The Grucifixion (2021) is a movie about a man’s descent into the 5 stages of grief, attention-seeking and insanity. The protagonist of the movie, Isaac H.P, is a man with a split personality after being deprived of his social media career by recycling the same joke. This effected him to the effect of interviewing himself during his stage of grief. The line, “No one hates me” is a prefect depiction of his denial stage, with him believing there aren’t people who dislike his persona and identity. His descent into anger is shown before his denial with him refusing the stealing of his identity with him inflicting pain on to another minion-face. This can be symbolic of his self hatred and his mental state. The bargaining stage came before all of these, however, when he met imalexx and pleaded for a collaboration. In this scene, Alex depicts society, and their hatred towards Isaac whilst Isaac pleads for another chance. He understands the truth but fails to accept it. This stage of bargaining evolves into him depicting himself as happy with a family, but as the line ‘dropping my ego’ occurs, he drops his child and is returned to sorrow and eventually reality. The same reality gives birth to Isaac’s terminal depression, in which he attempts to overcome this by not moving forward in optimism, but in nihilism and surrounded by his dead and fallen dreams ( like himself). He marches onwards with a clock ticking in the form of a song as he shows caveman like tendencies and willingly crucifies himself. This is symbolic at both the Religious and Scientific origins of man and Isaac displaying both as chooses Religion, which non-believers say to be fiction. Isaac’s former sane self says goodbye to his new self as the past version of him appears in a comedic state as he is left on a cross to suffer alone. Ultimately, Isaac is rejected by both society and himself, and can only find comfort with ending himself rather than seeking help from others. This tragic story retells the after effects of grief and a man’s mental deterioration whilst appearing as a comedian. “How close to insanity are we willing to go to reach fame” -Charlie Curtis

Guys I've watched this video a few times now and I think I finally understand what its about. I think it raises the question of how close to insanity are we willing to go to reach fame. Allusions to insanity are made throughout the video, from the reference to the joker movie at the start, to the dream-like sequences in the middle to the characters that appear and disappear from thin air throughout the entire film. The theme of sacrifice only becomes apparent in the final sequence I believe. Isaac wakes in a forest with minions hanging from trees and a crucifix/grucifix nearby. The grucifix is important as it represents how Jesus sacrificed himself for the sins of humanity. Here so has Isaac sacrificed his own sanity for the sake of fame, and it is the pressure and fear of 'falling off' that has taken its toll. This is also the only point in the film where there are no 'real' characters other than Isaac himself. This represents Isaacs final descent into insanity, to a point beyond where people can reach him. The film ends with his own son telling him he has fallen off and an Isaac in no minion face telling him goodbye and running down the hill half naked. Isaacs son is a dual representation of all that is both good and bad about Isaac - a reminder of the time when he felt happiest, and one of when he felt saddest. It is a part of him, and the fact it is this character that tells Isaac he fell off shows the fractured nature of Isaacs mental state. The Isaac in no minion face is the final sane part of Isaac that is left and his departure marks the arrival of total insanity for Isaac.

Just finished rewatching the grucifixion and even 6 months on from my first watch I still feel that understanding and truly mesmerising sensation of the emotions that this short film can deliver to all. The film being called the ‘grucifixion’ is a reference to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The short film can help deliver such a powerful and overwhelming message that can truly touch hearts just like many may feel when referring to the crucifixion as a tragedy but a miracle at the same time. This unusual mix of emotions helps really portray the main protagonist (isaac hp) and his story. He is often in denial and disbelief as if he can’t truly express his feelings or emotions and that makes this film a tragedy at the beginning until he confesses the truth and his true love for the Minion species, this beautiful, touching gesture and reference helps to show the miraculous turn out of the film although it originally seems a tradgedy. He has used many different cinematic and narrative techniques used by some of the greats of English literature and poetry. This film helps us understand his feelings throughout modern day society and allows us to feel as if we are in his shoes. Isaac lives in a world of unlimited possibilities and in a fast moving advanced society this film helps carefully and beautiful explain how not everyone is as they seem on the outside. Isaac uses lots of comedy but hides it in and displays no reaction to any of his sarcasm or jokes. This allows us to feel as if we are playing a part in this short film and it allows everyone to interpret it in different ways. This is a beautiful thing to do from Isaac and it makes a film become a masterpiece as it means different people view it different ways just like Isaac lives life different to others in this film. Finally I believe that rewatching this was perfect as the new minions releases later this week. This story of isaacs life will truly enrich my viewing of the rise of gru film as it can really focus on the tragic events and the cruelty that life can sometimes hold rather than the happiness and silliness that a minions film can often express. I believe this is the greatest piece of cinematography of all time as every word can inspire and can wondered upon. It helps many people from all shapes of life to all enjoy the same brilliant story. Thank you for putting this masterpiece together Isaac

Isaac H.P’s dramatic short film “The Grucifixion” may seem heavily inspired by the 2019 CBM “Joker,” but as you dive deeper into the dialogue and cinematography, an idea emerges inside of you that may be similar to what Isaac imagined before bringing the film to life - a modern twist on a classic tragedy.

@@ibbo1543 First, be smart from the very beginning. Pulverize all teeth, burn off fingerprints, and disfigure the face. Forcing a DNA test to establish identity (if it ever comes to that) might introduce the legal/forensic hurdle that saves your ass down the line. An unidentifiable body can, in a pinch, be dressed in thrift store clothes and dropped in a bad part of town where the police are less likely to question it. I don't recommend that disposal method, I'm just saying an easily identifiable body is an even bigger threat than the opposite. Assuming you have it inside a house where you can work on it a bit, the first thing you want to do is drain it of fluids. This will make it easier to cut up, and slow decomposition a little bit. The best way to do this quick and dirty is to perforate the body with a pointed knife and then perform CPR on it. Cut the fronts of the thighs deep & diagonally to slit the femoral arteries. Then pump the chest. The valves in the heart will still work when dead, and the springback of the ribcage can put apply a fair amount of suction to the artria. Do this in a tub. Plug the drain, and mingle lots of bleach with the bodily fluids before unplugging the drain to empty the tub. This should help control the stench of death, which would otherwise reek from your gutter gratings. Shave it's head and flush hair down multiple drains as this will give you more time as forensics will be chasing down multiple pipes for DNA evidence. You will want to take a pair of garden sheers and cut off all fingers and toes. Take a filet knife and cut off the ears, and nose if it is pierced, and cut out the gums to remove the teeth. Make sure to dig in deep with a screwdriver or putty knife to get the roots out. Use your knife to remove any patches of skin with birthmarks or tattoo. Don't be afraid, you can slice through the most weathered skin

Despite being a 12 minute video on "grutube" this is better than most films, and it's actually quite sad, quite touching as well, people say it depicts grief, which it does depict it in some way In my opinion, it depicts humanities insecurities and emotions and thoughts, he goes through self torture in the form of succumbing to what he thinks people want him to be, despite being a film that probably isn't actually real, it does a great job at showing what our society today has changed in our thinking, if you have a different opinion I would love to hear it

That was incredible. You can say if it wasn't minion themed then it could be oscar worthy or something but I wouldn't take anything away from it. We may be reading into it too deeply but that was so good and the subject doesn't matter because the story is still there. The cinematography and the score were amazing too. I hope you do more but I'm sure most would be fine with just having this.

Isaac, I am stunned for words, beautiful storytelling, you really picked out every aspect of minion mans feeble, but complex life. Showing his true colours and how the man of minions feels in his heart. It shows his remorse and sense of emotion for playing his part in the untimely death of his one and only son with his minion wife, or so he thinks. An excellent portrayal of a man driven to madness by his own fantasies. Another factor to minion mans demise is how he was treated by the public and ridiculed several times. My perception of this masterpiece is that Isaac has the feeling he has angered Gru by not being the best he can be so ultimately ties himself to the minion cross, as a desperate last-dash attempt to save minion kind from Grus evil wrath.

This made me genuinely sad. It reminds me of being in the tall, wavy grass near the beach on vacation with my family. Seeing somebody carry a cross, alone, through my memory made me realize that I’m closer to the moment where I must do the same than the moment I made the memory. I think that’s in large part because I’m a nostalgic person and it’s night time, but the music and visuals are nothing to scoff at. Quite impressive stuff coming from a minion video

I feel like its his childhood manifested in a person, one that cant act according to soceitys norms and for other peoples wellbeing. Neither handle responsibilty. He slowly goes insane bc of lack of meaningful human interaction. Even tho all he wanted to do was to make ppl happy and laugh. He imagines the little fame he gained as a tiktoker as him being a world class celeberity. This doesnt help at all. He then goes fully mad but in a last atempt to make somone, atleast somone laugh. The childhood dies with the last joke the grucifixion. This soo deserving of an oscar. Ive only barely watched it once and theres soo much hideen beneath the surface. soo lets disscus more down below.

No one can pick their father, but everyone can pick their religion. The Grucifixion tries to untangle questions of faith and identity. The protagonist is obsessed with Minions, the goal of a Minion is to serve a chosen master, it seems that the protagonist has become a servant to his own masters, ironically the Minions. In this twisted ouroboros the protagonist finds himself being eaten by isolation and delusion. Like all of us, we are faced with choices in our actions, do we choose to abandon our faiths in hope of a better future,? or do we stubbornly double down, continuing to serve, the question becomes for our protagonist, what would a Minion do? A Minion would follow his master, a Minion would serve. But how do you serve a master who’s own desire is also to serve? Our protagonist finds himself breaking out of the belly of the snake, he becomes a symbol, he stands on it’s flayed corpse in traditional Christian symbolism, a sacrifice, if one cannot serve a master whose own goal is to serve other masters; then one can only serve themselves, and everyone must atone for their own sins.
