One of the greatest moments in my life was at his concert in Springfield MO. We had 5th row stage left seats and we were rolling in laughter and almost everyone there was quiet. George stopped the show and pointed at us and said "We got some folks down here having a great time, the rest of you need to lighten the fuck up!" Priceless

I love it! I never got to see him live but I would have been laughing too. Seriously, anybody who went to his show SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED no matter who you were it's safe to assume you personally are going to be insulted that night in the same way. Nobody was safe, exempt, or forgotten your turn would come. If you can't laugh at yourself you were in the wrong building that night.

Thank you George for being brave enough to speak about the millions of girls who have their clitorises forcibly removed in an attempt to keep them sexually repressed and not “cheat” on their future husbands, when they grow up and marry. It is by far the most disturbing, inhumane, disgusting, and barbaric practices I have ever heard of, and had the misfortune of witnessing on the internet!! It is absolutely horrific, and it was brought to light a few years ago, and was being spoken about, but it seems to have been squelched through some form of internet censorship once again. It is sad beyond belief!!

George Carlin is, and always will be, one of the best and most accurate comedians ever to grace the planet. I, and my siblings, love this entire segment. Our brother's name is Flynn. Carlin was always a favorite of mine for never backing down with his material. Some of it hits harsher now than it used to because we aren't used to hearing much like it anymore... still debating whether that's a good thing or not, but it is what it is. So glad I got to see him live once. It was truly incredible and I just barely escaped with dry pants.

My vote is bad - it's bad for us because it's censorship, which means we're on our way to communism which was already a concern when I realized Obama was a socialist, then his actions made sense. So does where the country's headed now. Politics doesn't actually matter, but Obama was the last time I actually thought elections were real.

I fully believe people need to be getting thicker skin again. I'm quite tired of walking on eggshells and feeling like I have to revolve my life around someone else's emotions. These dicks don't pay my bills or keep food in my fridge. They don't do my job for me, and they're not even part of my inner squad to come to my defense if something terrible happens. If they don't like what is being said, the internet has a pretty unique feature called "Scrolling down". If it's on television or some streaming service, there's thousands and thousands of other shows to watch. You're bound to run into something that you'll personally enjoy. I'm really tired of seeing all this watered down media because the producers are afraid of triggering these self-important crybabies, and the ironic part, is most of the things these idiots are being triggered by, don't even pertain to them. They're literally crying for OTHER people, it's like at this point do people now just want some reason to complain? Are they really this bored in their lives with nothing else to do that they have to be complaining for OTHER people? There's so many rules in the social scene now, that even I, as a Generation Z man, can't even keep up with it all because 9/10 of them are total and utter nonsense designed to make you bend to appeal to other people. What ever happened to individuality? Creativity? It's ridiculous.

I agree that times are different, but I think that things have gone too far, and I wonder if it is deliberate. This whole snowflake “never heard that sticks and stones idiom” has led to massive wide scale censorship and cancellation, often by myopic cretins who don’t understand what they are cancelling. The mere fact that a certain subject is being discussed doesn’t mean that it should be cancelled because the moron with the power to censor doesn’t understand the discussion! The far more insidious situation is where people who know exactly what they’re doing cancel discussions and claim that the reason is because of their concerns over offending people.

@@point-five-oh6249 I agree with 99% of what you’re saying but I hope you don’t mean that one should not feel empathy/sympathy for others when you talk about crying for other people. I don’t cry for myself, the ONLY time I cry is for people other than myself.

George Carlin has always been my favorite comedian! Even though the first time I heard one of his LPs, I was around 19,in about 1976, and on a first date with a guy twice my age (my parents age), and he took me to his son's house, where they played George's album. I was so embarrassed, mortified, but I couldn't help but laugh. I grew a pair, right afterwards, and became a major fan! With all his shock, and kidding, he can make some of the most serious points. Love it, and him.

I also laughed as hard as I've laughed in a very long time and I really needed this. Thank you so much for the reaction. My dad always wanted me to think for myself and not trust anything at face value. I appreciate my dad for introducing me to all of this so young and i knew not to swear and repeat what i heard in public but it taught me to think outside of the box and to be myself without caring about what others thought of me. We need to stop letting words and ideas offend everyone and get back to the fact that America was built on being able to have your own ideas and speak out. Slavery probably wouldn't have ended if people were sheep like they are today and just accepted the narrative and were scared of new ideas, ways of thinking and behaving. Just a thought! Hell, George didn't go savage, that just George showing us ourselves. We lived our formative years growing up with George Carlin, Flip Wilson, Carrol Oconner, Dean Martin, and Foster Brooks learning to laugh at ourselves and not take so much personally.
