Hi there, I fed the fish with duckweed and azolla only and turned out the fish grow normal, but the thing is not all fishes are grow big equally because I was not enough giving the feed for them. So azolla and duckweed actually can make herbivore fish ( fish that can only eat veggie) grow normal, as long as we give them enough amount for all the fish. The percentage estimation is about giving 20 gram azolla or duckweed to 60 gram weight fish.

@@olyvia1380 bs, it needs a source of nitrogen, unlike azola that lives in association with algae duckweed need water rich in nurtients, that's why it's usually used to clean water from ammonia and nitrate

@@zazugee if your tank/pond is cycled, you don’t need to add anything. that’s what they asked. i’ve grown duckweed in half an inch of regular tap water in a tupperware container with low light. it doubled in size in like a week and a half.

@@zazugee I once tried. It doesn't do well with ammoniacal sources of nitrogen. Nitrate is better. I am yet to see good success in growing duckweed. Hopefully one day

40% growth for 5 days is 1.4^5 = 5.37. it basically grew 5x the amount. you can harvest as much as you want lol

@@michaelmo267 I'm not a duckweed expert haha I just did the math from the information in the video :) I'm growing a bit in my aquarium to keep water clean, so I was curious and watched bunch of duckweed videos. but I have no knowledge beyond that.

Fertilizer, poop, urine, compost, etc. In the wild, it grows most abundantly in still ponds and lakes that receive a lot of agricultural run off. If it grows too much, it can pull too much oxygen from the water though. It needs nitrogen, ammonia, and phosphorus mainly. I will be growing some inside for human consumption, and I plan to use my own urine primarily to feed it.

All depends on the amount of surface area.

We can consume two kinds of duckweed, but the giant duckweed variety is not known yet to be edible or not. Some varieties can have a lot of calcium oxalate in it, which you have to be careful, but that all depends on what is going into the water as well. Don't much a lot of calcium in the water and that will cut down on it.

You have chicken running around on your front yard, feed them like a pet, but when the time comes they can be eaten. Same with fish, when theyre alive we take care of them like a pet but when theyre big enough they'll be harvested. Pretty common on the countryside
