone to be the godfather to your children, and for the godfather, it’s an honor to be asked, because the other person thinks you are worthy person who is wise. This is the original meaning of godfather.

The guy at the hospital was Enzo, the baker. He was the Italian POW that the Don arranged to stay in the US at the end of WW2. He paid his debt to the Don that night.

Woltz is not based on Disney; the film he is making that Johnny (the singer) wants to be cast in is a war film. The situation is very, very loosely based on directors of dramas like William Wyler who made “From Here to Eternity” (a film about the bombing of Pearl Harbor) and he cast singer Frank Sinatra. In the late 1940’s, Disney was only making animation.

Yeah, until the 1980s (late 70s in some places), every major city had at least one morning paper and at least one evening paper. Some papers had both morning and evening editions. The deadline for printing the evening paper was like 1:30 or 2 o'clock, but for big news they could hold on a bit longer to get the story out, or they could run a third, special or extra edition. By the early 90s, evening papers had all but disappeared.

Just found your channel, great reaction! Yeah, definitely check out the second one. The third one sucks, you should watch all the great movies all the people IN the Godfather went on to make throughout the 70s (and afterwards). This movie gave so many people their start, and they all went on to do amazing stuff. The director, Coppolla, did masterpiece movies like "Apocalypse Now" (incredible war movie, one of the best) and "The Conversation" (wild mystery crime film) and wrote "Patton" (another really great war movie). Pacino and the guy who plays Fredo, they did a fantastic, iconic true crime masterpiece called "Dog Day Afternoon" right after they did Godfather Part 2 so that's definitely one to see after you hit Godfather Part 2, just to see how they followed it up with something so different and still incredible. So don't worry about the lame third one, but definitely watch the second one.

'Godfather: Don's Edition' for PS3 is really good. I played the hell out of it. There used to be DLC for sale, including a weapons package that upgrades the Level 3 firearms to Level 4, plus the ability to throw bottles, which I always found amusing, because there's no range limit. One of my favorite things to do is to bust out the window of a hotel room and rain down bottles on the passers-by, as much as a block away. As as far as movies you should react to, you named several that are already on your list.For sure, continue on to 'Godfather 2.' 'The Green Mile' is a must-watch. If you want comedies, try 'Uncle Buck' or 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles.' For spooky films, I recommend the cult classics 'Tremors' and 'Pumpkinhead.'

The Last Samurai, Gladiator (with Russell Crowe, there is another movie of the same name - terrible), The Mission Impossible Movies, Alien, Aliens, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, I could go on. Great reaction. Good job.

The Mafia in NYC caused problems in production that the film had to negotiate, never call anything "mafia", pay the Italian-American Civil Rights League about a million dollars (Founded by Mafia Don Columbo) and employed a mafia body guard as Luca. Extras included several mafia soldiers and Carlo was played by a guy who was connected in some way and in interviews claims to have had connections to a list of famous people and events that puts the ones in Forrest Gump to shame.

The name Apollonia was also used in Prince's movie Purple Rain (1984). In Purple Rain, Apollonia is Prince's love interest. I think that the actress, Patricia Kotero, actually changed her name to Apollonia. (She had a killer figure. Probably still does.) If you haven't seen the movie, I suggest it as one you might want to put on your channel.

@Bxnd1tCinema Brando won another Oscar for the film On the Waterfront (1954), a film about mob corruption on the docks of New Jersey. His first legendary performance was for A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), which made his reputation as the greatest young actor in America. He helped pioneer the acting technique called The Method. DeNiro, Pacino, James Dean are some of the other famous students of the Method.

@Bxnd1tCinema One treat of Part 2 is that Al Pacino's acting teacher, who taught him the method is in the film. Lee Strasberg, the creator of the famous Strasberg acting school, had never performed in a film before, and was never interested. His student Pacino begged him, if he could be in the film as a favor to him. Well, that was an offer the great teacher couldn't refuse, and he decided to play a key character in Part 2, alongside his student.

Maybe comment about that... when michael is questioning carlo he uses a method commonly refer to as ' good cop bad cop' meanwhile half his face is in the dark. The other in the light... despite that we can see in his left eye that he just cant wait to kill this man who had his brother set up.
