The amount of subs is what broke my mind on top of everything else. I mean come on! As if the 6 24' subs facing each other behind the screen weren't enough they just added some lousy 8 subs as surround and as if that all still wasn't enough they put another 2 24' subs under the 2 center seats???!! I can't fathom what that must sound and feel like. 5hz at 120db are just unreal figures...

That's it, I need something identical or near identical to this for my future custom home project in Milwaukee. I don't know how but I need something like this. I'd imagine this costed north of $300-$400,000. I originally budgeted $200,000. I need to get color on what a project like this can cost, and figure out someone that can build it and do a job as amazing as this.

I bet this is north of $500,000... The mill work alone is probably $30-50k. That equipment rack is potentially over $150,000, speakers and subs probably also over $150,000. Chairs probably $30k, projector $30k etc etc. Absolutely insane but amazing!

Agreed., Bruno. Though I enjoy these classic looking private theaters, my personal goal is something different, too. It is interesting to note though, that Keith Yates (who designed the theater)(keithyates.com/) did create that entire front side-walls and front stage in dark acoustically transparent fabric so that when the theater is darkened for viewing, the screen seems to be floating in total darkness. The clients personally do not use the front row (only wanted it there to give "the feel" of a theater...and, of course, for guest overflow) and their peripheral view mostly is of the black fabric so...from their view...it is a dark theater. *Thanks for commenting* !

@@fishis14 For a very high end build the $60,000 Sony projector while very good. It has been easily eclipsed by the recent Christie Eclipse at $300,000 that blows away any commercial and consumer projector 📽️ If I had the money I would use the reference Christie Eclipse projector. Plus the new Perlisten S7t floorstanders that lived upto their hype for the LCR channels. They measure overall quite a bit better than the speakers in the video.

@@C--A Just had a good read on those perlisten speakers, and they are clearly awesome speakers. Compared to the jtr tho, its like jtr is the big bad n/a 7L v12 and the perlisten is a hybrid turbo 1.4L v6. Yet somehow they make the same horsepower. Many people have attempted to get the cost of the project from him but he's been super tight-lipped about it. My guess is that the Keith Yates Design group cost was pretty high since this was a Black Label project. There's a massive amount of acoustic correction material in this room, not to mention the 12 completely custom Ubersub's from KYD. But you're right...there a $30,000 Trinnov, $9000 Kaliedescape server, $18,000 JBL M2 LCR's, and a $60,000 Sony projector plus a long, long list of other equipment that makes this home cinema spectacular!

They're isn't a home theatre of the decade as everyone's view of a great home theatre is different from the next person 👍🏾 The aesthetics old fashioned stained wood panelling just isn't my cup of tea. I personally myself prefer a modern contemporary design with unique features that stand out from the crowd. Plus I don't like compression tweeters, I much prefer beryllium & ribbon tweeters. But still a nice home theatre done in the style and with the equipment the owner wanted.

The construction of this private cinema is really impressive and the job rather well done. At the level of the cabinets I spotted JBL M2 Master reference, just that ! so, when you have the financial means, why deprive yourself of it, it's the Rolls Royce in its category. I discovered this wonder JBL in a recording studio (I'm a musician) with other musicians who only praised it. The sound engineer in the mix told us that he had achieved his dream. Dynamic and never aggressive loudspeakers, unrivaled frequency definition and alignment, and amazing power handling knowing that in the recording studio, the loudspeakers are really stressed for hours ! The amplifiers were Crown I Tech that we no longer present. Well, what happiness. This movie theater is really superb and I imagine the sound with the phonic and acoustic treatment that was carried out, what happiness! I understand why it is said that JBL Engineers are the best in the audio industry worldwide.

@kevinr1282 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheJoeyPeacock A 300" 16x9 is 21' 9" x 12' 3" much bigger. Their screen is only 9' tall. That's such a waste for a 16' ceiling. I love the emersion of the taller IMAX screens, I just don't understand the love for these wide screens. You get any ratio screen within a 16x9 and it's bigger. Movie ratios are all over the place why lock into one ratio. Some movies even switch ratios back and forth throughout the movie. Best to go with the biggest screen you can fit. As for the black bars, you don't notice them on any high-contrast projector. The concern over wasting resolution on the black is a moot point. 4K is more than enough even with 33% wasted on the bars. Bigger is better, is that not why we go to the cinemas? By the way, I think this is a very nice theater, but I'm planning to build a room about this size and I'm going with a 300" 16x9. For the love of IMAX!

@@kevinr1282 I’ll try to not let my own views serve as insults, as you did, but here are some thoughts for perspective…the idea behind a screen that is natively 2:40 in aspect ratio is to make widescreen content the biggest image you see on your system. Avengers is a bigger image than Wheel of Fortune or your local news for example. So while you’re correct in that a 16:9 screen will contain other aspect ratios within its borders, it doesn’t abide by the prioritization guidelines. Pat Sajack will be larger than Iron Man, in other words. Now, in rooms with sufficient height, the ideal choice would be to do something like Stewart’s Director’s Choice screen. This would allow you to effectively have both the ideal size 2:40 and 16:9 screens, since there is four-way masking, and the width of the 2:40 image doesn’t restrict the 16:9 image height, nor does height of the 16:9 image restrict the 2:40 image’s width. There is enough screen material to accommodate both ideal height 16:9 and ideal width 2:40. This theater has such a screen. They just didn’t show it in the video. This isn’t Keith Yates’s first rodeo.
