Jeffry McWild, a humble fisherman, and his eternal battle against his nemesis the Satan Shark! Along the way the Illuminati get involved and its all downhill from there. Hey today we are here with I guess you could call an April Fools video? I always wanted to tell the story of Jeffry McWild and the Satan Shark, it was in fact the inspiration for the entire lore series I have done so far to date, yet was always a bit too silly to be its own video UNTIL NOW! So apologies if you got riled up at the comparisons at the start but I just have to let you know how much more interesting and nuanced the Satan Shark storyline is compared to other games, its just superior in the end! Enjoy!

Did you know? Jeffry's fighting style, Pankration, actually comes from the Greek terms "Pan," meaning "All," and "Kration," meaning "Those times the Satan Shark destroyed my boat filling me with glorious rage."

I've been waiting for this story ever since you started the Ridiculous History of Fighting Game characters, and at last we got it! Thank you for sharing with us this wonderful story! I never knew VF had an anime. I especially loved when Jeffery said: "Murders! You can only take on humans. I will show you the true strength of a man... The power of a man who challenges the Satan Shark and the great wilderness!"

Revisiting this video after watching the Hornet one, a few things came into my mind: -It’s a crime this video only has 11k views, it needs 1M views at least. -The Bryants are kinda useless, and Kage Maru is apparently the greatest fighting character ever, I don’t think even Ryu, Terry or Jin has won so many of their tournaments on their respective franchises in game. -The only reason we need VF6 is to continue the tale of the Satan Shark.

Ah my 2nd fav. character of VF (he became 2nd after Vanessa Lewis). Whenever I couldn't get to 1st place in Daytona USA, I used to love making the Jeffry statue dance in there. It soften the blow of me losing so many times cuz of the Saturn version's horrible drawn distance.

Since April fools is my birthday every year I look forward to the video to come out on KZfaq. I can say this is a definitive number three best video to ever come out. Right under the project m turbo edition announcement. The story made me laugh, scream and cry. Shakespeare has been real quiet since the story came out. It’s because he knows no other story could ever compare to this masterpiece.

Sounds pretty one note for a rivalry. Now Paul Pheonix Vs. Kuma, that is the definitive Man vs. Beast story. Nobody in the world of VF cares is Jeffery beats the Shark except Jeffery but a lot of people don't want Paul to beat Kuma in Tekken's world.

This must have taken a lot of time and work to put together, greatly appreciated (much love sir, MUCH LOVE) Old man and the sea indeed Thank you for making a video for VF (still my favorite 3D fighting game series of all time). I too hope that we will one day get a VF6 (I do understand that Sega had taken the Paul Mason stance and NOT releasing any game before it's time).

Dude. I used to play VF. Like all the time. I owned a Sega Saturn and VF2 was the pack in game. Played Fighters MegaMix, VF Remix too, Jeffery was my first main, until I discovered Lion and Kage, and I have NEVER EVER heard, ANY OF THIS! SATAN SHARK!?! What?!!!? I'm here listening to this like dude, why was this not front and center on the arcade screen before you put on your quarter. Forget the intro trailer, just show Jeffrey and the shark duking it out, make sure the "Satan Shark" is on screen someplace and just give lil snippets of the Backstory. I guarantee Virtua Fighter would then be remembered even more fondly, it would be in the same conversation as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, as the Granddaddy of all 3d fighters, which it is, but I feel like it's spot has been usurped by Tekken. People don't give Virtua Fighter it's due in this day and age. But if this Backstory was showcased, people would crowd the machines just to read it or see the whole battle with the shark.

@@rooflemonger AAAARRRRGGGGHHH! How many times back in the day was THAT the case!? Either the manual, comics, or at times even like a game magazine held the story that is NOWHERE in game. You boot up the game and it's like, "Hey whoa! We started?! What this now?! Who are these dudes and why I gotta kill em? WHY ARE THEY KILLING ME!!? What's going on!!?" It's like developers had to choose, "Do we put in more Game and characters, or this awesome Backstory we came up with for everybody?" "Game, definitely. We can put the story in the manual and flesh it out in Nintendo Power. They don't need to know why they're doing what they're doing."😂 I know it's not quite that simple, just having a laugh.

Most australian chars in games also are the stereotype of being a criminal(Kano, Junkrat), Jeffry is a good family man so he breaks that mold.

@@rooflemonger Haha very true. Although Kano gets a lot of props over here for how blatantly Aussie he is. Raiden (or "The Thunder from Down Under" as my friends and I call him) is certainly a close 2nd. Love your videos by the way, top-shelf stuff!
