Man this GPU was an absolute monstrosity when it came out....I had a GIGABYTE GTX 680 with 2GB of VRAM and I enjoyed the heck out of it for a while back in the day!

I remember I didnt enjoy my GTX 770 with only 768 Mb ram due to stuttering in CoD Black ops if I remember correctly. Might have been the combo with the 1055t though. I traded that computer for an iPad 2 six months later. Best trade I have ever done because that iPad lived and was used for 10 years!

@@OlaJustinYeah, iPad 2 was such a great piece of tech that Apple themselves hated it, because no one wanted to upgrade to newer models until they stopped supporting the 2nd in terms of firmware. 😂 They will never make this "mistake" again...

I had an overclocked 670 which was almost as quick as a 680. That was an absolute beast. Kept me going for many years. Outside of the 9800pro probably the best card I ever had.

Man you got the big 3 slot version. Now that was a big ghungus. I owned the Gigabyte GTX 680 Super Overclock besides it being big, it had 5 fans , I think 40mm, it was loud as hell.

Hi Kryzzp, nice benchmark as always. I would never have believed that the gtx 680 has such good performance considering its age. I have a question outside of graphics cards. I'm currently looking for new headphones and I noticed you've had new headphones for a while now. I think they are Meze 99 Classics. Correct me if they're not. from 2011 to 2015 I love these legendary DirectCU2 cooler design that is so beefy from Asus, what a beast. Rivalling MSI's TwinFrozr "silver, futuristic" looking cooler and Gigabyte's military themed Windforce.

Never owned the 680 but I did have a 690 once it became cheap and since SLI didn’t work in all games it basically was a fancy 680 in non SLI games. When SLI worked it was pretty powerful even when I got it when it was already at the end of being supported.

I used a 770 (same gpu) for quite a while! Was a good card, finally sold it to upgrade to an rx480 a few years back and then went straight to the 1080ti I'm using now

I had the EVGA blower variant with 4GB's of VRAM. I paired it with a i7 3770K Ivy Bridge. It was good till 2016. I them moved to to a Strix GTX 1080ti. I got my money's worth on that platform. Rocking a R9 5950x and RTX 4090 now. Love it very much. This was a great video that took me down memory lane. Thank you Kryzzp! I loved the video.

I had the Leadtek 4gb version which I bought in early 2013 and paid $600 aud. This was the best gpu I'd ever had to that time and wow what a beast it was back then. I ended up replacing it in early 2017 with the 1060 6gb.

I picked up one for $10 last month, EVGA 2GB Signature. It's a great back up card and way better than having nothing, it also supports up to 4 monitors, so it's worth it just for that reason.

500 and 600 series and their model names are still haunting me to this day. Asus gtx 660 directCU TOP OC edition extreme ultra wow. Alo a minor addition can be made on gpu benchmarks. As i am also playing gta online sometimes the FPS in singleplayer and online with full lobbies can vary a lot. Maybe you can add add it as an extra layer to gta v benchmark.

When i built my first serious pc i had 680 in it. Exactly the asus directcu II. I had never seen bigger gpu in my life and had to actually buy new case because it didnt fit in the first one :D. Great card, ran skyrim like butter back in the days.

I maintain that the Kepler architecture was one of Nvidias best releases, not in pure power but in longevity, I had a 760gtx and that thing lasted me right up until two years ago and I was perfectly happy with it.

please dont express 11 years as a long time :( Now I feel old. My first ever dedicated 3D graphics card was an elephant 3DFX card beside my Ati which had extra ram sockets on it. I loved the "Click" when you started a supported game.

Hey! So you know, Elden Ring can work on older GPUs without DirectX Feature level 12_0; there is a DX12 to DX11 compatibility layer you can find online that makes Elden Ring work on older GPUs. I used it to play Elden Ring with a GTX 960M which only has DirectX 11_0 feature level.

man i love that you have tested old gpus in 2023 it really humbled me cause i use to have that gpus and now im using 3070 ti laptop that im like this gpu is terrible but im comparing to 4080+ gpus and 7900xtx my last desktop gpu was 5700xt but i sold that desktop.

I just recently got an old MSI GT70, it has a a GTX 680M but I couldn't play Cyberbug on it. There were sounds but I couldn't see anything. Apparently everything was all black except when you're using the mirror.

something that i know about far cry is that it is more cpu intensive, cpu does most of the calculation and it doesnt rely as much on the gpu as much as other games. the dunia engine LOVES high core clocks, this is where older gpus would probably flourish, good sh!t

27:50 at mw2/wz2 in the arguments add -D3D11 will make the game run on dx11 ,and its giving an error cause the dx12 feature lvl that the game requires for dx12 is lower😊!
