The team this man captained won the treble, the greatest achievement in English premiership history. The Irish team that had no business being in the World Cup in 2002 beat out Netherlands and Portugal to Qualify, God only knows what they would've done with him in the team during the tournament. At his peak all things considered, I think that no one has been his equal as a complete player. On and off the pitch the game is played in all facets of life. Forest fan here, the clips do not do his time with us justice. An absolute engine, who was used as a right and left winger, right back, even central defence and of course the finest box to box midfielder i've ever seen at the City Ground. That horrible last year of Cloughie and our relegation, he was the only one who gave absolutely everything, and i mean everything. A lot of our fanbase will never forgive him for the badge kissing though, but we all knew he was too good at that point to not end up at a club winning league titles. A machine. An extinct breed in todays game.
