Day 5 off THC, reduced my coffee from 5cups a day down to 2. I’m more social, I’m sharper, I’m more mindful. It’s wonderful. I’m doing 30 days and I’m gonna determine if I want it back in my life in a healthy way. First few days were hard but after I overcame some “I need weed it’s the only fix I can’t do this” type thoughts I realized I didn’t need it to feel better. I’m starting to feel like I can achieve some goals again. Time to kick some ass!

@@AddictionMindset My anxiety was out of control and I get a lot of migraines so I knew I needed to quit for those reasons, BUT, it was not until I watched your videos that I started having willingness. Your comments about how quitting increases confidence, and that it doesn’t make sense to quit a drug using the same drug, were big “aha moments” for me. For months I had been using a box that locks itself for the period of time you specify as a means to control my using and it just made me more obsessed. I’d take two lozenges instead of one because I knew my box would be locked for a couple hours! 🤣 Your videos convinced me I needed to quit cold turkey and it was so much easier than weaning off!

I’m not sure if I’m understanding you totally, but here’s my take on it. (And I am currently just 72 hours nic free - so it’s still subject to change.) I got so deep into my nicotine addiction that its perpetuation could be justified by literally anything. I’d tell myself no, I can’t quit now, I don’t want to be angry during my grandma’s birthday weekend! No, I can’t do that, I’ll surely be so stressed that I’ll have a panic attack. Quitting won’t happen this time, it’s too much, work will be too hectic for that. You get the idea. I’d tell myself that I’m doomed to fail from the beginning because of XYZ circumstance, and if I didn’t have a good excuse (maybe being happy for grandma’s birthday is actually a fair one), I’d invent one. Conversely, I could also blame bad things on the fact that I was addicted. I’m an a$$hole because I don’t have nicotine. I’m late for work because withdrawals make me tired. Kind of a vicious cycle, right? A cycle of floating through life while joined at the hip with a drug. This is where, in my view, the Christian metaphysics of grace and human volition play a very powerful role. When the will is broken, and thus unable to choose rightly (and act upon said choice), it cannot will itself to be fixed. In other words, if the will is the issue, the will won’t be the solution. That’s impossible. Only grace can heal the wound and allow us to choose in accordance with the good, so long as we are open to it. While AA is not Christian-at least not *explicitly* so-the recognition that we must submit our frailty to a higher power has helped many in their road to freedom. It would be presumptuous of me to claim victory this early on. I know myself better than that. And yet, “[T]hanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” “Blessed be God … who comforts us in all our trials.”

Sobriety is the worst after a month im literally ready to jump of the ledge and go on Full benders any AA old timers that have 20-50 years sobriety is full of crap no one can stay sober that long. It can’t be possible kill me if I ever am sober that long lol. If my longest stint of sobriety is 46 days that tells you something about how IMPOSSIBLE lifelong sobriety is

@@jonahclement24 You can do it Jonah, your time has come😎😎😎 Gradually over time things will snowball and the momentum will build, you have probably noticed this when you stopped drinking. That's a great achievement. I know Dr Frank had some ride or die friends but you will probably have to build a new circle of trust for now, your friends will still be there for you in 3 months at Christmas time to celebrate your progress. You have to be selfish and put yourself first😎😎😎
