"I am the cause and creator of everything I experience in my life, Everyone I contact with comes away from me feeling better, every endeavor I undertake blossoms into full fruition beyond even my imagination, everything I touch turns to gold, and my love and regard for myself and others only ever increases." I love to listen to your discourse, Ma - it is nourishment to me.

This type of knowledge enhances self-confidence. Academic knowledge is only not enough to succeed in life. Just as we go to the gym and do yoga for a healthy body in the same way we need to listen and read topic like the power of positive thinking to keep our mind healthy. Thanks!

There has been no shortage of great people and geniuses who were quite unhappy. And they used their unhappiness as a catalyst or fodder for (among other things) great works of art. I would say that emotions/thoughts in themselves are neither good nor bad; it depends on what you do with them, to what use you put them. I don't know about happiness or unhappiness, except as happy and unhappy moments. I think it may be more useful to think in terms of a meaningful and rich life which is productive and creative. The real question is: can you be creative whatever you feel and whatever life brings you? Incidentally, I wonder to what extent monks and nuns simply follow tradition and to what extent they themselves are creative. When was the last time you saw a monk or nun who had the creative mind of a Shakespeare or who made a groundbreaking discovery comparable to an Einstein? One thing I've noticed about many nuns and monks who offer talks is how similar they sound; they almost never say or offer anything new, even though I'm sure most of them are in earnest and good people. For all the talk of attaining to the "Ultimate" or being self-realized, I seldom, if ever, hear any groundbreaking or original ideas expressed. I would assume that if one were meditating deeply, or approaching self-realization (however you wish to put it), new ideas and concepts would be flowing abundantly. But, alas, what I hear from these monks and nuns, these meditators, is just traditional or conventional concepts that have been passed down.

Some things from imagination come true some don't so you can't say it is an exact science for ordinary people. Can you convince your body with positive thoughts that eating lots of sweets is good for your health? What is the value of being ok with a bad situation compared to being in a good situation and being naturally happy instead of tricking yourself when actually drowning.
